QB Coach in NFL is a big jump from Bowling Green State but in Howie we trust

I thought he was already in the NFL before?  On the radio they were liking the move.

The defense built to play with a lead.... lol

This quote was about RBs drafting.

But I see your point that you made a little while ago about you saying that you aren't the best at expressing yourself on here.

Because I don't think a stretch for a normal person such as myself... to read your post here and simply think you are talking ONLY DRAFT... since it was the ONLY thing you mentioned.

So 💯 I agree with you....you don't express yourself well.

I’m not arguing against this. I admitted to taking the L on this. What else can I do here for you? Yes….was expressing my thought of the Super Season Saquan effect across the league. Was watching some combine DT stuff…so my first thought of an example was to mention RBs in the draft climbing. I’ll admit to taking the L again if that makes you feel better.

At least it isn't as bad as taking our Oline coach and making him D coordinator lol

You gotta remember though the Juan move was forced by Rosie making AR fire his first choice after a less than spectacular first season at DC from McDermott. Sean McDermott was a heck of a DC choice.
Just adding in the full context that setup that move to occur.

I don't know ...when I went to school we didn't have a class on " assuming what the author meant"   or " reading between the lines"

So I apologize if i don't have the skill to decipher that mentioning one thing actually means about 10 things.

My fault

Loeffler, 50, arrived at Michigan as a quarterback in 1993. Shoulder injuries ended his playing career after he’d appeared in just one game. He transitioned to a student coaching role and stayed on staff as a grad assistant. Brian Griese and Tom Brady have credited Loeffler in helping with their development. Loeffler left Michigan in 2000 to become Central Michigan’s quarterbacks coach. He held the same title at Michigan from 2002 to 2007.

Seems like a potentially decent hire as QB coach. I really admit to not knowing much about him having never following his career before. But there seems to be potential here for a good fit.

Didn’t it just used to be Bowling Green…not Bowling Green State? Or is that just my memory playing tricks on me?

One year as QB Coach for the lions 2008.

I think they just say Bowling Green but the state is a part of the name.

The 0-16 Lions season, and 27-41 as a Head coach at Bowling Green. I don't see successful teams. Hopefully they are not indications of his abilities.

You gotta at least have some hope with Griese and Brady crediting him with really helping them grow at Michigan. Sorry DWD….that’s all I got right now…but it’s something.

Coming out of college-football neither of them were anything special though. I'm at a loss why they really hired him but I'm always hopeful.

I did appreciate how Siri made a mention about all the interviews adding up to sort of coaching seminars for him. So maybe our HC added a few new thoughts from speaking with all these coaches. Maybe gave him some different points of view ways to approach and look at some aspects of his job.

Shhhhh…you don’t want to mention that the great Tom Brady didn’t enter the pros knowing everything already…not  around here….you’ll get pounced on…no players getting paid need to be coached seems to be the running theory with several here. Just keep this between us though.

Yeah I was curious and had to look it up…it’s a state university is why. But yeah I’d always just heard it called Bowling Green. For additional fun facts…it’s Bowling Green, Ohio…..not Bowling Green, Kentucky where the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are at.

Let's be honest...that Lions team was awful....and Bowling Green... don't they actually play a decent schedule?   I always remember them being like the automatic win vs big schools back in the day.

But really doesn't matter... it's all about his impact on one position...the QB.

Now I want to go 🎳

Gotta be honest.... they hired Andy Reid,  Doug Pederson and Sirianni...  anyone expect those guys to have success?

What I'm gathering here....other than trying to force comp picks by having Johnson and Desai as coordinators... they have been pretty good with staff hires lately.   That's reflection of Siri and Howie with Lurie's influence.

His reasoning for hiring Moore was that it was a different set of eyes not looking at everything the same way..  would make sense he would look for a counter point if view from the QB coach being that the OC is an established staff member.

Everyone looking at things the same can make it stale...it's what he was describing 2023 as such.

He didn’t hire Moore…Rosie and Lurie’s guy

But after winning this SB believe Siri got back some serious power to be a part of make hiring decisions

QB coach isn’t the job to get all the fresh O ideas from. That’s a job to focus on technique, fundamentals and that stuff much more…deal with the everyday matters in the QB positional room. I don’t really see Siri and Patullo involving this new QB coach in the playbook. I’d assume Siri will assign him some duty each week in scouting the opponents towards the gameplanning probably. But I don’t see this guy having much of any voice really.

Siri even mentioned with Moore also bringing in Nussmeir how it was very important for him to keep his guy Patullo in place.
