Bringing in a rugby coach doesn’t equal football X and O skill.

Seems intelligent to get the guy who know how the play works? Having a basher O line who can make the play work is better?

I’ve personally stepped up and admitted I underestimated Siri…gave him huge credit this season on his growth and maturing that happened right before our eyes. I’m proud of him!

Not until the playoff game vs the Wuss

Would it have been much easier for a first time HC not being and O brilliant mind  to takeover a team with a vet QB like he had in Phillip Rivers? I’d say obviously.

Would it have benefitted a very young QB that hadn’t had back to back coaching to come into learning under a very experienced brilliant O mind that could have h.Prepared to coach and teach him the ways of being an NFL QB? Absolutely!

So I see it as going both ways really here. Both were very green and had to struggle through together to get where they got. Hurts would have been developed quicker under the more experienced O genius. Siri would have benefitted from a vet QB to start his HC career.
But there are so many strengths and areas where Siri and Hurts have worked so well together. More that…than the negative really. Hurts was young….but even keeled and mature. Siri more emotional wearing it on his sleeves. I’d say they both needed to take from each other in many areas like this. They have so much in common though. Those intangible areas especially. The hard working. Driven. Dedicated. Competitive to the bone. Fighters that just won’t quit. Great character just people all the way around. Leaders. Both all about bringing up those around them.

Yep it's always both ways, so you can "call it" Discuss every possibility and you can't be wrong LOL

‘Have patience it doesn’t end with FA or the draft.’

Seems like he’s telling us all pretty darn clearly what he’s planning…without specifically naming the guys he’s actually targeting. Talking about secondary FAs and vet cap casualties…that’s what I’m hearing. He wants to position us to be ready to make those moves.

Like every year, this is getting old now

Mike Renner from CBS calling it one of the worst draft classes.

Results of a lost covid season I would think. Their graduations marched on while they were AWAY from an extra years training. it matters

This is where I’ve been actually leading the way of giving him credit. He got super detailed and perfected a play we were built to dominate on.

Isn’t that when it mattered and stepped up and really cured was the postseason. Especially the NFC Championship game and SB. Those games pretty well highlighted exactly what I was talking about the whole time. Exactly when we needed it to happen. Which is exactly what I was preducting would be the situation. Knew we’d need it. So yeah I was questioning whether we were ready enough to do…what I felt we could have been doing well before..we did it.  So yeah…I manned up and admitted and owned where I was wrong …and gave him credit…he earned. That’s who I am.

I’m trying to be big enough to now look back in hindsight and just observe what has occurred. I’ve been extremely harsh on Siri. Frankly I still believe most of it was accurate. He was very green as a first time HC. That held Hurts back. But at least I’m stepping up to also admit it would have been much more fitting for that green HC that couldn’t teach the X and Os…and wasn’t ready…or wasn’t experienced is just the obvious situation…to have taken over a team with an experienced veteran QB. So I’m saying Hurts being so young and green himself held back Siri too.

See you are too caught up trying to just argue…for the sake of arguing you just aren’t even processing what I’m trying to tell you. There’s no calling it for me here. I was admitting where I as wrong. Stating how Hurts wasn’t just held back by Siri…Siri was held back by Hurts as well. It does go both ways. I’m just manning up to admit where I probably errored a bit in my judgement.

Siri and Hurts have fought through together…is clearly what’s happened..regardless.

Last year he went after big FA Huff, Ceedy and Saquan. Exactly …Totally…. different

FL we aren’t going to sign outside big FAs this offseason. Every seasons situation is unique. This season we have our own guys we will focus on signing. Have big time FAs that will be leaving. So we are going to benefit from the compensatory pick formula. If you lose FAs you get rewarded the next year’s draft accordingly. So we can’t sign outside guys in the first wanes if FA. Not if we won’t to get those extra draft picks. We can work trades. We can sign the secondary portion of leftover FAs that don’t count against the formula. You get it?

Now this is just what I believe… is my own educated opinion on things this offseason. Seems very very likely ….

So how are you feeling about this draft class? Do you feel it’s weak comparatively?

Several draft experts actually mention how there is a bunch of experience in this draft class.

As we winessed the D only needs to be "good enough"(although this one is way better) I would like to keep the O line for Barkley who is our premier player for 2 more years

LMAO from "He needs fired" to this? Like you were blind all year?? You only focus on Hurts and miss the "big picture"  I like how it's all about you again

But the other guy said it was the worst. Which is it? See you play both sides with non committal rhetoric. As I said,if it was me I trade the 32 back unless there is a super sweet player we want(like what happened with DeJean)

Last season we did exactly the opposite…we pounced on FAs right from the get go. Huff, Saquan, Baun…

Yeah I didn’t agree with bringing Siri back. And I’ve owned that. He’s grown and improved. Even mentioned I’m proud of him for doing so. But…I’ve always credited him with going the extra lengths and detailing to perfect The Brotherly Shove play.

I disagree with missing the big picture. It was exactly what my concern was with. Which was exactly what things came down to us needing. I was convinced we’d need the passing part of our O to be hitting to get where we wanted to go …AT THE END. Did we need that….exactly where I was targeting to say we would? Yea…without question. And we had it…and delivered. I give full credit. I thought we had that most all along to be unleashed. We couldhave been doing that much longer.

I agree….seems to be the majority opinion then
