Rosie knows exactly how to massage all the numbers to give full optics towards pumping his players up. Felt like what his Jurgens contract did almost exactly as a very recent example.

Hurts contract was team friendly Megacontract. Top paid player ever…but really was very manageable team cap hits.

Which is what I’ve tried to explain to all. So many just can’t wrap their heads around a player getting the largest contract ever….WITH it actually being team friendly signing.

Kind of like how nothing else could even be considered or questioned surrounding a team that won the SB.

"I wanted to be the best at what I do, try to be the best.” Jalen Carter stated. He didn’t declare himself clearly on top as the clear best after his first two years. Made second team All Pro in 2024. Will Anderson beat him out for DROY honors in 2023. He actually really needs the recognition comes along with all the news and hype surrounding the blockbuster megacontract. Not ideal…or saying it should be the way it is…but how things seem to work way too often. That name recognition. Building his brand. Right there …just short on DROY to Will Anderson who went number one overall. Number one pick had a much larger hype game name recognition beginning. Comes down to close voting? That can make all the difference. Like Hurts trying to win MVP in 2022. His name branding and hype train going towards his MVP campaign in 2022 was light years behind several of these others. Things don’t just begin tied up zero to zero all things just being fair and equal. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow….the easy top hyped guys going in from the start. Hurts had to really just blow everyone of those guys completely away to hands down be chosen the MVP over any single one of those super hyped megastars. Which he pretty much exactly did that season….but then just got injured at the end. All it took was that one slight ch1n8 in the armor.

Your comments above epitomize the problem. Everything you mention is about individual honors … egocentric thinking in a team sport. Those individual honors matter more to you than they matter to the players. When has Carter ever talked about "his brand”?

Your obsession with Offense … one third of the whole picture (with Defense being a third and the combination of Special Teams and Culture adding up together as the other third) … is the same kind of narrow thinking. No individual player wins a Lombardi Trophy. The team wins that.

Understood. It will be a toss up between personal wealth versus higher probability of more Super Bowl wins.

The key question is, "How much money(wealth) is enough to last a person for the rest of their life?” Most financial planners will say somewhere between $5 million and $10 million for a family of two owning their own home. So for these players, there isn’t a monetary "need” for any amounts over $10 million.

What I think gets lost here... the players have pressure from the players association to get what they are worth, especially with the first contract extension. Our Eagles get paid.... very well. It's Howie's job to figure out how to do it though, in a way that keeps the cap hits down. Carter will get paid with the " for show" part of the contract (the extension for show part) should be well over $30 mil per.

Milton Williams just got $26 mil per.... lol An example where the team made a mistake overpaying. None the less, Carter should get over $30 mil on his " extension years" which could end up being classified as years 6 to 9 if he gets the 5th year option exercised as part of the deal like Smith did a year ago! That's not anything to do with Carter's preferences ... that's the market value.

You are correct. What I think of Carter’s value is irrelevant. What matters is what Carter thinks of his value. He has publicly said that he prioritizes better opportunities to win Super Bowls over getting top dollar. Were you not listening when he said that?

Irrelevant, Howie and Lurie pay the value... they gave Barkley and other guys extra money all the time... they get ahead of the value. Carter will seem to have huge numbers, but then in reality it won't seem so bad... watch how it's done in a year or so.

Yeah, you are the salary expert... lol

You got this from his own quote? You put his thoughts on me now? I don’t blame him at all. If I had that kind of talent ability and size? I’d be very focused on my career legacy. Want to go down as one of the all time greats and be an elite level HOF. You can see plenty if top level guys think this way. Like AJ…you can tell his legacy means so much to him.

Lurie is the man about having that cash ready to throw out there. That’s really been the key. Get the players cash…then most are fine with working out some things so Rosie can contend with the cap part of the contract.

BTW- Pitts used a 3 on him (93) so I would offer them a 3rd or 4th/6th. Whatever it takes. This kid was ranked higher than LaPorta who was also in this draft as was Dalton Kincaid. It was an excellent TE class and he was ranked #2. I wouldn't let this kid get by me if I had a chance to grab him.

3rd round pick for a 3rd string TE? You crazy man..

They spent three and are giving up on him…how would that still equal a three? A three and we could have just drafted him in the first place. LaPorta was so obvious to me as quality TE. It’s rankings screwing up stuff like that you just love to take advantage of.

We traded away our third in this past weak draft class. Knowing we could grab Ty Robinson in the fourth. Let’s base and judge your idea here by watching our newly fourth round drafted DLine player. In a less than stellar draft class…we wouldn’t even burn a third on Ty….held out using a fourth. So this TE would need to outperform our newly drafted DT for sure to justify your thoughts on this.

That's why he doesn't overpay

You are just blinding yourself by sure willpower. But nobody can always be correct. You don’t think that was overpaying for Bradbury starting CB money for the last two seasons after he as over the hill?

Bryce Huff….is pretty much poster boy of overpaying a one trick pony after he achieved his career peak mostly achieved because of everything around him…more than about how dynamic a player he is. Top D mind coach and scheme in a very talented D cast all around him.

Only because you fail to see raw potential. You only hate him because I like him. YOU were willing to give up a 3rd or 2nd for the round 5 TE"s last draft, but I'm crazy?????(check mirror for crazinesss). besides since you apparently have no idea what we look for in a TE, it's not what other teams look for. We need those rare TE's that can also block to protect your boy or have you been checking out Dullaz boards all day? So go ahead and look at next years draft class and tell me where we take a BLOCKING TE. I'll wait

Not in the third round are we taking a blocking TE. Yes you will be waiting very long in any draft for blocking TE to be drafted. Look…I don’t base my decisions considering your opinion really one ounce. This much should be beyond questioning. I wasn’t that high on the Georgia TE. Thought he was overrated. He has a huge upside ‘ceiling’ potential. Don’t deny that.

What round five TE as I willing to give up a 2nd rounder for? Back up this statement with any substance of fact …or reasoning to have even made the comment at all.

Raw potential describes this player to a T!! Went to a top college program. Been a pro for a couple of seasons. At what point do you start believing a day two draft pick is way too steep to trade for a guy who has potential that just never has materialized? For me it was in his original draft…right then. Third was too high for me then….things haven’t picked up since. Study out TEs on our roster right now. Potential…potential…potential….we have already loaded up on several of TEs have plenty of untapped potential.

I encourage you to dive deep into the TE depth we already possess. Think you’ll really get pretty pumped once you do. Doesn’t mean any of them will amount to squat….but I think one or two actually will. Up to us to make the correct decisions about them. Choose the right guy and protect him without losing him.

He is sitting behind their starters. Once again the failure of other teams doesn't concern me

In college and the pros….just everything else…but him. What did he have like a couple dozen catches…in both NFL and college?

Which he’ll be sitting behind ours here as well….or we are in trouble.

FL…respect your TE knowledge and wisdoms. Don’t want that to be misunderstood. But think you’d really enjoy scouting through our depth TE options we have currently on the squad.

Heard some real good things about Nick Muse at OTAs. He might be the deepest sleeper of all the TE options at that.

NONE of our present TE's is 6'7 and 282. if you can't find an advantage with that give up scouting

So what’s he done in college and the pros?

Equates to a Stoll upgrade..about it. But I do understand and don’t deny looking at his potential. Tons of that.

Yet…why hasn’t that natural gifted size advantage already translated to so much more production?
