With Trump winning the popular vote I'd argue that we're the senile ones now.

Last I checked he was still up by 5 million votes.

Start by stopping to demonize white people and men. All the left identity politics came back to bite them in the arse. Make it about class again and preach moderate economic policies that include helping all little guys/gals.

dems are historically stupid & will probably think the solution is to go further left.

I give @Procus a hard time for being senile, but he was right about the election.

You also picked Trump in the poll.

I chuckle a bit with you all thinking the man is going to do one damn thing he said he would.

I think he will have a quiet presidency — in a good way. He only has 4 years so he ultimately can’t get much done.

Hopefully he deescalates at least 1 of the two major conflicts, basic bish GOP tax policies, and improves border security/immigration.

I’m not expecting miracles, just marginal improvement.

So in all seriousness, are the Republicans really going to try to dismantle Social Security? This is my biggest fear. If I get all these programs taken away from me, I am seriously screwed. I know people will laugh at this, but this is really worrying me.

Something is going to have to change. I read someplace - don't remember where - that if benefits were reduced to 85% of current levels there would be no problem. The other thing that gripes me is if Social Security were mostly a retirement fund instead of of what it is today, there wouldn't be a problem. How many able bodied people under the age of 65 are getting Social Security and Medicaid benefits? I don't know the percentage and I'm sure 'the swamp' don't want to talk about it.

That would be my prediction. Maybe there is another Slick Willy out there to help.

If losing to Trump twice isn't going beat some sense into them then I don't know what will.

The loud external calls are going to be about doubling down. At least to start.

Moss got them all right in the polls I believe - I think it might be time to admit that he's a genius

I hope this is a joke

If it isn’t the business just passes the cost down and then eventually the consumer pays the higher cost. I have noticed people only mentioned finished goods from countries like China, but the US also sources raw materials  like minerals that cannot be sourced domestically.

It is, should've laid the sarcasm on thicker.

You messed that up somehow. That isn’t my quote. It’s spider’s.

Look, Social Security shouldn't even be a real thing. The government shouldn't be in the retirement business for anyone other than people who have serious issues or are incapable of earning enough to save for retirement. The entire program should be unwound and people should get the money back that they put into it. The problem I have with Trump is I don't trust him or Republicans to get greedy and not try to privatize it.

Btw - Let Munson know that he can finally throw in the towel with identity politics and go back to class based positions. Munson was wrong all along as I said he would be.

15 months after Trumpy last won presidency, Eages won the SB.

So I guess we have that to look forward to in Feb 26. Sucks that it’s in San Fran though.

Did you not read what I posted? I said the whole Democrat identity platform isn't working and needs to be tossed out with the bathwater. Run on issues the majority of Americans care about. The simple fact is you can't be the party of black and gay people in a white, Christian country and expect to have sustained success. Obama, while black, was an issues candidate. Or at least spoke like one.

I did read what you posted and that's why I responded that identity politics is all they have because their policies directly hurt whites/Christians (and really all middle-class earners). So they have to rile up minorities through identity politics because they need the turnout considering minorities and clueless whites are all they have left as potential voters.

BS. McConnell may have some restraint but Trump sure as hell won't.

He wants to politicize the Fed FFS.

McConnell can't walk in a straight line.

You're still butthurt about the Supreme Court opening in 2016 - except that in prior years when there was such an opening in similar circumstances, the party controlling the Senate would never put up a nominee of a lame duck president of the opposite party.

Honestly, it's just such attitudes on the part of you people that created the massive Republican win last night.  Own up to your own shortcomings for a change.  The American people put the likes of you and your cohorts on notice whether you like it or not.
