July 5, 2025Jul 5 All Pro S, DT, Edge….like you noted…Bengals D only allowed one extra point a game than what Hurts contended against.
July 5, 2025Jul 5 Burrow blew it failing to make the key plays that stalled all three first drives for the Bengals in true SB loss. Bad read…killed the first drive. Bad timing and not accurate throw sealed the fate on their third drive stalling turns field goal.

July 5, 2025Jul 5 Also you should factor in Hurts was held back from actually posting even larger just pure statistical numbers …in the playoffs and the SB. If the situation dictated I don’t even hesitate for a second to believe Hurts and our O could have and would have produced another 100 yards and two more scores….thats just talking about in that SB game alone even. Could really go back to each game and pint out how we salted away victory instead of padded stats needlessly. Heck our D slipped just a tiny bit giving up what points they did to the Chiefs in that SB. Little bit extra slack how it was played…but hard to blame the D much…all really needed was to just slow things down enough and kill clock.

July 5, 2025Jul 5 Then watch the drive the Bengals did score their first TD on. Far from Burrow carrying much of anything. Joe Mixon had a couple very good rushes. Playcalls provide a couple open targets for Burrow. Higgins I remember as being one. But then….behind the line of scrimmage short pass near the goaline to the right….hard catch for Mixon on the play because of Burrow bad accuracy on such an elementary pass. Next play….Burrow bad pass again… to the left this time….behind the line of scrimnage…Ja’Marr has to make a spectacular catch behind him just a few feet away from Burrow.
July 5, 2025Jul 5 First TD secured in that SB for the Bengals would better be described of…despite Burrow screwing it all up at the end. After two bad Burrow inaccurate passes…both being of easiest level tier passes to be thrown. Both plays he screwed up weren’t the coaches calling for Burrow to "carry” anything into score their first SB TD. More scared playcalling of YAC Creation play right…then YAC Creation play left. Both plays relying on those two big playmakers to carry the Bengals finally over the goaline. But Mixon and Chase can’t Create…after such really poor passes from Burrow. So After Burrow blew it so consistently almost that entire SB first half….specifically blew it two straight plays right in front of the Endzone…..Bengals had a backup RB come in and throw that first TD to Higgins for the Bengals instead of Burrow.
July 5, 2025Jul 5 Hurts SB interception was actually not a real bad play at all. Was a situation of it being worth the chance to take….downside of it being interception…in reality? Made it a fantastic P essentially.

July 5, 2025Jul 5 I’d include believing Chiefs and Spagnola present the more difficult challenges in comparison to what Burrow faced against those Rams. Burrow having nothing but consistency in his O scheme under Taylor the entire time a huge boost over what Hurts has contended with as well. Heck even just a one year comparison it’s a superior O scheme setup for Burrow. Zac Taylor be chosen ahead of either Siri or Moore by list anybody for pure O system, playcalling and gameplan.
July 5, 2025Jul 5 Burrow has actually been a guy I’ve gone out of my way to always mention as elite player. Even very possibly the QB with the largest argument to be considered ahead of Hurts league wide. Burrow is absolutely incredible! So getting ahead of any folks that done read it comprehend my words from the Get Go ahead of it happening. Like it always does. Because always one or two morons try to change my words into something entirely different. Pretty much how this play consistently works ,sadly in fact. Case for Burrow compared to Hurts is a whole differing argument than what I saw presented. What was presented was playoff stats. Very specific SB comparison. With caption..’Hurts carried’…’Burrow carries.’

Burrow didn’t play well that first half. He screwed up…talking several drive killers almost 90 percent his fault it stalled. Even the TD was Burrow handing its for a RB throw after Burrow himself shanked two straight behind the line of scrimmage short passes
July 5, 2025Jul 5 Second half started with a pretty crazy huge play for those Bengals. Burrow really scrambled forward and just chucked it up to Higgins. Ramsey fell down…

Ramsey fell down…Hahah…guess the O playcall? Switch Route….exact play I mentioned we could really take advantage of. Looked like Higgins tossed Ramsey to me. Wasn’t a good throw. Was a high Chuck throw with plenty of praying. Jump ball you gotta like Higgins chances most anytime anyway. But it was a pure 50/50 throw from Burrow. High lofted and short….not anything to really puff out your crest of your Burrow about…carrying his team with.

July 5, 2025Jul 5 Just now, cunninghamtheman said:So now actually looking and breaking down that huge play to begin the second half. Burrow threw it short. That should have been an interception Burrow threw. Higgins HAD to yank Ramsey….he was in better position than the WR was. Roles reversed on that really very poor Burrow pass. No flag turned such a bad play by Burrow …into huge Higgins TD play.
July 5, 2025Jul 5 Embarrassing actually. Add this to sandwiched right next to all the crap happened in our SB loss. Higgins flat out yanked Ramsey by the facemask to the ground…because Ramsey was in absolute perfect interception position on the play. Criminal no call…if Burrow had actually won that SB.
July 5, 2025Jul 5 Then next drive for the Bengals ends because Burrow short arms the throw to Chase for the way conversion. Only problem was Chase was past the sticks….so that pass made things practically impossible to work.

July 5, 2025Jul 5 Just now, cunninghamtheman said:Middle of the third quarter. Burrow still so inaccurate in this game. Look at the separation Chase somehow manages to create even though having to be the main focus of the D on third down. Terrible throw from Burrow. Best WR…created a huge throwing window…and Burrow short armed it and blew it. Threw it right into the ground. Easy throw. Chase was CARRYING Burrow…but he couldn’t make easy accurate throws so much in this SB loss.

Had Boyd there also as number three…or 2A.2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:Bengals improved their OLine. Comparison you Cherry picked to skip here was Burrow has the best WR …probably ever …propping up his production. Had him in college and the pros….so afforded comfort levels are impossible to measure at this point. Ja’Marr Chase is the best! Totally volunteer Burdow used the best in Chase along with arguably second best in Jefferson to break all collegiate records won that Heisman denying Hurts. Not many players keep Hurts from winning the Heisman that season. Burrow was just on that super team…along with super coaching.I didn't cherry pick anything. If you want to call Chase the best WR ever, I really have to question your longevity as a fan. That's fine though. Personally, I don't see Chase as head and shoulders above Jefferson or even AJ Brown. Different styles certainly, but Chase isn't that far ahead of Brown. And then when you consider #2 WRs, you have to consider Smith vs. Higgins. For my money, Smith is better than Higgins. Just my opinion. BUT... what Chase and Jefferson did with Burrow in college is completely irrelevant to this discussion. Burrow in the NFL has been better than Hurts in the NFL... The weapons around them have been pretty similar in terms of skill positions. I'd put Brown, Smith and Goedert against Chase, Higgins and Hayden Hurst. I'd also put Sanders and Swift up against Mixon, with a slight nod to Mixon. Obviously, the '24 version of the Eagles offense with Barkley (which is what that comparison was about... '21 Burrow and '24 Hurts) is a major swing in favor of the Eagles. The EAGLES offense last year was a 'dream team' or 'super team' build... Literally all 11 (10 if you want to knock them for the pass protection foibles of Becton, but his running blocking, IMO more than made up for that), not just 5 or 6 like the Bengals with Burrow. But the OL disparity cannot be minimized. Burrow gets hit the most of any QB in the league faster than any other QB, and facing the least amount of blitzes, because their starting OL can't reliably block 4, so teams don't have to bring more than 4 to get fast pressure on Burrow.
