Any time his shortfalls as a passer are brought up, his loyalists immediately point to his rushing yards and TD''s. If he is not going to do that, and his rushing totals are going to decline, then his passing numbers need to improve. He has only broken 3500 passing yards twice in his career, and his super bowl winning year was 2900 passing yards and 18 passing TD's.I was watching the titans-panthers game the other night and to see Bryce Young hit his receiver IN STRIDE WITHOUT THE RECEIVER HAVING TO SLOW DOWN was a thing of beauty to witness....the receiver only had 1-2 steps of a jump on the defender so it was perfectly placed....it truly was a thing of beauty....I want to see this from Jalen...he can occasionally do it but I need to see it from him more often because Makai Lemon is constantly getting open....People have to stop coddling Hurts....other QB's have had to work with less than stellar receivers (hell, we saw McNabb do it for four years before TO came to town)....its part of the game....we all know he has a great work ethic so I would love it if he would work on this part of his position....

The fact that he was able to put up 20 points against the Rams is a miracle. But Siriani should get blame too. Going for it on 4th down with a weak o line who couldn't get a first down should have been enough for him to decide to kick the fg. not to mention it would give our defense reason to play and maybe prevent that drive. Instead the failure of play embolden the Rams.Exactly.......the offensive line has been lousy. And the play calling hasn't been much better. And Sirianni thinks the O-line is still one of the best, which is certainly is not...he needs to adjust to that fact. There is nothing wrong with Hurts.....the guy has been hampered by lackluster OCs a lot in his career and now he's got a lousy offensive line.....and until the eagles fix that issue, they're going to struggle all year.
October 6Oct 6 It's not even the amount of runs per game anymore for him as much as his running style has totally changed. He never had elite speed but was a physical runner that picked up tough yards, took good angles, made the most out of what was there. All that is gone now. He runs scared, afraid of any type of contact. I can't remember the last time he made a team pay for over pursuing him in the pocket. He was super fun to watch in the beginning. Now not so much. It's been pretty painful. The worst I've seen in my lifetime. Even the wins aren't enjoyable for the most part. It's just ugly. When enough people tune out Jeffrie will get the message. At some point this all becomes Julian's problem. I have a lot of faith in Howie and the analytic team helping him along. Just imagine how many Andy Daltons Howie can stack onto the roster with the analytic team and Julian's help.

Start at the 13 minute mark of this video. Stafford is completing passes to guys who are covered. If this was Jalen Hurts running around like an idiot, people would be screaming no one is getting open. Throws into tight windows, throws with multiple defenders in the area, back shoulder. Everything after the 13 minute mark, Hurts does twice a game at best, Stafford throwing darts on two consecutive drives.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6eywSmXaCI

Our record without him is very poor. Doesn't bode well for future success.

If he can't play the offense your OC's want to run then you either have the wrong OC or the wrong QB, and given we're now on the 4th OC that's had to change his gameplan, it's time to accept it's the QB that's the limiting factor.I get that he played great in the Superbowl twice, but I need to see something close to that sustained over a full regular season, rather than those two performances being towering peaks over 4 years of uneven play.

I want to support the guy but he makes it impossible. It's a logical fallacy after watching the same problems week after week. The cap is a dam waiting to explode with all the failed contracts piling up.

