April 13, 20251 yr Marsh, Bohm, and Stott all need to go. I know Stott didn’t even play today, but that’s the problem. If your "starting” second baseman can only play against right handed pitching, he isn’t the answer.
April 13, 20251 yr DD is an overrated joke. Middleton should be pissed but he's the one who hired him.

So who gave them those bad contracts? Who's idea was it to trade their top catching prospect for Brandon Marsh? Who's idea is it that Johan Rojas is an actual major league player? Signing Nola to a ridiculous 7 year contract? That Trea Turner contract isn't looking too good right now. Hey, only 8 more years after this one. Not trading Bohm in the offseason when they should have just taken whatever they could get for him. Now? He's not worth anything. They literally have 4 dead spots in their lineup and that's on DD. Let's not even talk about his trade deadline deals. Holy hell.Has he done some good things? Sure. Trading for Sosa was a good trade and the Luzardo trade looks to be a good one. Signing Sanchez to that contract was a good move. Unfortunately, his bad moves far outweigh his good.
April 14, 20251 yr My if anyone cares thoughts:Good:We aren’t even 10% through the season and the Phillies have a .600 winning %. All this doom and gloom and that’s not even badThis is still a very good team that will have its ups and downs.Criticize ownership all you want, there are only a handful of teams with both the will and the means to invest in a championship contending roster…and the Phillies are one of them. Bad:Zach Wheeler is 34. He has been as good as it gets, but I was worried before the season that his days as an ace amongst aces might be numbered. 2 consecutive sub par starts make you wonder.Outfield, obviously, is a mess. I feel like the plan was to upgrade the bullpen at the trade deadline (which is sort of fine, I think the pen becomes more important in the playoffs). But they can’t fix both, just not enough resources.Bohm and Stott. They are fine. They are starters. But I don’t think either is going to be a reason the team contends for championships. With Harper aging, they are going to end up in a place, very soon, where the lineup has zero great bats. Just a bunch of decent hitters who are going to give you .240-.265 batting average with 15-25hr pop. Thats "fine” for any individual player. But we won’t have much that gives you more than that.
April 14, 20251 yr the fact they have to sit him now for 3 days and we are 15 games in is ridiculous. "Mental rest” when he’s been bad since July last year. He might just not be what you guys ever envisioned

April 14, 20251 yr Walker is such a disgrace. Somehow, I missed that lovely signing on my earlier post about DD. That's probably the worst thing he has done as a GM and he has had some bad ones.
April 14, 20251 yr Never thought this team was going to be as good as other people did. I just didn’t see what others were seeing. They have major issues with the lineup and bullpen and addressed neither in free agency.
April 14, 20251 yr A Walker reversion to the mean was inevitable. Should have bet the Giants tonight.
April 15, 20251 yr This team with runners in scoring position. Wow. 2nd and 3rd with no outs then strike out, fly out, ground out. That chump Rojas set the tone with his at-bat. Why wasn't he bunting? That's all he should be doing, bunting. 2 strikes? Sorry, he's bunting. He doesn't need to swing the bat, like ever. Then of course Turner swings at the first damn pitch. Just a bunch of undisciplined hackers.
