Imagine being John Lynch...paid all that money for Hargrave and Aiyuk... now he looks like an idiot with the Hargrave contract...and Aiyuk getting injured didn't return on the investment.  Some things you can all put on the GM...but we all knew Hargrave was a bad contract.

I point to the Aiyuck contract as the obvious bad move. Completely got pushed into it for this seasons success. Draft lining up so much WR talent. Even had trade options here. FAs. That move will stick on them here.

Wasn’t the only option. Gotta figured it out. He messed up. We can all kind of understand the Bradberry situation. But it was very clearly a terrible move in hindsight. That this champion squad is dealing with.

Just like in hindsight we can clearly see Howie made the right move not waiting or over paying for Johnson who would only play 3 games in 2023

It is what it is...the football roster is so large...22 starting spots..

25 if you count P, K and LS... you have 31 other teams competing in free agency... and you have 7 rounds of the draft.    You need some luck involved with unexpected players stepping up and under the radar signings that pan out.

Just not that easy to get everything done...it's not madden, real life there are 31 other teams looking to do the same thing, you aren't always going to get your 1st choice... or even top 10 choice.  Even if you got your 11th choice...still have 21 other teams with the same positions to fill on a roster.

Just impossible to go each year without holes on your roster.

See holes can’t happen. Unless your freeing cap season. You can have lesser options…but holes is a major problem.

I don’t even know if I can say that injury occurs here. But I am saying Rosie corrected his mistake this season. That’s the credit he deserves with Ceedy.

Who were the other options in 2023 market? It was an extremely weak FA group.

image wanting to resign your own guy that just help you have top D unit in 2022 and were playing in the SB over the other options in 2023.

If your case is lesser options…that makes it all the more crucial to have gotten done. There were other options. But any position needed to be filled where options are slim? Pretty much tells you what needs to be done.

I mean 32 teams in the league... some of them with almost $100 mil in cap space...even then still holes on the roster.

I wouldn't worry about 2023... it's 2025 now.   The team is set up nicely to win Sunday and compete for a few years.

That’s why I refer to a Master Plan. Each season you gotta look at all the options across the board to make any decision. Not just one move alone. There’s a bigger picture.

One can say....CGJ corrected his mistake by not signing here originally.  Kudos to him.

The other thing about football compared to the other sports.   You can't just be locked into any plan you have in February or March...or really even after the draft.   You have to remain open to how fluid the situation is.  Very unique sport for a GM

Will be a very unique story about becoming a SB champ when we pull this off. So many positives went right for us this season. But so many things that you just never heard about a championship team on the negative side occurred also.

Siri sucks,you forgot that one

Yea Johnson said no and Howie pivoted not lose 2/4ths of the secondary.

and your whole argument is well in hindsight Bradberry was bad in hindsight Johnson tore his pec and played 3 games neither were good signing options in 2023

Our HOF best ever C and leader retires.

I thought Hurts was our leader?

2022 Johnson was a great cheap trade for a 5th and in 2024 was a good signing since he was healthy and aided our D

2023 he was hurt good thing we dodged over paying Johnson for 3 games

Big addition to the WR room in FA decides to retire instead of come play with our Championship squad. Somebody somewhere please ask him how he now is feeling about that decision.

We didn't know we were superbowl bound? How could he know this when he retired?

Even made a trade to get the job done giving up a third round pick for Dotson. Hasn’t really adding anything of significance.

Becaue the QB won't look to the slot, although Dotson got a TD once when he did

Clearly very targeted FA pass rusher to replace our top playmaker threw the big money at Bryce Huff ….barely even worthy of playing a snap or two a game…when not just flat out missing injured. Total bust resulting from that execution of the Master Plan.

You mean the plan we never had?

And want to make it clear again…plenty of great positives occurred with this year’s squad. No doubt. I just was pointing out how I can’t ever think of any dream champion season that had so many things this Eagles squad did. Was far from just everything working out so perfect on a dream season. Which is almost always how SB champion stories go.

10 wins-called it!!!! 🤣

The more stuff that comes out, you really see into how Jeff Lurie did his best job as an owner.

Being patient and taking in all the information from Howie and Siri.   Even consulting a few outside sources such as Belicheck.

You could see each issue get addressed.  Siri’s request for two new coordinators.  One in Moore that was a complete set of " new eyes" with different approach. The other in Fangio that stuck with the philosophy they want, but just more experience.

Then you go to addressing the players and the holes in the roster, but taking in the influence of the coaches.   Fangio  being old schoo  you could tell had zero tolerance for Reddick’s BS and his vision for what Baun could bring.

Addressing the 3 weaknesses in the secondary that had Slay and Blankenship as the best two last year ...BY FAR... now with a complete 5 man stud unit.

The pre planning of drafting Jurgens, letting him sit and then putting him in at RG last year, gearing up to be ready to move back to his natural position where he could excel.

Carter, a stud, just needing a year to mature after seeing what the NFL is about.  Combo with the natural obvious maturing of the other DTs and a guy like Smith on the edge.

Adding Barkley to elevate the skill positions as a whole to clearly the best group in the league.   Then credit Siri for the idea of using a former top pick at G.  Pure physical stud.  The OL from a physical standpoint is much more dominant.

That was a great start, and then the obvious regrouping during the bye week ...finally getting Dejean ready to take his starting job and offensively listening to the OL and Hurts suggestions of simplifying the offense.

Just a great example of...  identifying issues and finding solutions.

No, we had no big picture, there was no progress, Siri sucks, Gains should be cut,10 wins, Detroit was in it from the start, we were not, SF knows what they are doing. C'mon Joe you missed the boat here

Almost like Howie listen to his coaches and players like idk Cam Jurgens who Kelce even stated he told them he really liked don’t think that played a part in the decision to draft him?

Kudos to Siri.......for having the guts to listen to his players, having a huge meeting with everyone, hearing the inputs. Not like iron hand, machine gun Kelly who was "my way or the highway" . Like it or not, it takes guts to turn control over when you know it can help your team, and although you ultimately make the calls, you hear from every angle, then work through to the best solution. Let's recall Siri had ZERO HC experience when hired. It's not a terrible idea to listen to people(players ad coaches) who have had more irons in the fire than you have. That is not a weakness, it's a sign you are smart and are willing to do what it takes to make your team the best. I've seen Siri get outcoached, he learned on the job, even so we have never had a losing season under him. If it ain't broke don't fix it. You can love or hat Siri, but the fact remains whatever he is doing makes our team a success and that's what Lurie hired the man to do. He will take the fan flack, so the players don't. Lurie hired Siri to win games and nobody can deny that he has done his job

Rosie knows the league. Got a fairly tight bead on what’s going on around each team. Can wheel and deal to make whatever occur. Can massage the cap as needed. These are his strengths. Got plenty of them. Need those to be a GM. But he always seems to fail the more he oversteps these.

No, that's a 180,you said Howie sucked and he should have "gone after" every overpaid player you wanted, cap be damned LOL. I love this 180 . Hurts brought AJ here, the Saints deal was stupid, Barkley was tampered with, but now that we are in the SB it's all been backtracked LOLOLOLOL Comedy at it's best

Really with Howie..  you just can simply ask yourself...there are 32 GMs in the league,  who would you rather have?

These agents have egos... they have to show future clients they can get them paid.   In a few cases those egos hurt the client ...CGJ was a perfect example back in 2023.

I think it was just physically time for both Cox and Kelce to retire.

I just assumed because he was talking about failure in the slot. But we never know because there are 37 posts to sift through and I took my shot lol