I have been trying for so long to not speak negatively on Hurts but enough is enough...the RPO they went away from and since then, pretty much nothing....he shows up in flashes but I need consistentsy outside of the superbowls, like you said.....NOW is the time to prove he can be a QB without all of the all star power that was surrounding him because if McNabb could do it with James Trash and Odd Pinkston surely Jalen can also, right?
October 8Oct 8 Trevor Lawrence was the 1st overall pick in 2021 and became a full time starter on the same day as Hurts (week 1 2021)They have about the same number of passing yards (Lawrence in 5 less starts due to missing 7 games in 2024)Hurts has 117 passing TDs to 42 picksLawrence has 106 passing TDs to 60 picks.Hurts ran for 3659 and 64 TDsLawrence ran for 1476 and 23 TDsHurts is 59-27 as a starter.Lawrence is 38-43 as a starter. This is where you cry about Lawrence's supporting cast while Hurts has been: 9-7 in 2021 with a bad offense around him (Raegor, Ward, Watkins, and a rookie DeVonta at WR)11-5 in 2023 with a dreadful defense. (30 26)11-5 in 2025 with a horrific offense around him. 2-2 so far with drek.Lawrence looks like he is ascending now into the top 10. Good for him.Hurts spent most of his career in the top 10.
October 8Oct 8 It's groundhog day with the OC's.New OC comes in with ideas for the offense and passing game with a more "interesting" offense. Early in the season, Hurts throws a bunch of INTs and misses a lot of plays --> throws over the middle disappear, only shotgun, route concepts get stale, redundant, and predictable. Just run as much as possible --> blame the OC --> repeat

Hes no longer behind a historic line with a should be hof oline coach, with prime brown Smith goedert. He doesnt finish runs runs the way that he used to that gave him that extra 2-3 yards when he chose to run. Hell, he chooses to run less now. Hes the most accomplished qb in eagles history. You dont pay for what theyve done, but what you believe they are going to do. I would probably be okay paying sunshine right now over jalen who hasnt been right since...well the 49ers game in 23? Sprinkle in a few explosive plays to cover up bad play and a few really good games a year.

I've wanted the same for Jalen, and not to silence the haters/media, but to hopefully see a player develop and provide stability for the team. I think this front office knew who Jalen was during the Steichen years - Howie did a great job of loading Jalen with offensive talent, seems like they knew thats what it was going to take in order to get another SB, and we did. But now that the talent level isn't there, we are seeing Hurts struggle. And I think this is an orchestrated test by the front office, if Hurts continues to struggle then it is validation that we do not move forward with him.

Would definitely make things a lot easier in loading back up in talent not worrying about the qb position. Hes just been in the league long enough where I just dont see it happening. Not my money though. Lurie will do what he wants.

Steve McNair, Mark Brunell and Steve Young come to mind. Randall Cunningham had his runner up MVP season with Minnesota as a pocket passer. I don’t know that Hurts has the same arm talent as them, so it may be wishful thinking, but as critical as I can be of Hurts, the one area that he seems to excel at is hard work. I think he will put the work in, but the talent ceiling may be what prevents (or perhaps has prevented) this evolution from happening.
October 9Oct 9 I’d love to see the 2026 version of this stat; I’d bet we are still one of the worst teams snapping the ball under 5 seconds. This falls directly on Hurts and coaching for not lighting a fire under him. How do you expect defenses not to predict the snap count when they never have to worry about it coming over 5 secs of the play clock? You would think that as long as he takes to snap the ball, he’d be making all kinds of presnap reads but we don’t even get that.

I hold Nick accountable at this point since this has been going on for multiple seasons. A competent coach would have put a fire on Jalen’s ass about this.
October 10Oct 10 Jalen has an opportunity to make some adjustments to his game.Nothing like a little pressure to make a change.
October 10Oct 10 I think Jalen is great. I think he’s been a really good QB for us. He’s been the QB during a hugely successful period of our history (arguably the most successful). He’s had some great games and great moments. He’s always handled himself incredibly well despite so much criticism and the question marks with him.But I’m really reaching a point where I think it’s time the organisation started to look at options for the future. That doesn’t mean absolutely move on but that’s got to be on the table. I’m just not sure he’s got what it takes to be a pocket passer in the NFL.

But he has been the beneficiary of a lot of credit when the situation around him had to be perfect. Great QB’s adapt and don’t need the team to be perfect around them. I haven’t seen anything that suggests that Jalen can operate at a high level unless he has a perfect O line and 2 WR1’s plus a top 5 defense and a transcendent running attack. He has an opportunity in front of him to be great. The offense has been scheming space for WR’s and it’s just waiting on him to read the defense and get the ball out on schedule.
