And why would Siri make that..what I see as a slip up…stating it was important for him to keep HIS guy here on O with Pattulo as Passing Game Coordinator?

Then fast forward to this season when Siri actually is making the decision. Was there ever a choice or debate? Siri was promoting HIS guy Pattulo. We all knew it without a question all along. If it’s up to Siri? Patullo is promoted to OC. Would have been exactly the same this past season. But exact opposite footing for Siri. This past season Siri got to keep his job after getting demoted. He was the furthest from getting to choose his OC. He was supposed to be not even running the O at all. All that talk about CEO coach. Not running the O or the D.

But I guess you believe Siri was the one hiring Fangio the whole time also. Siri was going to really boss Vic around. NOT! But Fangio is just a perfect choice here as DC. He’s been through all that stuff. Don’t think he’s looking to be anything more than a great DC from now on. DK whatever on O…have whatever HC…whatever GM….but Fangio is running the D. Siri isn’t telling him all what to do…other than working out some scheduling. Heck Fangio forced more practices and his D guys playing in the PS. Fangio was getting his players in FA and draft.

But a direct quote from Siri stating Moore was the first guy he suggested isn't as reliable?

Not even close to reliable…a laughable cover up you slurped up because you loved Siri so much. Made Siri look like he was the HC in charge….instead of demoted sitting in the sidelines. But hey…Siri didn’t sit back away from running the O very long at all. Through TC and game one was about it. Heck it went from big press conferences announcing Siris demotion as CEO HC….to right after hiring Moore trying to walk it back immediately after that….instantly working his way back in after it clearly wasn’t his guy hired….Siri said something to the effect of ..well…we’re going to keep the good parts of my O that worked and build off that….instead of the original completely Moore’s O coming in.

I mean Moore jumped to the worst NFL HC job possible instead of coming back to a very talented team trying to repeat. What HC opportunity could have worse than the Saints? Any way out….Moore was going. Very clearly without anything debatable about it here.

I believe Siri wanted to hire Moore …about as much as Desai and Slay wanted Patricia. Total disaster setup from the get go completely designed by Rosie. That wasn’t Siri either. Which on that front clears Siri from the clear blame of how terrible that idea was. I get Desai being hired. He was sort of running about the closest to Fangio’s D as could be hired. So him stepping in for what was known as the plan being a single season from the get go. DK didn’t have to change up personnel completely and completely different ..just everything. Closest DC hire as a place holder for Fangio. Exactly why he was hired. But…Rosie never had faith that Desai was any good of a hire…ever. So he brought in what was obviously nothing but an undercutting coach in Patricia. All FO…never blamed Siri for that whole crap setup situation. The very moment Patricia was hired it was so very obvious it was so Rosie could fire Desai somewhere midseason and flip it to Patricia.

Just always obviously a horrible plan. I never once blamed that DC Desai and Patricia move on Siri. That wasn’t Siri at all. Siri said he hired them. But that wasn’t him, When Rosie pulled the trigger and made the switch to Patricia…it was just a dud. Absolutely catastrophic results from an absolutely terrible plan. A plan that was deliberately designed all along. Nobody can be that gullible to have not seen what Rosie was thinking the very moment he hired Patricia. That move was chosen to being made in the offseason…not week 13 or whenever it actually physically occurred. It was always going to happen. It was designed.

Go back and listen to Siri talking about how he wanted to hire Patricia being awesome awesome awesome…think he spoke it three times in a row. Patricia was hired …on the team Siri was HC of…so obviously the situation. Siri didn’t hire Desai or Patricia….don’t put the blame on him at all for that clusterF. A designed clusterF at that.

I remember Siri saying he chose to hire Moore. Didn’t believe that then. Siri doing that made him look more like being in control making the decisions and being a HC.
If we were talking about it being our president of the USA doing it…you’d refer to it as looking more presidential. Siri looked more HC-y. By making it look like he was in charge making all the decisions like the big time HC do. Something this season I actually believe he is doing. Now…after winning the SB…Siri’s got the power to make the decisions…with the FO blessings of course.

