Hate to say it…. Hurts got paid. He’s done

Agreed. I have given him the benefit of the doubt on his limitations for years now but this start of the season I simply cannot do it anymore. I used to hate the RPO but with that he at least was a threat....I no longer see him that way and just an afraid QB scared to do anything beyond his first read.....he is NOT the QB that can put the team on his back like McNabb used to.....and people complain about McNabb and his dirt balls, which were a legit complaint but at least he actually could pull off wins by himself because of his mediocre wide receivers on the team.....I have to say that I now agree with another person's view on Hurts: he has to have everything perfect around him to be a winner....that means the screens have to work, the OL has to hold up, the running game has to be solid to excellent and the defense has to be elite.....

I've been saying that for years and I warned that it wasn't a sustainable way for this team to keep winning as the the team lost talent. Hurts had so many outlets to bail him out over the years that just aren't here anymore. He can't carry a team

In fact I wouldn't even call him agame manager at this point. Cause usually you can rely on them to move chains.. He cant even do that.

  • All of those guys changed teams  I like where you are going with this

  • Coaching and play design?  I don't understand why Hurts has so many plays where he stands in the pocket and delivers accurate passes but you guys never talk about that, only the bad plays.

Yes agreed....*sigh* I have tried for the longest time to avoid giving him much criticism but nobody in their right mind can defend this bullshiggidy anymore....UNDER 100 yards passing??? Meanwhile, Stafford carves up our defense for damn near 400.....smh

Thanks be to God that he wasn’t paid again this off season.

Some of the names jumping off the jalen bandwagon getting me a little nervous for this season. Like if you guys are losing hope...

Washed. Russel wilson 2.0

Nick Foles, who is a big Jalen supporter had a very good breakdown of his issues reading and going through progressions. He also discussed his role in protections and how he isn’t helping his OL. Guys were open against the Rams, Jalen has to get rid of the ball faster, make faster reads. Skip to 36:21 to get to his issues with reads if you don’t want to watch the entire episode.

Likely stuck with him for at least one more season beyond this year. $67M dead money hit to the cap if he is cut anytime before the end of the 2027 season ... $45M if traded. Both pre-June 1 designations.

I would not give hurts another contract. start figuring out who is the guy is going to be now. And having both McKee and Dalton (these aren't the answers) in both backup spots doesn't make sense. Bring the draft pick up to emergency qb and let him get some reps in practice. Otherwise we have a bigger problem in next years draft to solve

With an ineffective OLine and reduced threat of a run game, teams are blitzing Jalen.

No time to make reads while running for his life.

What was the breakdown of penalties? How many offensive holding calls and on who? And personal fouls?

And, 2 stupid turnovers going for it on 4th down plays?

One was so stupid. Turned over the ball around our own 40, like a 12 year old playing Madden.

On the other, we could have taken the field goal.

Fire Siriranni.

That is where I am at....all teams have figured out he isn't even a threat to run anymore so all you have to do is pressure the hell out of him and the line....the blueprint was given when they played the bears.....

He's had a few drives that were great but overall he hasn't been good

People saying Hurts doesn't have time are going against the stats. Hurts is at 4th with the most time to throw the ball after it's snapped. Funny enough Keenum has the least amount of time to throw out of everyone

He is simply not seeing the entire field. Brady and Aikman point that out regularly when they call Eagles games. Yes, the OL isn't playing up to standard, but adjust the protection. The ball needs to come out quickly.

The Rams started overloading one side, and did so multiple times throughout the game. Usually, when that happens, they'll drop someone to fill the void, but Chris Shula didn't because he was probably confident Hurts wouldn't adjust. He was right.

I would hesitate to give him another extension if I'm Howie or Jeff Lurie. They might need to draft a QB early next year if we don't see an drastic improvement from this offense and Hurts. The OL needs to be rebuilt as well.

I also don't want to hear anything about Lemon being a bust. The kid is getting open and Hurts isn't seeing him. Hopefully, it's a comfort issue that improves over time. There is still 13 more games left.

Makai Lemon’s separation ranking in 2026(Next Gen Stats data): On in-breaking routes he averages 3.8 yards of separation which is 17th among all qualifying wide receivers and 1st in rookie WR’s.

I’m ok with that. I have patience. I’d give him 2 seasons of/with this "new” Offensive scheme.

The glaring issue for me is the horrific mess of an OLine that they have. Straighten that out, get Smitty and Goedert healthy, then see what happens.

It’s extremely tough to find the right QB, for the right system, in the NFL.

That's what I like about Sirianni. His philosophy isn't to pigeonhole players into a certain system, but instead to build something around the players' strengths. I just don't agree with neutering our current offense by telling Jalen to take a dive 6 or 7 times a game instead of using his gifts for good. I also disagree with his "keep players healthy" camps and preseason approach. Maybe worry about getting the team prepared for games and if a player gets hurt, the next guy steps up. It makes little difference if you wait until the season to get everybody hurt.

