I thought it was close. But Steen got injured. Becton just didn’t surrender the job once he got in. Plus you knew Becton was going to improve with each snap at the new position. Heck…Steen is a huge man….but Becton? We wore opponents down being physical. Becton was far from perfect. But when he got the guy? He pulverized him,

Yeah cap casualy along with many others. like I said Howie risked going all in. It worked but now we pay for the losses or resurrected and good performances. Just like Losing Moore,it's part of the game. everyonr wants a ring

If they don't cut it,they go away

I’m real real real invested that this doesn’t happen with Carter.

Don’t understand your point. But just look at Foles. Wentz was more talented. But the guys rallied around Foles. Just like when Hurts came in for Wentz. You could even notice defensive guys hitting harder and believing.

Right, it's finding guy who fit, who will play together. That's why they are called "units"

We signed him for one season. Sure we didn’t pay him after Stout fixed him. But we did earn a comp pick. So got a starter AND a draft pick. What else could you wish for from a early round bust?

Hard to know seems like he is doing well now. Remember Lane almost quit for(as I recall) some mental "issues". but he manned up and got them fixed and now will play yet another 3 years hopefully

Exactly. Carter situation needs extra. Keep him on the right path. Not saying coddle him. But give everything possible for his success. Don’t risk losing him.

We could have re-signed him,we chose not to do that. I wish him well, happy we could resurrect his career and I'm sure he appreciates it

How is drafting another DT losing him? We need more than 1 and he's aware of that

Totally. Lane too. Give him everything he needs. Got him help. Made him comfortable and not ashamed to admit and talk about it. Let him skip a couple of games to get his mind right. Willing to go the extra mile for such special players like that.

Right we didn't pay anyone did we? he got his head right, all that matters. I really wasn't expecting an extension either LOL

I thought Steen was better in some areas even. But we would have needed to not just pay him….but give up the draft pick comp. The key here isn’t Becton…or Jurgens…or whatever. It’s Stout. His succes rate is not to be questioned. A few misses. But overwhelming pro bowl development

Well actually….Lane didn’t like small guys beside him. So we went and got Steen. Becton plopped in our lap. So yeah actually pretty specifically went after guys that worked next to Lane the best.

I'm fine taking a round 3 developmental RT. Maybe a guy who can spot play some or who can compete at RG in the interim, but it s a nice OT/G draft also

My point was don’t draft Nolen and mess with everything created so ideal for Carter to thrive. Him thriving is worth three DT

RG/swing T a guy big enough to take over in 2-3 years. We have time, but it's a nice O line draft as well as D line

Once again I already said I removed Nolen from my mock. We only need 1 DT? No one to learn and spot play? no depth guys? You want to risk that? Howie won't

I’m sure we will. I’m not thinking it’s a need. My focus is ‘All In’ for the next two seasons. Saquan and Lane very key to our success only have that.

I’m totally fine with mortgaging the future for the now. Not making a bunch of moves based on four years from now situation. If in four years we are in cap he11? I’ll take it.

I totally believe in taking things much further. I want to trade future high picks to put together the best team we can today. Whoever we get from the trade will still be here next year also.

2027 first rounder? Let’s move up the board now

We have Ojomo and that's it really and although I like my round 1's to start the young studs need to sit sometimes. They can rotate in sometimes. I see no reason to let a good one slide. We need another edge too. My point is if you want to go "all in" the next 2 years you need a guy who can step in right now if either one goes down with an ankle or whatever

I'm not certain Ojomo is that guy

I was referring to your thoughts about prioritizing RT backup drafting. We both like Belton. Fine with that.

Elijah Roberts(SMU) interest me, he can play DT or DE/edge. He's a late one too. Hard to know. Howie did say his board is his board and he will take the best player regardless of position

Yeah a few others in that area also
