But he has been the beneficiary of a lot of credit when the situation around him had to be perfect. Great QB’s adapt and don’t need the team to be perfect around them. I haven’t seen anything that suggests that Jalen can operate at a high level unless he has a perfect O line and 2 WR1’s plus a top 5 defense and a transcendent running attack. He has an opportunity in front of him to be great. The offense has been scheming space for WR’s and it’s just waiting on him to read the defense and get the ball out on schedule.Sorry I should have been clear… When I say I think Jalen is great what I mean is I think he seems like a great person. He might not give a lot away but he seems like a cool character. He’s got a great temperament and doesn’t let things get on top of him.

I've wanted the same for Jalen, and not to silence the haters/media, but to hopefully see a player develop and provide stability for the team.I think this front office knew who Jalen was during the Steichen years - Howie did a great job of loading Jalen with offensive talent, seems like they knew thats what it was going to take in order to get another SB, and we did. But now that the talent level isn't there, we are seeing Hurts struggle. And I think this is an orchestrated test by the front office, if Hurts continues to struggle then it is validation that we do not move forward with him.On 10/9/2026 at 9:44 AM, Shalodeep said:It would be whats best for this team. Would definitely make things a lot easier in loading back up in talent not worrying about the qb position. Hes just been in the league long enough where I just dont see it happening. Not my money though. Lurie will do what he wants. On 10/9/2026 at 11:03 AM, VeeMak said:There are examples of dual threat QB’s that evolved into prolific passers. Steve McNair, Mark Brunell and Steve Young come to mind. Randall Cunningham had his runner up MVP season with Minnesota as a pocket passer.I don’t know that Hurts has the same arm talent as them, so it may be wishful thinking, but as critical as I can be of Hurts, the one area that he seems to excel at is hard work. I think he will put the work in, but the talent ceiling may be what prevents (or perhaps has prevented) this evolution from happening.I don't think it's too late. Sirianni has always designed the offense (with the OCs we've had) to take advantage of what Hurts does well and avoid doing the things he wasn't that great at. They weren't really asking him to take more chances. Now that he has all the experience he has, his coaches need to challenge him to be better at the things he doesn't do well, as opposed to avoiding those aspects of a passing game. As a fan, I'm willing to accept that the INTs may increase, but that increase should be less of a worry when you increase your other passing numbers and extend drives, convert more 3rd downs and decrease 3 and outs. I actually think McNabb left a lot of meat on the table by choosing not to run simply because he hated being called a "running QB." Randall mostly just ran for his life and when he got to Minnesota, that was the first time he ever played behind an O-line that was actually good. During his time in Philly, his O-line went from, the worst ever in the modern NFL, to still pretty bad. I don't think Hurts wants to stop being a dual threat QB and I don't think the "always slide" thing is his call. It started in 2023 after the contract extension and after (obviously) the 2022 shoulder strain. He's been coached to take a dive and that nullified the effectiveness of a critical part of the offense that we still, for some reason, try to use to no effect. If they want to eliminate that, fine, you need to replace it with something else that makes life harder for defenses. So force Jalen to get better at the things he's uncomfortable with rather than avoiding them.19 hours ago, GeorgeM37 said:I NEVER understood this part right here because he has been doing it since....well, forever!! He waits until the play clock is almost a zero to take a snap....I am like. dude, switch it up sometimes so they never know whats coming....but he never does and so the defense knows exactly how to play everything....its so frustrating to witness....17 hours ago, MagicMoment said:It makes no sense and we can see it from the couch. I hold Nick accountable at this point since this has been going on for multiple seasons. A competent coach would have put a fire on Jalen’s ass about this. It's all part of what used to be a successful enough strategy to win a Super Bowl. They were limiting the game's total plays, increasing TOP, and trying to limit the amount of time the defenses had to be out there. It worked great when we were jumping ahead with big 1st half leads like 2022 and it still worked in 2024. But it isn't a good strategy during long periods of offensive struggles --- regardless of what is causing the struggles. I think Nick was just slow to recognize that it was broke and needed fixing. They tried to stay true to their previously successful strategy. As a HC, Sirianni really needs to learn how to adjust and when. I love that he trusts his players, but he needs them to trust him too.

I didnt hate the effort they put into trying in 2023 to get him to sling it more. May have not been as successful as we all wanted, but I felt it was heading towards a better jalen long term. Then they ended that experiment

Most patients have full relief of pain and swelling without anticoagulation within 1-2 weeks, but require about 3 months to be medically considered "out of the woods.”I’ve been critical of Jalen’s play at times, but all of that needs to be put aside. This is a serious issue that is much bigger than football and it’s important that he takes the time needed to fully heal. There will be hopefully time in the future to critique or celebrate his play. As for now, I will not opine on Jalen the QB.

He’s already made McKee look bad enough to be labeled worse than Dalton for weeks and now he’s going to make him look good enough to be great after finding out he’s starting after a few days notice? Yeah that’s a huge ask, but one way or another we are going to learn.

And by extension, our GM's fixing the OLine also sucks.Do we learn anything about Tanner KcKee as a QB behind this OLine and under this OC? Does it matter? The Eagles NFL script for this year is horrible. Who makes this stuff up?
