Clutch ground out for Marsh

Marsh’s season:

2nd game of the year: 3-5 3RBIs

Every other game: 1-23 1 rbi 10Ks 5BBs (.043 and OBP of .214)

heck since the start of July 2024 he’s been bad.

.214 (53/247) and OBP of .297 and 91 Ks and 28 BBs

I added too it. He’s been bad since July last year. .214/.297 are his avg and OBP. Add on 91 Ks to 28 BBs.

Didn’t need him we have Romano!!!

Holla!

Dombrowski is a base head

Thankfully Alvarado got it done. But everyone in this bullpen not named strahm is shaky or just bad

Still waiting for Dave to pull his head out of his arse. This team needs help

Outfield and bullpen. Even 3B as Bohm looks atrocious. I’m not even sure they can fix all 3 at the deadline. They are really going to need Crawford to come up and take one of the OF spots. IMO they need 2 BP arms not just one

I’m just about done with Bohm. I’m done with Marsh. Will never understand why he let Hoffman go and how he thinks mediocrity is acceptable to just run it back after each year declining in the postseason. Dave is just fine with what we have and I’m sick of it. Same things are happening again

Dave is to blame. So is Middleton. This off-season felt a lot like they didn’t want to spend money cause not enough was coming off the books. in 2026 and 2027 offfseason they’ll have more money to spend and then they’ll make moves then. You can’t do that when your window is now. And you don’t know how many good years this core has.

Bohm needs a change of scenery. He’s lost here and not happy. Just get a RP and go with Sosa. Sosa even when he cools off won’t be this bad. And marsh has been what he has been his entire career. Like I’ve said for 3 years that O’hoppe trade was rushed and bad by Dombrowski

I think it is more Middleton because of the money

The time to move on from Bohm was this past offseason. Now he sucks donkey D even more and he keeps declining because he's miserable and like you said needs a change of scenery. Just a matter of time before he starts his whiny pouty little b**tch BS and throwing crap in the dugout. Next time he does that I hope Schwarber head butts the F out of him and tells him to man the F up.

Why the hell was Bohm batting cleanup? Him and Marsh should be battling for the 8th and 9th spots in the order. While not ideal, Castellanos needs to be the cleanup guy for now on when Schwarber leads off. He's streaky as hell but he's also the best of what they have for that spot.

Bohm needs to be sent down to Triple A to send a message. They don't have the stones to do that though.

i mean, would there be any dropoff at all if they sat marsh and called up crawford at this point?

i know there would some cons in doing that, but c'mon.

Robby T is an idiot. He will leave it this way.

Same reason they have realmuto batting 4-6 when he’s not a middle of the lineup guy anymore. Saw last night and this season when he’s 7-9 spot he’s fine. Cause he doesn’t get RBI opportunities as much. He’s still not great but at least serviceable offensively when he’s out of the middle.

bohm has never been a 3-5 hitter. Ideally 6th behind your cleanup and 5 hole hitter like Castellanos. Issue is the Phillies for the last 3 years don’t have a cleanup hitter unless they move schwarber into the cleanup spot which they only do against LH. They’ve needed a cleanup hitter since Rhys got hurt. It’s why i still want them to go after Tucker. I don’t care about the years and money. If they win a WS with him and he sucks for 6 years of the contract so be it. Tbh likely are going to have Nola, Turner and maybe even Harper not be good all at the same time for a few years and hindering our ability to add and win. Might as well just go all in on signing Tucker in FA and hoping we break through in one of his first couple years.

Probably wouldn’t. They won’t call him up until they can get past the accrued season being effected. Which frankly is understandable as it gives them like half a year in 2025 and an extra year on the backend of a cheap contract

yeah, that's the big con i knew of in doing it now versus after sometime in june, i think is the timeline is?

If Crawford keeps hitting this way in triple A i think middle of June is when he gets called up. There’s a certain amount of days if he’s in the majors that counts as an accrued season. Tbh i think they’d have him up earlier than that if it weren’t for that. Tbh i also think the Phillies are stubborn so they’ll give marsh and bohm more than 10 games. Even though marsh has been bad since July and a .238 hitter since beginning of may last year with a unimpressive OBP and OPS

yep and marsh is what he is at this point. there's no upside, the ceiling has been hit.

At the time of that trade, I said it was a bad trade. When you go look around major-league baseball and guys traded in the last 5 years who were top 100 prospects, they almost never go for a player you had to fix and develop. On top of trading a top 100 prospect, he was a catching prospect with tremendous offensive upside. In a league that’s desperate for hitting catchers. You should have gotten way more just for his potential upside than what they got. Especially when the angels were basically giving up on him a year and a half after being their top prospect. That should’ve been a major red flag, which I said at the time.

They rushed it because they wanted a better outfielder at the time than what they had. So they traded him away knowing he was never going to overtake Jt. But they could’ve either gotten a better and more proven OF or waited until the off-season to make that move.