I have no reason not to believe what they are were saying and what the reporters opinions are, they know more than me.  I also don't believe Siri was ever in danger of getting fired before the end of this season.  I absolutely believe he is the guy they want setting the culture due to being on the same page as the front office.   They want the CEO type coach.   They like a coach that has the relationships with the players.

Because let’s all be real clear…hiring Patricia was terrible. Switching to him was a complete disaster and failure. Wouldn’t even have a clue how a single person could have any other point of view on that subject.

I know you slurp up everything Siri. But haven’t you witnessed Rosie and Lurie in action all these years? I mean…you know what they do…and how they do it. Rosie calls his coaches in and grinds on them after wins even with his analytics team numbers to tell the coaches what they did wrong.

The guy who made AR fire McDermott. I mean…this is softball cupcake stuff here for anybody been paying attention to our team for any number of years here.

Fired our SB winning HC because he wasn’t going to let Pedey promote the guy he trusted in his QB coach to OC. That QB coach who everybody knows is going to ge a long time NFL coach..brother HC in Cincy.

Imagine how much you would have heard about it from me if I actually thought it was Siri that was the guy pulling the trigger setting up the Desai and Patricia situation. I would have lit into Siri like there was no tomorrow. Siri said he hired them each. Said awesome like three times about hiring Patricia…to undercut the bad hire in Desai…with the added bad locker room fit around Slay. The Patricia hire was a …disaster disaster disaster. Deliberately planned to happen. I’m not putting what Rosie did there on Siri. Wasn’t Siri at all. Siri was the HC and said all the words still though.

I mean really….was there a single doubt…EVER this offseason who was becoming OC? Never…by anybody. It was known all along…if Siri chooses…he’s picking his guy…Patullo. Never Moore..or much anybody else…always was Patullo. After winning the SB …Siri got to choose. Very obvious.

Who was the other guy Siri was ever going to choose? Anybody …else…ever? Nobody..ever. Wasn’t something Siri just decided and felt like all the sudden now. Been that way the whole time.

Oh I don't believe Siri had much input on 2023 coordinators.  The fact it was done for comp picks, I believe gave Siri the Leverage to get new guys in 2024.  You can see that as the easy excuse he would use at his end of year meeting...  " I brought over 2 stud coordinators who got poached, then you guys picked these 2 guys for comp pick reasons in 2023, here is what I would do for 2024.

That was absolutely Siri's leverage for 2024, the fact that 2023 was the front office making those decisions due to how Doug failed them in the same situation.  Siri told them " you guys failed with these picks, they wouldn't have been mine.  Moore is my guy here because he can actually add some stuff.

You waited to give Siri credit a month ago ... why don't you think the corrections all started with that end of year meeting last year?

I think they all did a great job in fixing EVERY issue in 2024.    Name an issue they fixed it.

1.  coordinators, the one who designed the D they like, but adds old school philosophy changing practice habits, the O with some motion stuff

2.  Big Dom on the sideline with a asst coach title so he can't be removed

3. A real RB that can pass block and stay on the field, vut down Gainwell's snaps and he improved

4. Got two stud athletes at CB...and added the safety back that gave the D attitude in 2022

5.  Got more physical on the OL

6. Got legit LBs

You lok back at 2023, those corrections were made ASAP in 2024.  I absolutely believe the genesis and the most important factor in winning the SB, was those meetings with Siri, Howie and Lurie after last season.  Lurie like continuity and sharing ideas.  Howie and Siri gave their ideas, all on same page, from there they attacked the offseason methodically with the idea of fixing all those issues.   One of them was Howie and Lurie letting Siri have more input on his coordinators.  They realized that was one of their mistakes in 2023, forcing Johnson and Desai / Patricia on Siri.

Easy sell for Siri telling them that he isn't Doug, he wasn't the one who promoted a guy from within who wasn't ready, Johnson was their call.... and easy case for him to make how he didn't do his CEO part because he had to baby sit Johnson.

Yeah I dont  really agree with much of that. Siri didn’t hire Fangio. Siri and Rosie didn’t pick the players that Fangio handpicked. Heck…it was very obvious they keyed in on Fangio was the longest term piece. Moore was one and done regardless. So Fangio was given the keys. Regardless of whatever happened…Fangio was beggining to build his D here. Fangio was the longest term piece…well obviously other than Stout…love me some Stout.

