Not every year but you can't allow new models to back up in the showroom either

We have that problem now, with four players and only three QB slots on the 53-man roster.

Because dynasties are built on Day One and Day Two draft picks. Right now McKee is only an insurance policy.

HUNH?

IDK last I heard Matt was on his way back to Cali from Colorado and never heard from him since. I hope he is ok

Just fine. Came home by way of Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, and The Palouse region of Washington.

I mean.... who are your new models? You drafted McKee and McCord 2 years apart... one leaves as the other enters year 3.... development. That's the idea of a factory. Your produce yourself over time. We draft a QB ... he is the #3 for 2 years and develops into #2... draft the next guy to do the same.

No need to spend money at the position. That's the exact definition of the factory.

Bringing in DT-R caused some congestion.

But all these reports about DeJean playing outside in camp?

Let's try to stay off the creative fictional story and discuss actual real things about our team

What stories? I missed them. In Fangio’s ‘s scheme he has been either playing the nickel/rover/monster or one of the two interior Quarters.

right,we got Pickett in while we were working on McKee. T-R may be tradeable, McCord is the new model

Is T-R a vested veteran? If so, he doesn’t have to go through waivers and if but can choose to go to the Eagles practice squad.

I’m saying a QB can force his way out under rookie contract(two years remaining even in fact) as a backup QB. No Mas says it can’t happen. So if I can post a picture of Pickett in any jersey but a Steelers jersey..he’d be very very wrong. So if No MAs believes he’s correct in any shape or form? He’ll have no problem accepting the bet.

Ham, Pickett didn’t force himself onto the Eagles roster. Howie chose to add him to the Eagles roster.

Understood. I prefer two in the bush over a bird in the hand.

Winning a Super Bowl requires more than a little luck. As the patriots found out when they entered the Super Bowl undefeated, bad luck trumps good preparation. Preparation is controllable, but luck is uncontrollable.

Patriots won 6 SBs... thats a lot of luck???????????

No, it wasn't (lol) [Rosie.] Our GM Hurts recruited him lol

He is referring to Gardener Minshew.

It is a basic rule of capitalism … buy low and sell high. McKee’s actual value to the Eagles is low because he spends all his time riding the pine. So he is in the buy low category. Other teams would not have him only on the sidelines. He would be their starter. So they are likely to make offers for McKee that fit the sell high category.

Of course that ignores the insurance policy factors.

Do you think McKee's value drops or increases after this year?

You skip over too many things and make too many assumptions.

  1. The salary cap.... you have backup QB on lock for multiple years ...at dirt cheap. That's huge value.... not just " insurance" it's a roster spot at very inexpensive cost! LONG TERM... a way to build a dynasty.... that's two birds in the bush. Rolling cap, there will be value to this way down the road.

  2. You assume McKee would be seen as a starter NOW by other teams.... HUGE ASSumption.

  3. You assume McKee's trade value is high now? Why wouldn't it be higher AFTER this season ? As teams go through failure with other QBs? And as McKee gets more experience in the league. More seasoning. At the very least, why would it be lower????

We won't pick until next April.... no need to trade until this season is over.

We have 4 every year at this time.... no problem at all

Agreed. Lots of good luck and lots of good preparation. With that said, how many Super Bowls did they miss in that span? How many did they lose? How many of the six did their backup QB deliver any value?

Rarely 4 that we want to keep. One is usually a JAG.

No it didn't... it was a swap of Pickett for him

Everyone missed those fictional stories

Seriously.... the most SBs of any team and you are bringing up negative... did Ham hack your account?

  1. The incremental Salary Cap amounts are zero if they keep DT-R and McCord.

  2. This hypothetical only exists if Howie has offers. If a team makes an offer, then they believe McKee is a starter. Not an assumption, a pre-condition.

  3. It wouldn’t be higher because the acquiring team would only get the low cost of one rookie contract year rather than two AND the acquiring team would only have one season to decide whether their gamble has paid off sufficiently to warrant signing McKee to a big contract extension. They prefer not to put themselves into a forced negotiation.

You don't remember Brady suspension.... or the year he got hurt? Wins and then real trade value. AFTER playing

Just now, joemas6 said:

You are the one who is making the argument that keeping McKee guarantees a sure thing SB win. My point is simply that there is no such thing as a sure SB win.

Further in business, insurance protects your downside, but it doesn’t enhance your upside. McKee is an insurance policy. Nothing more nothing less.

Just a guy. A place holder. A camp body.

Oh boy... #3 is a huge assumption. Very huge.... you think McKee would have better trade value now... while teams have unknowns at QB and he himself hasn't played much, never been a #2 QB yet.... vs other teams seeing failure in their own current guys and McKee adding more experience?

No I don’t remember either of those. I don’t follow the Patriots that closely. How did they do those years?
