April 15, 20251 yr The Phillies propoganda machine will say it as only one bad inning for Walker...who cares, he gave up 6 runs

That chump Rojas set the tone with his at-bat. Why wasn't he bunting? That's all he should be doing, bunting. 2 strikes? Sorry, he's bunting. He doesn't need to swing the bat, like ever. Then of course Turner swings at the first damn pitch. Just a bunch of undisciplined hackers.Their issues with runners in scoring position has been an issue dating back to 2022. Even when they got to the World Series they had that problem all year. The fact it’s 4 years with the same issue should’ve been addressed by firing long (not that it would really change much) to just send a message. Add on still trying to fit a square peg into a round hole with marsh and Bohm.

April 15, 20251 yr You know if you would’ve told me after 2022 that in April 2025 that Castellanos would be our best hitter I’d have laughed

April 15, 20251 yr Best part of watching the phillies tonight is I don't have to listen to the Tv dopes thanks to the new in market streaming option

April 15, 20251 yr Fact Thomson didn’t get tossed after that awful call speaks volumes. This team looks like they did under Girardi since they won the dodgers series in July last year.

First, how the hell does JT not get thrown out there? That deserved a slamming of the helmet right in front of the umpire. Second, I see Thomson just standing there with a blank look on his face. How did he not get rung up? Dude has no fire. The team has taken on his personality. That was basically a replay of Angel Hernandez calling a 3rd strike on Schwarber and Girardi just standing there with that same, stupid, checked out look. He got fired not too long after that.

Then give you a glimpse for 2 maybe 3 and back to bad for a week. This is what they’ve basically done since London last year. They look like what they were when Girardi managed them. It’s been 120 games now (last 100 games were 52-48, playoffs 1-3 and this season 9) where they’ve basically played this way. They need something to jolt them. They won’t do it but frankly they should fire long or Thomson. I don’t see it unless the wheels fall off.
April 15, 20251 yr It is still early, but if you get close to the deadline and you’re at .500 or below, you really need to start thinking about trading guys and getting value for them. This is a long ways away but if it gets to that point then you basically would be this mediocre to below average team since London trip last year. So resetting yourself for the 2026 off-season is the smarter play as the windows is likely slammed shut on this core. I think you could still trade guys like Castellanos, Schwarber, and Nola at the deadline. get decent value for them. get money off the books so that you can go into next off-season with significantly more money to spend. If Castellanos keeps hitting the way he is he will have really good value especially one year left on his contract. If Nola finds himself and gets himself to be what he has been, he will have value and somebody will trade for him. You can survive trading him as long as you re-sign luzardo and with painter coming. It sucks to lose schwarber but based off him not extending this offseason that there’s a chance he leaves anyway. So might as well cash out on him