The main thing on D Rosie had already decided was Reddick was out and he was replacing him with Huff. I don’t think Fangio really probably said squat about that. Actually hear right from the start how Fangio spoke about every single player. Clear as day Huff wasn’t his choice. He wasn’t completely negative…but real close to being sour…which stuck out when it was about our big FA signing on D.

It just really stick out to me. Things were working differently last season. Fangio had the keys. Something Rosie hadn’t done. Except when he got locked in the closet over your boy Chipper.

Of the staff that Siri brought in 2021... they were all his guys... Johnson is easy to see to was influenced more by the front office to put a familiar face with Hurts.   Easy to see that Johnson was promoted due to the front office as well in 2023.  If you think Siri was in jeopardy of losing his job after last year... then this is the most common sense reason he gave for why he should keep it ... " it was you comp pick loving / trying to appease your QB dopes... that picked the coordinators.  Let me pick mine this year and we will go from there wit these other issues.   Siri gave his ideas of where he thought Howie messed up with the roster, and agreeing on their suggestion to have Big Dom have a title where he can stay on the sideline.

But I can see where you would disagree, you don't like either guy so it's difficult for you to assume both Siri and Howie could self assess well enough and understand their mistakes.  When you can't get past 2019 cap issues and 2021 play calling here in 2025... its obvious you will never believe these guys could admit/ realize their own mistakes and fix them.  I think both are good at their jobs, but also realize they are young guys and don't have all the answers with plenty of room to grow!

2019 Howie and 2021 Siri are not their peak levels, just tough for you to get past that fully.  You will never realize how good they are compared to their peers because you can't get past mistakes made in previous years.

You think that everything came from the meetings after last season where after some days Rosie and Lurie even talked to Bellicheat?  Decided they’d have to change absolutely everything if they fired Siri to hire Bellicheat. Coaching candidates were absolutely bleak last offseason. Or they would have hired a new HC. So after they chose to not completely rip up the whole organization …probably even down to scouting departments for Bellicheat. They made a decision to bring back Siri. But only if he stayed on after being demoted. Fangio completely in charge of the D. Hiring the best OC they could…taking control of the O. Siri was out. CEO HC.

I don’t think Johnson, Desai or Patricia were Siri hired either. We agree there. But rumors everywhere Siri was running the O in 2023 bulldozing Johnson the whole way. Not much at all about the O was reflecting of Johnson. 2023 was Siri. Which he rode the Steichen wave to start the season. Really wasn’t ever any impressive playcalling, scheme or coaching going on with the O. Very few plays. Playcalls given away by formations even. Really pretty pathetic from that standpoint. It was…Hurts avoids pressure to buy time to hit Smitty or AJ deep. Street ball playmaking from our excellent character players that are completely die hard winners. No matter how bad our opponent…we squeezed out tight victories each week…. to 10-1. That was 90 percent players getting it done. Overcoming. Absolutely fantastic job by our players to be 10-1 in that situation. Very few people seem to have understood what occurred there. Our players were complaining  and understood.

First point…no so sure Steichen was Siri’s guy. Now I’m not going to pound the table all over this point. He’s definitely fitting in the less is known category of his hiring. Gannon was with Siri. Main reason Siri got the HC job over Moore. Rosie loved Gannon…I believe more than Siri even.
But…my point of view was they did talk to Bellicheat. He was the only real decent choice as a HC replacement. So they kicked the tires on him. But hiring him meant completely ripping up everything that had been built. Kind of a real direct slap in the face of Rosie. Plus what HC hire threatened Rosie more? Bellicheat represented exactly the closest hire to repeat the Chipper situation for Rosie.

So being in a terrible cycle for hiring a HC…Bellicheat was the only other option, he meant ripping up the organization…plus biggest threat to power. But Lurie isn’t a hire a HC for one season move guy. They chose to hire a DC in Desai like that..but not a HC. So then they sat Siri down. Explained to him…he could still be HC…but was being demoted. Less power and control. CEO HC that was going to have his O, D and ST being run for him. We’re hiring our choices…but you can stay on..if you agree to this.

They had Fangio lined up to be hired. Not Siri choosing him. Then got their second choice of HC in 2021 Moore hired as OC to run the O.
