Money can change people, sometimes not in a good way. Maybe that's why they have rook contracts so you don't go headlong into disaster. I mean it would hurt to bench that guy but you could survive it(see MS2) LOL

That’s exactly what I’ve worried about with Carter. He’s been doing very well. But …when he gets that huge mega payday. Almost every person has to adjust and doesn’t handle that situation ideally. But his windfall? What’s he going to do with it?

Look at the O line, they get stronger as they play together, you support the guys you play with. Same with the D line, they all need to succeed

So along the Oline…do we have dedicated great character guys? Or is it knuckleheads trying to work together? It matters

He is one of the D line not the whole D line LOL. What if Carter goes down?

That’s my point. What if Carter starts clowning around with some fool we bring in? What if he buddies up with some thug…or player that cares about football last?

https://factually.co/fact-checks/sports/walter-nolen-character-concerns-1f4d84 IDK they are avoiding really talking about his issues. They mention he has injury issues as well. IDK what the character issues are they aren't talking much

It's something to consider for sure. I had him at 32 once, but as you say IDK if he's worth the risk. We could be one of the teams who already removed him. You know we advocate for strong character and good grades. I personally would avoid him,but I don't own the team

Just feel Carter is especially susceptible to straying the wrong path. If he was just some average player…just try to help him and it is what it is. Want to help every player succeed obviously though. So even a backup player is supply any assistance I could for him. But this is the best DT in the league. What would be going to far to make sure Carter continues to dominate? My line would be way way way far of hoops I’d pay attention to making absolutely sure.

Like I said….went to the levels of id pay Davis and extra two mil a season if that’s what it took to keep getting what we get out of Carter.

That's why I changed my mock from him to either Harmon or Grant

I'm not paying players to do therapy work

Jurgens is becoming more solid, you thought it would be a disaster when Kelce retired. he got a ring already and he didn't do that alone

You are misquoting me completely. I stated the very obvious…he wouldn’t be the stud HOF Kelce is first season at C. See…Captain Obvious stuff once again. Jurgens was ok. Got the job done. Was it a downgrade from Kelce exactly like I said? Of course. Kelce was top three C at the end. Jurgens is above average first year at C. Kelce had much more responsibilities also.

A real man stands on his own. he will make enough to pay his own therapy, but maybe we are one of the teams who already removed him. We talked to him early on

LMAO pretty rare when you are a pro bowler HOFer in your rookie or year 2 year. Was kelce a pro bowler then,or did he get better over time?

If Carter hasn't matured by now he shouldn't be here

So you just are taking that approach? Yeah…not me. I’m not just …hope he steers correct on his path. Losing what he can do completely downgrades our team. That would be devastating if he strays. You just can’t replace Carter. Look…we identified where his weakness is. We’ve clearly seen that with the most ideal surroundings and environment? He’s the best DT. So why wouldn’t you keep that going?

Why Howie tries to stagger guys. he kinda got caught last year and we lost a bunch but we went "all in" for the SB ring

We need more than 1 DT dude

I would pay another DT to keep Carter on the right path. Not sure what price I can even place on it. I’m going to continue being very proactive with our investment in Carter. Heck…should be proactive with every player to succeed. But Carter? He’s our best player. There is no replacement.

It's sports here not Dr.Phil

I didn’t really slam Jurgens. Any player taking over for a HOF was going to be a downgrade. Just very obvious statement. No slam….just first year…too high a bar..for anybody.

Hate to say…it kind of exactly is Dr Phil. I doubt Carter is on the path he’s on right now on any other team.

But boy the results that guy can deliver!

I think Harmon goes too high, grant could be within reach. I also like TJ Sanders

That’s why I asked you….how important is Jalen Carter?

Did we pay extra to the other D line guys for him? I refuse to pay for therapy

The 53 are the most important. Reddick was cancer and he's gone. Huff was an expensive mistake, and high dollar bench rider

Carter guarantees a single blocker on the other DTs. Edge players benefit from the attention and havoc he creates. You think Baun and Dean don’t massively benefit playing behind him?

I believe our whole pass rush goes to poo without Carter. LBs are getting muddied up with blockers. Secondary obviously benefits from the Dline pressuring.
