So we have some work to do on the D line and we can't forget the RG. Steen got beat out by Becton,so I can't just write him in

Did we pay extra to the other D line guys for him? I refuse to pay for therapy

He thrived with us having them here for him. That much is clear. When everybody was questioning him about all that otherwise.

Carter guarantees a single blocker on the other DTs. Edge players benefit from the attention and havoc he creates. You think Baun and Dean don’t massively benefit playing behind him?

I believe our whole pass rush goes to poo without Carter. LBs are getting muddied up with blockers. Secondary obviously benefits from the Dline pressuring.

And another top DT would cause havoc because which do you double team?

So let’s say Davis wants 12 mil a year extension. When we’d want to sign him at 10. Suck up the extra two mil….just to keep Carter rolling.

I'm paying for production not a therapist

What other DT does what Carter does? The others thrived because of his attention. Clearly the most important D player. Without him? Every level of the D takes a big hit.

How do teams run on Carter and say Grant/Harmon? Pretty much makes every team 1 dimensional, but do you want to throw into our secondary?

I’m paying for Carters production. Whatever it takes pretty much. I’m definitely not risking messing that all up by drafting a knucklehead for him to pal around with.

I already said I took him OFF my mock

That’s why I actually posted this out. Feels strange to me also. But…in this specific situation….its needed…and the results by creating this environment are stellar.

You do you. I was liking him also. But as soon as I heard about his red flags. Nope…not on the Dline around Carter.

He needs to man up or GTHO of football. pretty simple, it's not HS anymore. Remember Manziel? Johnny football? FAIL

Look at things this way. Let’s flip it. Are you just seeing the stats individually Carter produces as all he does for us? Or are you seeing how he completely makes everybody better?

So you aren’t just going to be willing to pay him because of however many sacks. Milton kicked butt because he was beside Carter. Baun was clean to run and make plays behind Carter. Nolan had a much easier job. On and on

he gets paid for production, you can argue all day what "production" is. we draft INDIVIDUALS not entire lines and you have to make the guys fit. I mean you can't say our first pick is Ohio state(all of them)

So I’m wiling to pay Jordan ..or whomever …makes others around him better. In this case…he gets Carter to focus and dedicate…with a good positive vibe.

If he makes others better than that is production for me. it's how they play TOGETHER. Our first SB was a collection of misfits really, no stand outs but they played as a team

Production individually, as a unit and as an entire D. There is so much more than just going out there and playing alone. Plenty of guys just do that. But the elite leaders …they bring so much more. Go workout by Lane or Hurts…and believe you’ve done all you can after 15 minutes. Sleep in the meetings around these leaders. Guys can bring negative effects also. See TO. His production didn’t decline. He was making our whole team worse…while still running and catching as fast as ever.

We draft INDIVIDUALS

I thought it was close. But Steen got injured. Becton just didn’t surrender the job once he got in. Plus you knew Becton was going to improve with each snap at the new position. Heck…Steen is a huge man….but Becton? We wore opponents down being physical. Becton was far from perfect. But when he got the guy? He pulverized him,

Don’t understand your point. But just look at Foles. Wentz was more talented. But the guys rallied around Foles. Just like when Hurts came in for Wentz. You could even notice defensive guys hitting harder and believing.
