Democrats talk to voters in a language that most don't understand and never will. 30 years ago when the average voter was more educated about policy and how the economy worked that wasn't a problem. And it's also why Democrats are now viewed as "elitist" and "establishment"... it's the less embarrassing way for a working class voter to say, "I have no idea what you're talking about when you are explaining how inflation or tariffs work and I resent you for it." Bernie does a great job of talking TO people and not at them. Trump is another great example. He gets down on their level and speaks in a way that doesn't make someone feel stupid. If anything, you feel smarter listening to Trump speak.

This is clearly true because Democrats are known to share detailed policy positions with the electorate. It's why Kamala took all those long-form interviews where she really delved into her nuanced positions on a wide array of subjects just before the election. Clearly, Democrats were just too smart to convince dumb voters to let them stay in power.
