April 6, 20251 yr How about Rafael Marchan? He walked 3 times today and does a good job behind the plate. I really hope he can stay healthy so they can continue giving JT more time off. Plus, I sure the hell don't want to see anymore of Garrett Stubbs. It's nice not seeing him in the lineup anymore.
April 6, 20251 yr Was an awesome catch. Saw it live on tv and couldn’t believe he got to it. Then saw him holding his wrist and figured he either broke it or tore ligaments on how it bent off the netting

Marchan is solid if he stays healthy. The issue is he has issues staying healthy.

Is Tucker even worth it at that price? Idk but Rosenthal continuously mentioned the Phillies in 2026 offseason after he got traded. I could see it being us with guys coming off the books the next two years. Frankly even if Crawford and riccones hit, you are still an OF short. He makes a lot of sense cause he likely plays LF for a year then moves to RF when Castellanos leaves in FA after 2026. I’m guessing the Yankees are in. Imo i don’t think tucker goes to the giants unless they severely over pay just simply due to that park is going to hurt his power numbers
April 7, 20251 yr Just because other teams are stupid with their money doesn't mean the Phillies have to be. The Turner contract is already aging badly now imagine Tucker on top of that. I don't see anyway in hell they pony up 500 mil for Tucker. They would have to spread that out over 12-15 years and they already have Harper, Turner, and Nola on long term deals as it is. Would Tucker take a 5-7 year deal? Doubt it.

I could see them doing 8-10 years. Frankly they gave Turner who was a year older 9 and nola 7 when no one else was going to give him 7. I’m also assuming to get a deal done with luzardo probably giving 6-7 like Nola got.

Turner's contract was for 11 years. Nola should never have gotten 7 years, I agree. Tucker is younger than I thought. I guess I would be ok going 8 years with him but if he wants anything close to 500 mil, then it's gonna have to be spread out over 12-15 years which i wouldn't do. The only other option would be to offer him 8 years but have a high as hell AAV. Doubt the Phillies would go for that. In regards to Luzardo, if at the end of the season, he is that #2 they think he is, I would offer to buy out the last year of his arbitration and see if he would bite on a 7 year extension. Not sure who his agent is. If it's that d head Boras, then you can forget about that.
