Everyone looking at things the same can make it stale...it's what he was describing 2023 as such. 2023 definitely got stale….couldn’t just run on Steichen’s ideas but for so long. Then inevitably came to a point where self scouting and adjustments were going to be needed…had nothing there. Main addition in 2023 to the O was teaching Hurts to just get down and not risk getting hit.

That’s a job to focus on technique, fundamentals and that stuff much more…deal with the everyday matters in the QB positional room. I don’t really see Siri and Patullo involving this new QB coach in the playbook. I’d assume Siri will assign him some duty each week in scouting the opponents towards the gameplanning probably. But I don’t see this guy having much of any voice really. Which position do most offensive coordinators get promoted from? OL coach, RB coach, WR coach or QB coach? You would think then that if the answer is QB coach... because they deal with reading and reacting to EVERYTHING going on..that it's more than just " techniques " when coaching that position. But I agree the focus is the offense from the QB'S point of view.

It's obvious due to a coach making the SB 2 out of 3 years...all with different OCs...that the year in between...the issue was the OC. Only way not to see that... is if the stick goes up the arse far enough to block the eyes too.

The majority of the time the HC job goes to the top O mind. But really we’ve seen plenty of Siri here. Our new QB coach is going to have a lesser role than Nussmeir had.
February 28, 20251 yr Imagine a head coach making the Superbowl with 3 different OCs.... Imagine the level of idiot one would have to be at that point to question how good the coach is? At that point you would think 2023 would be obvious that Johnson was the issue. But hey... our hall of fame GM didn't even get the WR according to some left field theories...so who knows?

I must live on a different planet....I thought we hired the guy who was OC for the Colts for 3 years? That's after 9 years of prior experience with 2 other NFL organizations as all 3 of quality control, QB and WR coach. Actually seems like WR coach is the position Siri has the least experience out of all his 5 NFL positions...in the 16 seasons in the league?
February 28, 20251 yr It's interesting... who had more experience at the time of hire....Siri, Reid or Pedersen ? Looking at the resume, it would seem Siri had the most experience of the 3. Again though... perhaps a stick stuck far enough up the arse would prevent one from seeing that?

Team wins the SB. How much credit…and where are we giving it to Siri for? You really just appraising how he dug a hole at 2-5…then got out of the way and the exact same team thrived in 2021? I wouldn’t see how. I mean I applauded his growth fighting off being fired last season galvanizing the team. But far from piling most of the credit on to his doing.

They fired Pedey because he wanted to promote his guys. Hired HC that didn’t deserve much power. Then our team collapses in 2023 about the worst I ever seen. It takes some time and after they look at their options they brought Siri back…but demoted. Not sure how them making it clear he could keep his job…but had clearly less power you equated to he gained much more power to hire his choice at OC.
February 28, 20251 yr The fact you are pretending so hard to believe Siri’s main rival to pick HC position being chosen by Lurie and Rosie …the guy pretty obviously Rosie and Lurie would have hired based on HC alone. But Siri had the strong staff to bring with him to beat out Moore. Some how you are trying to spin Rosie and Lurie’s preferred HC candidate over Siri(if it was just about the single individual) was Siri’s choice at OC is delusional.

Like how Siri mentioned how important it was when he got demoted to at least keep his guy on O here with Patulla when Moore and Nussmeir got hired. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why that was specifically so important for him.
February 28, 20251 yr 25 minutes ago, joemas6 said: I'm looking at what all the reporting and quotes say. But yeah…of course any HC is going to act like he’s in charge. Which you should know so much better how Rosie and Lurie work than that. Which I don’t even doubt you do…just not what you are saying though. But….after winning the SB? Now Patullo was Siri’s hired choice. This Bowling Green State QB coach I’m sure was his hire. He has power back now…which he had to earn. So now 2025 will be Siri running the O again. 2024 was some hectic stuff on who was in charge of the O. It was Moore…then Siri jumped back on it…then Moore again late. Anyway..2025…no doubts …will be Siri running the O again.
February 28, 20251 yr Siri running the O again here on 2025. All up to how much he and his whole playbook and scheme as grown and developed. Clearly a huge leap ahead of where he was at in 2021 where it all began. Much more confidence in him now versus then. He wasn’t ready then…which frankly what first time HC ever could be? But he’s had some huge lifting going on to add/fix/grow/develop his playbook and scheme at this point. Moore was such a huge boost in so many ways.
February 28, 20251 yr 34 minutes ago, joemas6 said: I'm looking at what all the reporting and quotes say. Do Siri’s quotes try and reflect he’s always been in charge and making all the decisions? Does anybody actually believe that? But…now…after bringing home the parade…now Siri earned power. Now…he has a large voice in making these decisions.
February 28, 20251 yr AJ was on a podcast with Gillie…stated how if things stay the same they’re going backwards. That’s the NFL. I do believe that..contrary to FL’s thoughts and opinions. So things gotta keep evolving and progressing. Keep adapting.

Siri trying to front like he’s making all the decisions being a HC….has been occurring. Hasn’t just been him. Plenty of HC do this stuff….playing the roles. But absolutely don’t relieve for a second Lurie and Rosie’s guy to be HC…just so happened to be Siri’s first choice after he got demoted and was on the shakiest HC footing possible…accept he had a talented players to work with.

I remember a direct quote from AR to Holmgren of what happened when Favre ad libbed and messed up…AR told Holmgren it was his fault he called it. Favre rolls his eyes being thankful towards AR for doing it. Didn't even get the feeling that Holmgren believed it. But nothing he could do.
March 1, 20251 yr 3 hours ago, joemas6 said: But a direct quote from Siri stating Moore was the first guy he suggested isn't as reliable? I remember Siri saying he chose to hire Moore. Didn’t believe that then. Siri doing that made him look more like being in control making the decisions and being a HC. If we were talking about it being our president of the USA doing it…you’d refer to it as looking more presidential. Siri looked more HC-y. By making it look like he was in charge making all the decisions like the big time HC do. Something this season I actually believe he is doing. Now…after winning the SB…Siri’s got the power to make the decisions…with the FO blessings of course.
