Hard to know who is "willing" some college schemes they are never asked to or rarely are, so how do you gauge what you don't know? Anyone can be willing if the paycheck is there

Usually it's in the film or when they talk to the coaches.... why the interview is important

Was talking about him at family party over the weekend with one of my cousins son who follows.  Apparently he is someone people think we could get.   What are his attributes?

I posted his video a page or two back

We've visited with a slew of TE's. I don't see any major blockers most are receiving types,so anyone we get will be a "willing" blocker because we will ask them to do it and they may not have been asked in college

I think we are interested in everyone.   It seems we have been all over the place the last few drafts which makes us unpredictable....which I like.

Some very specific shown interest here though I’m stating very obviously signs of. Why else are you going to Bowling Greens Pro Day? Plus we’ve already actually been around him. But then there’s the fact we just hired his HC to get any needed intel from. I’m seeing sending scouts to his Pro Day in our situation with all these circumstances as a very large sign of interest.  Like he seems like the most likely of any draft prospect we’ll draft I’m stating.

Once again you need to be careful. It's a mediocre league, many times that makes a player look better than he is. His block rating is 56 LOL)worse yet)

So then if my type isn't there... we need someone with an elite skill in the receiving game.

YAC or route running....combined with great hands.

It's settled then, we are getting Aroyo because we haven't talked about him HAHAHA

That would be Mason Taylor who got the same receiving skills training as JJ and other LSU WR's

BUT…this kid does look pretty darn dynamic…huge ceiling. But doesn’t look great as a blocker. He does fit right in to taking over the YAC Creation Goedert role perfectly however. Which isn’t a typical TE trait.

IDK if he was asked to block. I didn't get to see the TE;s at the combine. I had an emergency

So either the stud with size and catch radius... or the YAC guy....Maybe someone who can move around the formation.

https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Mason-Taylor-TE-LSU  67 blocking,better but not great,then again it's the LSU offense so......

That’s why I was asking where does each TE fall in this draft? Clearly a huge looming factor in the discussion. Ferguson seems to be the last of the group. Taylor you’ve mentioned could be high second round.

So if there isn't a guy that does both of what Goedert brings....blocking and YAC....then we get the YAC guy...and use him all over the formation.

Gotta bring something to help the O on his own.

Fanin would be the YAC guy

Once again he didn't face top competition in that league. I would tend to go with a big school pick where they faced what is closer to NFL competition

Just saying that’s what his traits are. He ran Jet sweeps and TE screens. Very specific YAC Creation plays

  • Willing blocker who comes off the ball with proper pad level - showed steady improvement in this area throughout 2024 season.

How any of them translate to the NFL is another discussion

This kid is the best fit IMO(Arroyo)

Penn St and Michigan TE are too rich for our blood. Seems overwhelming consensus. But I’m finding it real hard to get a precise read on the others.
