No it wasn't. We gave him the opportunity to play a real game and he looked good and he would have played well if Hurts went down. Tanner also looked good, meaning there was no reason to keep both. You yourself said Tanner was the longer term, so we moved Pickett and got some assets for him. Not real hard to understand. A logical move to free up a spot for McCord

In the event Tanner BOMBED we still had Pickett for another year. Just very smart by Howie

And when the star of SB LIX goes to extend his contract, what will be discussed will be his accomplishments and the team’s accomplishments, not a label.

What you are arguing for is for Taylor Swft to be paid less than male singers/artists because her label is woman … or Shirley Temple to be paid less than adult female actresses because her label is girl.

The star of the entire season and OPoY got a raise…still wasn’t paid like anything but a great RB

There are 134 FBS football teams and every one is entertaining, and almost all of them have rosters that are more than 50% larger than NFL rosters. There is no shortage of talent. 134 versus 32 … pretty straightforward black and white numbers.

All a matter of standards. You can feel like talent is super abundant and nonissue. But I totally disagree. Just simple ….less teams equals higher talent on the field

Foolish. No idea where you came up with that crap. They literally negotiate every contract comparing already signed players at the same position.

The only pay scale for non rookies is league minimums established by the NFLPA. If there was a scale why would you need to negotiate? You can COMPARE between players but there is no set scale. What Matt said is not "crap" it's fact LOL

The exception does not make the rule.

No idea how you think this made any point for you. But the exception guy at any position actually is the guy that drives up the price for the others.

Why are you so concerned about what DeJean gets paid??????

That's 3 posts regarding this....and none with the actual name of the $13mil slot CB. You keep making my point by refusing to say the name. No wonder he isn't paid 30 million

Myles Bryant….i know of tom of players league wide

Sure guys coming out of college high. But they really had sunk the talent pool adding all these new teams back awhile ago. Finally just catching up.

Was 28 teams in the 80s.... 40 years ago. It's catching up now?

As compared to Cooper Dejean being a name player. Everyone knows him... he will get paid.

Paid as top at his position. For Barkley meant peanuts compared to every other position.

5th post..no name yet....another point for Joe

At what point did names matter at all here?

Like Stingley even got beat out by annother outside CB..,doesn’t it matter the name?

So really No Mas you missed it again. You look to broad and missed the key details with our franchise:

Yeah.... I missed it ...you were right on all season....lol

We had a real good backup. The trade for Pickett actually got in Tanner’s way. Tanner is the longer term Eagles development:

There is a point. ...where one should understand its better to stop talking .. idk, I'm just amazed at times

Not similar at all. # of players is not close and there are no PPR points nor yardage points scored in the NFL. Terrible example

It’s a great comparison for you to understand. If a 12 team league has massive bench room? Talent pool gets wiped out. You can’t just go to waivers and grab anything decent. You keep the bench space lower the talent level available is much better.

Joe, it is interesting to drill down into Ham’s example. EndiveRGHere’s the Texans depth chart.

IMG_9993.jpeg

Stingley and Lassiter are the Outside CBs and Pitre is the Nickel/Inside CB

As Ham has correctly noted Stingley is paid $30 million per year and is the #1 highest paid CB in the NFL. As shown in the OTC chart, Pitre is paid $13 million and is the #23 highest paid CB in the NFL. Lassiter is paid a bit less than $2.3 million and is the #73 highest paid CB in the NFL.

To recap, Inside CB paid $13 million per year and Outside CB paid $2.3 million per year. As Arte Johnson would say, "Verrrry interesting, but...”

7th post...no slot name yet

Irrelevant completly. Sad you tried to make that a crucial element. Doesn’t matter names….its positional NFL pay

They need this in the nba

12 posts on the subject....couldn't answer a simple direct question.

Yet " I would annihilate you in a debate " lol

Yeah…easily…you make zero point. Name means what?

Myles Bryant….i know of tom of players league wide

13 posts to finally say it

Justin Jefferson(you didn't specify O or D LOL)

His position is WR. Highest paid nonQB. You think he’d except less than WR pay?

Barkley got paid as a RB...DeSean will be paid as a CB.

The terrible argument is you think you know it all. Who gives a crap about where DeJean plays? That's FANGIOS job to decide not yours. And if you are unwise enough to believe his agent is telling Fangio where to play him, you are thicker than I thought. Howie will pay for value received no matter where he plays. I would also suggest the flip side(which I did not research) that CB's also get injured more than slot guys? Would that be a fair assumption? IDK why you just can't let the PROFESSIONALS do their jobs. Which position "annihilated" KC in the SB? And a rookie to boot

Easy to destroy this whole non logic. Saquan killed it. So he got great RB pay

Not WR money…or QB money….positional elite pay only

This all already has been going on this offseason. You’ve missed it. It happened. Seems like at least we worked out a compromise:
