If I were a Jets fan, I would be disappointed if the move at QB was to sign Jimmy G and that's it.  Carr should be their target.

Agreed

i wonder if the pats would want jimmy g to hedge on jones

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Listen, if im "so dumb" and so outlandish, bet me money. Seems like an easy win for you, pay your mortgage off, take your wife out. Easy Pickins.

Downunda is EXCITED about me being 5% points off LOL. But still backed up my original point, college football is a joke as a ton of games are blow outs.

Speaking of bets, AJ Brown needs 12 catches in the playoffs and you have a month suspension coming.

I think it was 17. Flyers were on 29. I have a classic Big 5 game on DVD that I watch every year on the anniversary of the date it was played and I think I can hear Al Metzer's voice in my head saying "PHL 17" .

I never saw Morse play in person. Saw Hankinson (and Littlepage) a couple of times.

Did you get to see Corky Calhoun?

It's supposed to rain in San Francisco on Saturday. Best chance for a Seahawks upset.

I don't know that rain helps Seattle.  SF has a much better running game.  Seattle's advantage is at WR in the passing game.  They will need some big plays to beat SF and are less likely to get them in bad weather.  It may help create a TO from Purdy but SF doesn't need to pass to win.  They can just run the ball and do just fine.

Not pumping up Jimmy G, but if it is him or Carr, I would look at the resume.

Does that include injury history?

Seattle is a finesse team, and Ken Walker is a finesse RB.

The worse the conditions the more it favors SF.

Are you more or less likely to tune in?

Back in the 1980s/early 1990s, the NFL Superstars competitions were actually entertaining.  This?  It's just getting worse, but at least the risk of injury is dropping.   Although, Robert Edwards would likely disagree... his career was destroyed by a flag football game on the beach.

This is elementary school coming to the NFL.

Less. If there is anything remotely interesting/funny it will be on twitter

Maybe but Jerry has shared that with Parcells before too and it's a very good situation for him in terms of talent.

No longevity in that relationship, tho. Parcells was a Coach AND a Politician. Payton is just an arrogant Richard.

Payton will want control. Jerrah and Stephen will never give that up. Turmoil from the Jump.

If it goes there, Expect a 5 year deal guaranteed and Payton out after year 2. The Jones Headcases will pay Sean to go away..

@downundermike Hot Take offered...:P

2) I'll send you over the picture of the swastika I need you to put in your avitar since you lost our Saints bet

Wait what? That was seriously part of a bet?

I’m of a different mind on the Jags-Chargers game. I feel that’s the biggest home team advantage next to SF-Sea.

Not only did Jacksonville blow the breaks off of the Chargers in LA this year, which the game is now in Duval, but the Chargers’ coach is a very untrustworthy big game manger. Jag’s coach couldn’t be more opposite

Buffalo-Mia has by far the biggest home field advantage

1) I have the screen shots, there was no specification, you said he won't have 100 catches in two years.

2) I absolutely will not put a swastika as an avatar for losing a bet ( and it is quite disgusting that you would even suggest such a thing), and you will not find a moderator that will enforce that.  But give it your best shot.  And you will have to wait a month, I am currently honoring my bet with @4for4EaglesNest with my Vito Spatafore avatar.

And you have to do it within reasonable taste.  Swastika is not happening.

You guys have issues

I watched some clips on youtube. They brought back a pseudo version of fastest man competition after years of not having it, which was cool. Parsons was in it and is stupidly fast for a man that size. Good Lord. The catch competition is now kinda like a poor man's football version of the dunk contest, not that entertaining after seeing it once. The QB accuracy thing is fun to watch though, not as good as the old-school QB challenge was but again it's the closest thing we've had to it in a while so I'll watch that at least. Naturally, Russell Wilson won it last year.

If it actually meant something and players tried their hardest, I'd probably watch. But they just go through the motions, and deservedly so, it's been a long season. Like there's no way Parsons beats Tyreek Hill in a race, but he did last year.

Hill definitely was sandbagging in that race. You could clearly see him give it like 50% effort. Would be far better if it was on a legit track with head-to-head heats, but even so, it's the closest thing we got.

I am fine with this.  You will likely see them compete which is what we want.  The Pro-Bowl has never been a good football game.  It should be much more entertaining as a flag football game.  I just hope they let O-lneman play other positions like WR and QB, mix up offensive and defensive players.

Grew up watching Big 5 basketball when it was great. Almost every night of the week there was a game on TV with Al Meltzer doing the play-by-play. Picked a favorite team and became a hardcore fan. That favorite team wasn't Villanova. I've hated them since the age of eight. To me,, their winning the national championship was like the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl.

Understood. I loved going to the Palestra and if push came to shove I was a Penn fan,but at my core I was a fan of all Five.  I loved the way Temple played under Chaney.  All five captured my enthusiastic support … and they were spread out over multiple leagues so three or more could win their way into the NCAA Tournament.  An added interest came from the fact that local high school players ended up at all five, sometimes arch rivals at the HighSchool level ended up as teammates at one of the Five.

We’ll have to see. I think Buffalo still wins, but they have played down to the Dolphins twice now this year. Tua did start both games, but wasn’t exactly prolific in either. Both were razor thin, and if Skylar Thompson keeps the turnovers down then it depends on which Josh Allen shows up

Gotcha, just wanted to confirm your bailing out of the bet.

That was never in the conditions.

I wouldnt expect you to take my month ban every night from 6pm to 6am for 2 months would I, know thats chicken crap

You bailing out of the bet cause someone might get offended is a you problem

I will let the powers that be decide.  I am not going to put something that is absolutely disgusting as my avatar unless it is OK'd.

@Moderator6, bacarty is requesting I use a swastika as an avatar for a board bet that I have to honor.  Thoughts ??

Bacarty really is the gift that keeps on giving.  Choosing a swastika for downunder and then attempting to hold him accountable for not wanting to use that.  @Bacarty2 you have less emotional intelligence than my 4 month old French bulldog.

@Iggles_Phan

Some examples of excellent Quez catches from last year.

ABOUT 0:58, coming back in to a defender for an underthrown ball, makes catch through contact.

1:42 dives back in opposite direction and plucks the tipped ball way out away from his body as he is going to the ground.

2:04 hes not in the end zone, but he makes the grab reaching over the defenders back and controls it to the ground. Impressive incompletion.

2:12 Sideline toe drag reception

3:36 come back route along the sideline. Has to go up for the ball. Manages to come down both feet in bounds with a defender right on his back.

4:47 deep ball arrives at same time as defender. Watkins comes down with it with defender on his back.

I didnt pay attention the first time around, but I bet youd find a lot of his highlights came on 3rd downs.

He has definitely flashed good body control, and ability to come down with tough grabs.

I maintain that he has done more of it this year, even in clutch situations. But the fumble, and INTs where he failed to box out stand out in peoples mind.

I still feel he is a Darnell Mooney level player with more opportunity (and proper usage to fit his skill set). Thats a borderline #1, and an excellent #2.

No, bacarty has issues.  I currently have an avatar honoring a board bet.  Asking someone to have a swastika is absolutely disgusting.

I completely forgot about Derek Barnett still being on this team. Is he back another year or will the Birds cut him and look elsewhere?

Booo, come on man dont bring Mods into this.

I legit LOLed at the swastika comment
