We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

2018-21 (Vanderbilt)

Spent four seasons at Vanderbilt ... started 33 consecutive games to close out his time in Nashville and played in 38 total games during his career at VU ... was one of 12 true freshmen to see time in 2018, playing in four games at defensive tackle and one at offensive tackle ... started all 12 games at right tackle for the Commodores as a sophomore ... made the move to left tackle as a junior and started in all nine contests ... continued in his starting role on the left side in 2021 and played in all 12 games for Vandy.

Steen's grandfather was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for jumping on a grenade to save his fellow Marines in Vietnam

Multiple people have been clamoring for Brown on this board for the last couple of months. He will probably be a starter sooner or later as a rookie. Seems like a great pick.

I did. Before and during the combine I said my favorite corner and favorite safety both played on the same team (Illinois). I loved brown. He was my favorite safety. I thought he might go higher cause it wasn’t a good safety class and someone would take him early cause of the drop off. Steen is more of a surprise to be but when you watch his highlights and look at his athleticism it makes complete sense. That’s what stout goes with. Can’t teach athleticism can teach technique.

Brown could be a day 1 starter.

I believe he will be. He’s a true FS unlike Edmunds or Blankenship.

There were 2 guys I was interested in as a safety: Brown and Ringo.

Brown is clearly the more polished player. Ringo would need a lot of work.

We needed a starter, so Brown makes a ton of sense. He’s a hard nosed guy with great athleticism and fantastic playmaking skills.

Clean up his tackling and he has pro bowl potential.

Agreed. He likes to dive tackle a lot. But they’ll get that cleaned up in camp. I think he has a really good chance to start for the reason I said above.

Don’t kill my good vibe.

Kudos to @T-1000 and @RPeeteRulesfor being the only two to pick both Steen and Brown in Round 2 of Masters of the Draft

I’d love Tyjae Spears if he drops due to medicals

I think next years draft is going to be WR/CB with the ever-present possibility of OT crashing the party.

You don't go wrong drafting high-character, highly athletic players. It'll work out in the end.

I don't think so. He needs to become a better route runner. As of right now he's a one trick pony

But its a pretty good trick

Don't forget TE.

Washington’s knee could push him down to the 6th…

Not sure if it's the #30, the skin tone or having hair out the back of his helmet, but Sydney Brown reminds me of JR Reed before he messed his leg up jumping the fence.  He threw his body around and was so fun to watch before that.

Much faster than JR but plays with attitude like Reed did.

Brown makes sense as a split safety type, but I wish we had one guy who projects well in single high.

Wouldn't mind a trade up in the 5th to get him. Our roster doesn't need four round 6 and 7 picks

Ringo still available.  He once was ranked top 10 until people saw him got schooled in a couple games due to lack of speed and agility. Is it worth trading one of our 4ths next year plus one of our 6ths if he’s available in the 4th tomorrow?

Brown will have to earn a starting spot, Blankenship was solid to finish out last season and despite being a UDFA, has a good pedigree. Edmunds is a NFL starter.

Point is they're not a weak team plugging in rookies and crossing their fingers, they have starters in place and won't rush Brown. He'll determine his PT by his play in camp.

I like Downs a lot.

I don’t think we need the no spoilers rule tomorrow. Day 3 goes way too fast and they don’t even cover all the picks on TV anyway.

Yeah at this point, spoil away!

Honestly it’s why i wanted us to sign John Johnson. I wasn’t a huge fan of edmunds. I’m hoping he proved me wrong.

Brown is a 4.49 40 guy with an amazing vertical and broad jump, 6 picks last year, and long ass arms. He is by far the best single high S on our roster.

He won’t have to start but I have little doubt he will earn a starting spot by the end of camp.

He has the speed just not the start stop

I was gonna say he also kind of reminds me of jr Reed especially wearing no. 30.

Speak for yourself. I’ve been clamoring for Brown for a while. Ask around. And Steen is an extremely athletic G/T. In Stout I trust.

I’ve been asking around for the last 12 minutes and I’m still waiting for confirmation.  Nobody can confirm. However, My inbox is clogged with @Godfather’s taint pics and my phone doesn’t have any more data storage after @mikemack8 sent me his family reunion video.
