That's why i brought up Julio Jones...  I think him and Taylor Lewan (swing tackle) make a ton of sense.  Don't have to start and can get their bodies right and give us a few games at high levels in case anyone goes down.

LB Deion Jones, TE Geoff Swain plus some guys you mentioned and others. All could be serviceable vet options that can play a part this year.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Looking at Seattle's defense last year they had Quandre Diggs (short) play pretty well especially the 2nd half of the season.

I think DT is set, provided players they brought in perform as they are capable.

Cox, Williams, Davis, Carter, Ojomo with the hopes they can get Street on the PS.

With Cox being on his last year (presumably), I don't think they would want to risk losing Ojomo.  He was pretty highly regarded and while his role won't be much this year, when Cox is gone, he'll 100% be in the rotation.

I don't think they bring in a veteran TE.  If they were going to address it, this was the draft to do it.  Leads me to believe they really want to see what Calcaterra can do.  They know Stoll is their steady, blocking TE but I'm guessing they want to see if Calcaterra can reach his OU, pre-injury potential.

Diggs is one of the best safeties in the league. You can get by at safety with sub par athleticism if you have great instincts.

Am I the only one who doesn’t find Will Levis’ sisters and gf very attractive?

I'm cool with it too. I also enjoy playing the numbers game.

Here's my take. The Eagles were the ones who proposed to the league the inclusion of zero as a viable number in the first place. I highly suspect it was because of the problems they faced last year. They only had one number (13) available all season long, which is why Dicker wore it and then later Kern did. They had no other damn choice. After he was claimed on waivers, Book only had two options -- 13 and 19. It was really tight. But that's what happens when you give out 2, 3, 6, 7, 11, 14, 16, 17, and 18 to regular players and have 5, 9, 12, and 15 unavailable. There was no real good reason why Quez Watkins had to switch to a number in the teens after his rookie year. Britain Covey didn't NEED to wear a number in the teens. Why the hell did Zach Pascal get a single digit? It was pointless and silly.

So my feeling is, okay, we've been really stupid with our number assignments lately and we earned some flexibility by initiating the inclusion of an extra number. So why should we burn that flexibility right away on someone else? Let's keep some number flexibility for the season in case we have some injuries and need to add a player. Okay, granted that kickers and punters can now wear numbers outside of 0-19, but quarterbacks are still restricted.

Hell, the only player I'd give out 0 to would be Mariota since he's a quarterback and that's the position where there could be issues.

Also, who remembers Al Oliver wearing 0 for the Phillies?

Whats the attidude? I havent heard.

After looking at him cover Smith, I went and read his scouting report on TDN. It sounds pretty much all good. You would expect this might be a 2nd or 3rd round player from reading it.

We really might have something here.

You are looking at his freshman film in that clip. He looked like he might be good as a freshman but once players got film on him, his immediate contact became a liability coupled with no second gear (makeup speed), slow and STIFF (no agility and stiff hips - notice in your clip he slants, doesn’t turn - deadly for a NFL DB).  He was pretty bad as a sophomore so he jumped on the transfer bandwagon to Alabama where he really wasn’t very good last year when he finally got on the field.   Nice UDFA gamble but really doesn’t strike me as anything more than PS candidate and probably not that.

The most fair take about Swift is that he's very inconsistent player.
In terms of elusiveness/production, he's a top 10 back on a per carry basis. He's also wildly inconsistent, so his production is raised by big runs which artificially raises his average.

I'll use Eagles @ Lions from last year as an example.

Rushes (yards): 50, 11, 6, 1, 2, 13, 7, 7, 3, 4, 18, 1, 0, 5

You can't waive off the big runs, because they absolutely matter. However, in no universe do I want him on the field for 3rd and 2 where he'll try to get a 10 yard gain when a 3 yard gain is a win.

nah, i am right there with you. His GF is ok, nothing special- problem is, these days in the tik tok generation, a plain looking younger woman who is in shape and knows how to apply a ton of makeup is appealing.  Many of todays young women, go out of their way to make themselves not attractive, many are overweight, many have weird hair styles, tons of piercings and tattoos. So when you see a regular looking woman who cares about her appearance today- it's magnified.

But, She is nothing special. My wife at her age, and no make up was better looking then her with....

Howie left open some spots.  Wonder if that was geared towards third tier FAs.  In fact, I wonder if he doesn’t have some tentative deal(s) in place.

What difference does that make? He'll trade her in soon anyway.

I dunno. I think I'd be pretty happy with a back who gains 5 or more yards 50% of the time.

He got benched in Detroit and Duce Staley wanted to fight him.

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our first date (Wednesday), schmoopie got us Game 4 tickets Sunday :groovy:

People who wear makeup that thick usually do for a reason

Think you got that backwards. She'll leach on to a real first round pick.

That says a lot more about the coach than the player, but your overall point is valid.  He's not a short yardage back and shouldn't be used in those spots.  Fortunately Hurts and Penny should be quite capable of handling the 1-2 yard requirements.
