Collapsed so epically and really was shocking our HC even returned this season from that. Then was on the hot seat going to be axed week 6 if we lost to the Browns. Can’t remember any SB winning team facing anything close with this HC situation.

As the big FA signing lol what we signed him to a 1 year like 3.5m deal he wasn’t some huge signing.

If you wanted to say Bryce Huff we signed and flopped sure that was a big signing but not Devin White dude was basically a borderline minimum signing that couldn’t win a job and cried to get released

Thought he was paid more than Baun even. Was clearly the starter all TC. For a guy that doesn’t pay LBs….that was Rosie’s move.

Just pointing all this out because you’d so normally believe that a Championship season is filled with so much more dream like scenarios falling into place. Which many did. So many great things and moves did make it happen. But wasn’t just perfectly coming together like it was so meant to be like almost always the stories of SB champs comes with.

Yea like the under study to Kelce coming in and not missing a beat at C seems like a dream scenario

Jalen Carter completely upping his game after our DT leader leaves the team to replace him seems very dream like.(Jordan Davis also made massive strides as that NT)

Dean finally stayed healthy most of the year and you have Baun the DC hand picked player be a DPOY candidate player…. Seems like a dream scenario

Spinning it all on a positive master plan…you’d say it worked out almost like it was intended…to force Dean to earn his job. But the chosen starter FA addition didn’t even stay on as a backup. That’s what really makes it so glaring of not a guy helping us get here and accomplish it.

Think White was technically 1 year 4m with 3.5m guaranteed but we only paid him the 3.5m

But no he wasn’t some huge signing White was a flier LB signing just like Baun was completely on par with the way Howe looks for LBs

Just like the with White was back in 2022 minimum signing that played above his contract

Cam working out was fantastic. Carter as well. But not your typical Super season story….losing your long time leaders and studs at C running so much on O…much more than just an Oline blocking. Losing Fletch also isn’t your typical catalyst to Super season either.

Again don’t think White was the chosen starter FA pick he was a minimum LB signing that was placed as the starter to compete and lost.

And he didn’t stay because he was to busy crying about his role on the team got cut and then had a similar role on the Texans I believe as a backup and isn’t in the SB now(and likely could have been playing in this SB run with Dean down).

Baun was so obviously Fangio’s handpicked choice. Believe our LB coach was a factor there also. Pretty clear the Master Plan was made known to Fangio we aren’t buying or drafting his LB. He HAD to find that diamond in the rough guy to man the job.

I was not happy with the Devin White signing either. It was really being pumped by the Philly media as …big move. Most fans really pumped up their belief in his addition also.

I think it’s right on par with every super season story guys stepping up and playing up to a high level. Even if that means young guys filling the voids of veteran leaders.

And honestly could make the case that if Kelce/Fletch stayed could have held us back they clearly were not the same caliber players as they were in the prime and could argue that the replacements are better now then they would have been

There are plenty of things went great for us. Like I said. Just noting how many non-dream-like non leading to a super season things actually did occur with this squad. Pretty crazy!

Is it a surprise that the former 1st round pick that had starring experience was the guy getting the media attention? Over the guy that had only been a ST player in Baun?

Even though they signed for essentially the same contract. It was clearly the case that we wanted to bring guys in to compete for the starting roles… Didn’t want to just hand the job to Dean again

Who brings back that HC after what was the worst most obvious example of losing his team last season? That was unreal to not only have even been given a chance…but turning out so great.

The only non dream like scenarios I seen with this team at the start of the season.

Bad turnovers to start the season, Maddox situation, Bryce Huff flop, and Elliott bad year

Rest all seems like a dream scenario OL not missing a beat, DL studs stepping up(Nolan stepping up was likely the biggest one we needed with our lack of edges right now)

He clearly was running as the starter in TC from the get go. Was told and believed he was all that only reason he signed here. Exactly why things went like they did when he wasn’t the starter come game one.

See I really didn’t have any reason personally to believe Baun was worthy either. White I was flat out against. But for some reason it was real clear Baun was first choice target by Fangio for the job. With Fangio’s track record there I just kind of blindly trusted that one. Not ever thinking he’d rise to the season he’s had. Definitely wouldn’t try and stretch my blind faith that far.

Again shocker you sign a former 1st round pick and tell him hey it’s going to be your job to lose lol nothing you are saying is shocking 😂. Likely didn’t agree that he lost the job and then cried about it.

Doesn’t really alter the fact it was obvious by the contracts that it was just competition again he had almost the exact same deal as Baun.

Not like we signed white to this massive LB deal and guaranteed him a starter role then benched him and released

Really plenty comes with that position and role in a Fangio D….by design.

Didn’t have to believe in any of them the reality was they were all just cheap flier LB signings the same thing we always do

Bradham cheap LB signing that played above his contract

White- cheap LB signing played above his contract

TJ Edward- similar to Dean rookie we drafted that developed

Baun- cheap signing played above it

And almost positive we signed other LBs those years that didn’t work out as well point being it’s the way Howie does the LB position been the same for years

Like I said all along …I didn’t like the pickup of White. So not a surprise to me. Very disappointed that was the move for our starting LB. He was signed as a starter …not to compete is what I believe…which seems like you say this…but also say it was supposedly a competition. Exactly why he was infuriated and refused a backup role. Would have been a locker room cancer I don’t even doubt. The positive spin is Dean was forced to earn his job this time. Results seemed to workout fairly ideally ….as far as getting the most out of Dean. Was handed anything like he was last season. Which last season made zero sense after he couldn’t even earn any playing time the previous season.

Think your just delusional the contracts say that wasn’t the case

White 1 year 4m

Buan 1 year 3.5m

Clearly Whjte wasnt this superior signing that was just going to be handed the starting job… 100% believe they told him it was your job to lose but it was very clearly a competition and he lost

But still the red flags about Dean’s durability bit. At least he fulfilled the positive sides of leading our D and playing good ball when healthy. I was in favor of the draft pick…liked him higher than where we got him that draft. But even being a fan and wishing for Dean to be that pick? I now have lost much of my optimism with this player. Just can’t hold up in the NFL. This probably will go down as his peak season. Which was nice him playing like he did…good character and locker room guy…but here we are stuck without him because I just can’t see how he can be relied on.

Not quite always the same. He completely ignored the position group last season. His big move to start was about to become a plumber because he knew he was washed up. Been some really horrific team building philosophies taken place at LB here. TJ Edward was a sleeper pick of mine. He worked out very nicely. Think even undrafted? Or super late pick. But just can’t deny when we’ve had any LB play not killing us….we’ve  had very successful seasons and D.

I mean probably our best if you are talking full body of work.
By the time it’s over though Jalen Carter might take that spot

Jerome Brown

Fangio has built such a strong reputation with identifying LBs. Has what I’d describe as a different D than really any other DCs. Different outlook on doing the job on D. Basically a LB whisperer…of fairly legendary levels.
