That’s exactly what I keep telling you here. If what you’re saying is already the very understood expectations from the fanbase….then he’s saying this knowing that already….

That should be telling you something…it is for me.

Right...so Howie is saying good morning because it's morning...which we already know.  So it means nothing...correct.

He’s telling you he’s skipping breakfast…but give him time before you completely judge because he has a large plan for Brunch.

See I would think you’d, No Mas, would completely understand all this. You know the whole situation. You know all about our FAs and cap. You understand how the compensatory picks formula works. You understand the situation of extending our own guys early.

So because Jalen Hurts has made the playoffs every season. been runner up for MVP. Been the best player on the field in both SBs. Does that make Hurts anything he’s not? Does that equate to Hurtsthrows the furthest hardest football in league history? Does that equate to Hurts came into the league at the most knowledgable QB ever reading Ds and processing the fastest?
Same way does any of that equate to Siri is great at X and Os? Does any of that make Siri fantastic at self scouting? Does any of that make Siri brilliant at making the needed adjustments? It doesn’t mean any of that. He still is who he is. He brings plenty of great traits to his craft. But the moment we start leaning on his weaknesses believing they are strengths we are sunk.
Just keep growing and improving…but rely on others in areas that aren’t strengths. This applies to Hurts, Rosie, Siri….

Siri is a players coach. Very competitive. Works very hard. Extremely dedicated to football and his players. He’s managed his teams fairly well to have them pretty healthy at the end. Nothing wrong with focusing in on his strengths. But what’s been accomplished …the way it’s been accomplished…doesn’t all the sudden make him some Offensive X and O wizard. When he had very quality assistants at that part we’ve been successful. Just know and understanding that is key.

I’ve personally stepped up and admitted I underestimated Siri…gave him huge credit this season on his growth and maturing that happened right before our eyes. I’m proud of him!

Most everything isn’t all rainbows and butterflies…or opposite doom and gloom. Most everything has strengths and weaknesses..good and bad. I refer to it as reality. Call it like I see it all along the way.

Just seems like the only way to go about things to me

Pointing out the obvious(again)here. Siri and Hurts have accomplished the same winning records, going to the playoffs every season and been to the same amount of SBs. Great accomplishments for both. Both came in to our organization very green. No matter how great these accomplishments however…it doesn’t make either man something they aren’t. It doesn’t mean Hurts has the largest cannon arm in NFL history….it doesn’t mean Siri is some mastermind offensive genius. It does prove they both do possess very many quality strengths. Very likely means they’ve been improving on their weaknesses as well.

Would it have been much easier for a first time HC not being and O brilliant mind  to takeover a team with a vet QB like he had in Phillip Rivers? I’d say obviously.

Would it have benefitted a very young QB that hadn’t had back to back coaching to come into learning under a very experienced brilliant O mind that could have h.Prepared to coach and teach him the ways of being an NFL QB? Absolutely!

So I see it as going both ways really here. Both were very green and had to struggle through together to get where they got. Hurts would have been developed quicker under the more experienced O genius. Siri would have benefitted from a vet QB to start his HC career.
But there are so many strengths and areas where Siri and Hurts have worked so well together. More that…than the negative really. Hurts was young….but even keeled and mature. Siri more emotional wearing it on his sleeves. I’d say they both needed to take from each other in many areas like this. They have so much in common though. Those intangible areas especially. The hard working. Driven. Dedicated. Competitive to the bone. Fighters that just won’t quit. Great character just people all the way around. Leaders. Both all about bringing up those around them.

Basically I think you point to some ways Hurts held Siri back….and Siri held Hurts back. All in all they’ve been growing together and working things out. Always mention those core values…they both are real strong in those areas. That’s key!

Apply all this to Rosie the same. When he thinks he’s a football guy evaluating players and telling coaches what to do…he’s overstepping. When he hires a coach that knows what he’s doing and lets him do his job? Then we win SBs. Rosie always stays very in touch with the rest of the league. He has a great understanding of the market. Great at wheeling and dealing to accomplish whatever the football guys tell him is needed. He understands how he needs to work the cap and wrote contracts.

I think maybe you and I are probably prepared for what’s going to occur more than most actually. But what I’m hearing from Rosie is we are going to earn compensatory picks this FA. So we aren’t bringing in guys to count against that formula, right? He’s pretty much straight up saying a significant part of his master plan will be after the initial FAs and draft takes place. He’s targeting secondary FAs and vet cap casualty roster cut down players.

Idk... I think you don't pay attention to the local sports and what is going on.  That's all the discussion about which one of the 4 main guys do we retain.  All over the radio and TV and every where else.

The whole fan base knows we are losing guys in free agency.

Look at his strengths and weaknesses.

Ideal measurements for an NFL T.

Big long and strong.

Weakness of inexperience having only one full season starting. Unbalanced technique issues still…with technique issues with his hand placement.

This to me reads like a guy Stout can transform into a complete stud. He can’t coach you to have bigger hands with longer arms. He can’t coach a guy into being huge. But he can completely coach inexperience technique issues being the main weakness. More balanced footwork with better hand placement is completely in Stout’s wheelhouse.

How many times have I stated that we all understand this already? That with everybody understanding this he’s stating after that being known. Do we retain any of the four?

Do we keep Becton? I mean really we already have a pipeline of quality G. Obviously have Dickerson.Drafted Keegan who has sounded like nothing but looking good. Already had Steen in place was going to start. When he did come in and play looked ready. Driscoll has proven at least serviceable. Toth looks serviceable as well. Kinnard they kept around for a reason you have to believe they think he’s serviceable. I mean of all the positions…we’d be fine without spending on Becton.

Sweat and Milton earned it and played big time ball for us. Be great to keep either or both. But they look to be big time FAs ready to break the bank.

How much can Baun get from the top bidder? You could argue he was a top five defender league wide this season. He could command 20 mil per big time contract.

With Milton you could say he did it playing next to Carter. We have Ojomo balling out. We have real high pick Davis. Booker looks like he can contribute. Maybe bring back Graham one more season which he can be a pass rushing DT inside.

So which one of these big FAs do we retain? Or do we not retain any of the four? Becton seems like the most ready to take a team friendly contract to stay. But he’s at the position we are most ready to lose a FA at. You, No Mas, even sighted you believe we are about to pay Cam at C. So the easiest most wallet friendly value option in Becton…is probably the least team need option.

Are we letting Slay go?

Any argument against we’ll be looking to cleanup with the compensatory picks we’ll receive by losing big time FAs? That means we can’t sign and bring in any from outside.

Retain Oren Burks I’d think would be a wise move. Not a flashy big name most fans will be excited about.

Avonte Maddox has been the center of tons of complaints…but still it actually would be wise to retain him.