Playing QB in the NFL is really difficult.

Dan Marino 1988-89, ages 27 and 28. Was he done too?

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MariDa00.htm

14-18 record, 45 picks across 2 seasons. That dude was really seeing the field.

He was reading defenses... literally. He was able to see the names on the backs of their jerseys as they ran the other way.

What a master of the QB position.

Stafford 2012-13 and 2022-23 Was he done?

Jim Kelly 1986-88?

Elway 1988-92? FIVE YEARS!

Favre 2005-06?

Rivers 2014-16

Most of you are 4 inches from it and have zero perspective.

McNabb's first 7 games of 2003:

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McNaDo00/gamelog/2003/#55-61-sum:stats

3 TDs 7 picks 142 yards passing per game. 4-3 record.

Remind me how did he and the team do the next year?

I would be thrilled to give Hurts a week off for a team reset.

Let McKee throw 2 picks, take 6 sacks, and fumble twice in London.

Dalton can mop up for 2 more picks.

Then fire Siri in London.

Listen, fans will always overreact when their team struggles. But Jalen said in his press conference that he needs to play better. I agree with him. You should too. This isn't the first time he said that this year either.

There is no QB on the team that will take this team farther than Jalen will. I don't want to see McKee play unless Jalen gets hurt. I do want to see Jalen play way better than he did Sunday at home. The Eagles kind of set the bar in 2020 when the offense struggled every week. If they don't appear to be a legit playoff contender by December, it may be time to see what they have in McKee or Payton with the remaining games. It was fair when it was Hurts replacing Wentz. It can be fair for someone else if Hurts can't right the ship.

Seriously, if it gets to that, we won't be seeing the same HC next year either and it would be up to Hurts to fend off the challenger in the next offseason or play it like Wentz did.

-Kelly wasnt a starter until 86 lol 😆

-Marino threw for 8431 yard and 52 tds those two season

-Stafford threw for 9617 yards and 49tds

-Brett was 36 years old and threw almost 3900 yards each year 05-06

-Rivers threw for over 4k each year you listed

The mcnabb comparison is unique because he was the only other qb who was reliant on his legs to be part of his game as heavily as jalen. Mcnabb also only had one true great year left in him after that season. Then it average with a few good games sprinkled in here and there.

Everyone else you listed was still putting up huge numbers. They were doing their parts overall for the teams.

Jalen is hurting his own career choosing to not run at this point. Hes not any of the guys you listed above. He doesnt have to be if he gets out of his own way and uses all his skills. He has something quite a few of them dont...a ring, and easily could of had a second. Dude needs to use his legs to either run up the field or eventually walk to the bench because whatever he is doing right now isnt working. You cant keep blaming coordinators. He is the one on the field.

Jalen is hurting his own career by not finding the open receivers.

Fixed it for you.

I saw like 2 plays where Hurts should've or could've made a play, but he didn't see the open WR due to either scrambling away from him, or he just hesitated and didn't pull the trigger. Yes, there were a couple of times Lemon is running wide open, but on those plays you see Jalen is dealing with a defender or two in his face. The OL is simply not allowing this offense Mannion runs to be effective.

Lastly, 98 yards passing is atrocious, but the team had a 10 point lead with that from Jalen. He had also technically outplayed Stafford until the meltdown happened. Stafford had putrid numbers until the final 2 drives, but thanks to Sirianni, we gave the Rams a game we should've won.

There's no question that it's the whole team struggling. It's been the whole team struggling since last season. It was the whole team in 2020 too. We need our best players and our leaders to make up for the struggles of lesser players. There isn't a lot of patience these days in the NFL for teams that can't figure it out.

We lost 2 of our first 4 games in 2024 and won a super bowl. We lost 2 of our first 4 games in 2020 and benched our franchise QB and ultimately fired our HC. The clock is ticking. We can't just acknowledge we need to play better / coach better, we need to actually do the thing.

Oh please. The o line is terrible. One of the worst in the league. And Hurts is running for his life. The fact that he was able to put up 20 points against the Rams is a miracle.

But Siriani should get blame too. Going for it on 4th down with a weak o line who couldn't get a first down should have been enough for him to decide to kick the fg. not to mention it would give our defense reason to play and maybe prevent that drive. Instead the failure of play embolden the Rams.

I can totally agree with this. He is not a pure pocket passer and never has been. His strentgh was the RPO style offense and they have gone completely away from that because teams adjusted....I remember McNabb not wanting to be known as a running QB but he really had no choice whatsoever...same with Jalen, he had better start running again or else this is going to get alot worse.....

Agreed. His #1 skill is his running ability. Any time his shortfalls as a passer are brought up, his loyalists immediately point to his rushing yards and TD''s. If he is not going to do that, and his rushing totals are going to decline, then his passing numbers need to improve. He has only broken 3500 passing yards twice in his career, and his super bowl winning year was 2900 passing yards and 18 passing TD's.
