It was every single Eagles fan whole understanding that Rosie was collecting those First round picks looking to go big for a QB.

It was every football fan who understood that New Orleans was desperate and gave the Eagles a gift of a one sided trade.

If the Eagles could make that trade EVERY YEAR...pushing back a 1st round pick each year..for a 3rd and a 2nd round pick 2 years later...each year we get an extra 2nd and 3rd round pick. You do that trade EVERY YEAR. Has zero to do with QB

Football growing in popularity is one thing. Doesn’t mean every football game is top level best product though.

Top level best product is irrelevant to the NFL. The networks pay the NFL for the size of the audience they deliver, not for the quality of the product. The vast majority of the audience don’t know the difference between what you have described as top level and just ordinary level. Top quality is wasted.

His position is WR. Highest paid nonQB. You think he’d except less than WR pay?

Right, he was an eilte slot receiver and he got paid which destroys your "theory" that slots(either offense or defense) don't get paid. I still want to know why you care what DeJean gets paid

Because it’s a key issue effecting us very much…in case you clearly haven’t been noticing.

How is it affecting you?

Yeah you missing everything. It might be too complicated for you to learn from me. But no doubt in my mind on this. Teams will just stash and protect as many players as they can. IR or 53.

SO at the same position player 53 is WAAAAAAAY better than player 54? You totally missed the point which we are used to

You guys really struggle to understand and see how a couple less teams would raise the talent pool for each game and every team?

We understand your argument very well, but it would reduce the NFL’s revenues, which is contrary to their business model. What business wants to make LESS money?

48 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said:

Just real easy concept. If there were only ten NFL teams just imagine how good the games would be.

And how much less money the NFL would make.

See there was NFL Europe. Canadian Football league…,you watch and love CFL?

NFL Europe failed due to lack of consistent fan bases. Do you watch and attend and love US rugby games? The CFL is comprised of lesser talent than NFL BU's yet there is enough talent to warrant an ENTIRE league in Canada? What is the population of Canada compared to the US?

Actually the games wouldn’t be any better. The improved Offenses and the improved Defenses work cancel each other out and the games would have very similar scores to the scores they have now. If the Defenses improved more than the Offenses then the scores would actually be lower.

It's so complicated you have no idea what you are talking about LOL

Isn't that what we pay Howie for? To figure out that value?

2002...the NFL Expanded to 32 teams...there was absolutely some high quality level seasons in there...but I agree not so much lately. But I don’t think it's that the talent went down from then. Definitely rush jobs trying to build winners too quickly. Throwing guys in when not ready....and some just poor jobs building rosters.

I also think the schemes have gotten influenced by college ball in order to rush QBs etc. Not good for the quality of the game IMO.

Tanner would have developed more and gained more experience without Pickett. Plus clearly Tanner was better than Pickett. Exactly why we traded him away. But trade for Pickett forced us in our Super Season to play and turn to Pickett over Tanner. Which was clearly the lesser guy, forced to go to what deserved to be our third string QB

Lost.......in space

Yeah when you defend trade for Pickett. Tanner was better. Already here. But trade for Pickett meant he was coming here for the backup job without question.

Tanner was unproven before the season started why can't you understand this?????

Yet…not what happened. Plus look at how scripted the answers surrounding the situation are and were

And scripted answers are important because?

With respect to scripted answers, You may want to read the following:

"The Eagles were thrilled when they were able to hire Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator a year ago. He led the defense to the #1 ranking and helped the team win Super Bowl LIX in dominant fashion.

The success wasn’t just based on X’s and O’s. Fangio showed a good feel for personnel. He had the idea to turn Zack Baun into an ILB. Fangio embraced his rookie defenders. He put Quinyon Mitchell into the starting lineup immediately. He got Cooper DeJean on the field as soon as he was healthy and ready. Fangio worked Jalyx Hunt in during the season and had him ready for a key role in the playoffs. He got the most out of role players like Isaiah Rodgers and Oren Burks, with each guy having to fill in due to injuries.

Fangio doesn’t BS anyone. He’s candid about players. He compliments them when possible. When there aren’t good things to say, he will talk about their issues or at least make it clear they aren’t getting the job done. You don’t have to guess much with Fangio. That’s what made his comments on Tuesday so interesting.”

It was mostly about Wentz the franchise guy falling off a cliff

Fangio pleaded to the media that he wanted DeJean to remain inside

Pleaded LMFAO. since when does the media make team decisions? A Hamityville classic

So after winning the Superbowl with the totally dominant season... you are upset with swapping Roman Wilson plus two 7ths for Shipley, DTR and a better 7th?

That's what has you all angry?

I’m not angry. You just labeled it such a successful trade. Which it wasn’t

I also think it solidifies Rosie’s thoughts about Pickett.

DeJean going into year 2...that contract is effecting our entire D? Really?

Yeah it’s going on until he’s extended. So year two really just the first tiny least important glimpse of the issue.

No anger. Just ditched Pickett for Tanner. Proving we were being held hostage by that trade some. Forced to have Pickett numnber two when clearly we believed in the guy we already had more.

Untested and unproven Tanner was here. Going with an untested and unproven player at the most important position is a MASSIVE risk. You would have taken that risk and I would have taken that risk, but smart football people would not have. They would have mitigated the risk … taken out an insurance policy, which was what Pickett was.

Do you have car insurance?

How ....he makes peanuts? What planet are you living on?

Was this referring to Saquan? Yeah OPOY…best NFL player….making backup money at other positions.

Talent on the field isn’t important to the NFL. Size of the audience is what is important to the NFL. More cities means larger audience and more revenues.

Ham can't pass economics 101

49 minutes ago, joemas6 said:

So how does his small salary change things for the defense?

Because he’s forcing to get snaps outside. Just smart obvious good business. Instead Fangio wanted him inside becoming that ultimate chess piece.
