You believe that somebody…maybe even us…should have paid Becton 22 mil? No way….just different level of players. Cam getting sixth best C money is a big legit payday for him.

Let Howie decide that it;s not up to you

Becton was average until we got him in here,he will be average again

Yeah I’m flat just moving on to the next option if you want to start speaking Mailata and Lane money for Cam.

Lol...there is the Ham we all know..  don't listen to another poster and just twist the words and go to the extreme.

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2025/josh-conerly-jr  This kid is there at 32,what do you do(could be a RT or RG) They are assuming "pro bowl" caliber) It would be an interesting choice

Give him open market Becton G money..at C. Seems pretty darn good and life changing to me.

Again....you don't seem to understand the concept of long term extension...locking up your player... solidifying the core of your team.

Becton didn't get a long term, lock up your core player...market rate contract.

He got a prove it deal.

If you want to lock up Cam long term...or any player long term as part of your core... you gotta pay real money.

Becton settled for 2 years,  because he can make more later... he wasn't going to sign for 5 years at $10 mil per.  He wasn't made a long term offer.

Do you want to lock down Cam or nor?  If you do,then you gotta pay.  There isn't another option.   He will be 26... if you lock him in and extend 4 more years... he plays at 26-30, years 4-8 of his career.. the absolute prime.  Prime of a guy who made pro bowl year 3, first year at C.

That's the exact type of guy you look to lock up...and do it in a way that benefits your cap.

No,Ham said he is just above average. Let's blow up the line at C, also needing a RG and a replacement for Lane just ahead. Just eff it all up being in your SB window for 2 more years(at least) You are missing the (non existent) "big picture"

Top dollar prices will always be a bargain in comparison…water is wet…..sky is blue

How does paying top dollar somehow become a bargain?

Every year the cap goes up and prices get more expensive

Steen was already drafted for RG…probably could have played there all three years. We’re fine. They just took a big swing at a first rounder from the Texans. Keegan is looking like he’s a very capable option…if he takes the expected leap year two under Stout. Toth can handle either G/C and we won’t have any massive cratering.

With Cam that shouldn’t be an option here though…not top dollar. Above average very good money…conceding the five figures.

And I’m applying that towards heavy guarantee…not Make Believe BS numbers.

But just take your emotions out of it for a minute.

How impossible would you believe it will be for our Eagles to find a C that can perform and do well under Stout with these teammates?

What’s the drop off between Cam and the next option we would fill his absence with?

We are talking not midseason all of the sudden switch….but preplanned…time to make all your options(draft, FA,trade…)

You just gotta have a line somewhere….at over 14….I’m looking towards the next. Willing to concede 10….considering all the positives.

While squeeezing all that out for Cam….can we just get few millions over toward Blankenship..some how…some way? 21 mil for a top paid S….we aren’t going to pay him that. That’s where the lead of the market is currently. Can we get him like 5 mil maybe at least here? Is that asking too much?

Right so then you understand if you want to lock up a player until 2029... you don't offer mediocre 2025 money.

Then you don't want to sign him long term.  Because his agent would get fired taking $8.5 mil.

Cam’s good, tough…can be a part of a championship team…on and on…he’s not record setting elite Oline guy though. He’s above average!

18 mil per is currently the top average per year at C...2025 rates.    Other guys will push that envelope...multiple times before 2029 ( if you are looking at a 4 year extension)

You can't offer half of that ....and assume to lock up a pro bowl 3rd year C long term.  You can offer that for one year....which would be dumb for the agent being the tag # is way higher.  On the open market Cam could make a lot more...being it would be 2026 rates.

Offer the long term at $14 mil per for the new money..that's currently right at the 2nd highest level and by the time you get to 2029 it's probably right in the middle.   You can redo the contract before then anyway.

Then you don't lock him up and you choose to lose him after next year.

Williams got 26 mil per.... not even a starter.  Half the snaps getting paid stupid money.    Cam will get at least half...if not more.  Imagine he gets another pro bowl.   2 more than Williams.   No shot his agent is taking $10 mil for long term where he can't get more than that until 2030?   No shot!

Then your plan is to let him go.   It's OK for that to be your opinion.   Because again...you aren't getting any long term deal at average numbers.

Show me the last long term deal that a pro bowl 3rd year player took at mediocre current market rate?

So your plan is to have Cam one more year and get a comp pick when he walks.
