It’s too early to define this kids whole career already IMO. So I’m not trying to completely do all that. But feel his unbelievable huge ceiling of potential he was so touted over as a high school recruit all the way through the NFL draft is diminishing at this point. He’s just never going to become a quality starting caliber TE at this point. I am ready to codemn that much now.

My decision is OVERRATED…by far at 40….verdict is in. Terrible point you attempted there. Following along like a lemming with others bad assessment …something I just don’t have any part in. However many ‘experts’ ranked him as 40th ranked overall player…with LaPorta at 55? They were all terribly wrong. Terribly..terribly…so wrong. Was just that obvious to me before that draft even took place.

I just don’t look at things so rigidly. I can see ways to utilize most any talent any players bring to the table. I understand how much a receiving threat weapon can actually open up and assist the run game. It’s not all leather helmet must go heavy and block our way to gain rushing yardage. A guy that’s a threat in the passing game demands respect and coverage. That’s a defender not focused in on stopping the run. Heck maybe even get a S or other second defender held up by one step from breaking against the run because of a receiving threat.

I didn’t say they were all..all that. Actually my point was more believed the problem was they were likely going too high for us to grab.

But…easy answer for you…some how you missed how we kept this guy named Dallas Goedert instead of trading him away. Which I believe was partly because of the TE draft situation and how it was to unfold.

Didn’t really say the guys we could get were sooo good. Kind of pointed out how there was depth. How each guy kind of had is ways and things he could do and he used for. Top two guys were the studs to grab for sure. But we weren’t going to pay the huge trade price it would have taken.

Wait now…I clearly stated too early to completely define his career already. Not even saying you are totally wrong about him or any of that. Yes…he’s huge…yes he has potential. I just jumped in about nowhere near giving up a third round pick for that guy.

If you remember it was my idea to trade for Jahan Dotson. We gave up a third and 2 sevenths while getting back Washington’s 5th. So volunteer this move for you. Not looking as great as I had hoped so far for sure. I’m far from perfect. But…note I still am not giving up on Dotson. Thing really is about the need. Rosie just hasn’t been able to grab that third WR option..,though infinite attempts he’s made trying.

Could be a situation where disgruntled player will ill team for forces the move to trade him though. Example: Pickett.

Not sure how to judge the Steelers about this. It’s bad draft choices. But they really seem to have evolved more than most other teams into not being dead set on forcing guys that just don’t pan out.

I don’t see the ceiling of number one. Third stringer…with potential…only 24…so could still really improve. Thing is….doesn't need slight improvement….needs drastic improvement.

FL…I’d note…Pittsburgh would be the team possibly has valued blocking TEs even more than us. They always loved to power physical run the ball almost all of my life.

Took putting decent options in the middle. Moore just moved Smitty and AJ to the middle…then BOOM…we produce over the middle. Have to say actually adding that 13 and 14th pass play to the playbook of Siri’s with guys crossing also helped.

Exactly what I’m suggesting you do yourself. Take a deep dive into our TE depth options. Tons and tons of potential. Not one guy…but several options. The position has been stacked hoping to find that Diamond in the Rough to take over going forward. Be so huge if it pays off and one or two pan out for us.

He played at Georgia as a top recruit. Taking high in the draft obviously getting opportunities. He just isn’t that good. LaPorta got more stats…because he’s just that much better. LaPorta good…very quality starting TE. Washington..third string TE. That’s why. Real simple. Cut and dry.

We kept investing and trying…just none were any good…here or elsewhere. Your blaming Hurts for Siri’s O, Rosie shortcoming practically line O position he just hasn’t been able to find. How come when Moore sent Smitty to the middle all of the sudden Hurts throws just fine over the middle. But Quez dropping passes Hurts just couldn’t graduate and cut it passing in the middle.

Were these the same guys had Washington ranked as 40th overall draft pick? I wouldn’t go boasting and puffing my chest out about any of this. But sure…seen the Packers and Cowboys actually top two teams most likely to trade for him.
