Here it is again, parsed for easier comment.

Zadarius Smith takes his (Hall’s) place as a 3/4 DE. Edge is the wrong term for a 274 pound DE.

The DEs are basically Ojomo, ZS, Robinson (when he is ready) and Young.

ZS and OO are more DE than OLB when the Eagles go light and both can probably play BG "DT”. (Although OO has played some OLB).

Ojomo, Robinson and Young also can line up in traditional DT alignments. Vic loves diversity.

Tank is the BVS replacement,

ZS is the Gabe Hall replacement.

Cue some Beat to say Tank isn’t a FB and ZS is a pass rush specialist.

Juju and Kelce gave us plenty enough issues just a few years back in the SB. Add in Hollywood. I don’t think you should be relying on Name recognition so much. AR can get a second stringer to gouge with a double move potentially.

They could or they could run a normal base 3-4 defense as well what’s your point lol…. Look I already stated I should have looked at it based on the formation we are primarily in but doesn’t change that we are still technically a 3-4 defense nothing you say changes that.

Yes we will play primarily in sub sets with Dejean on the nickel, yes we might have a varying front that looks like a 4-3… and YES we have our BASE D that is a 3-4

That's not what we run here, regardless of how anyone wants to classify Nolan Smith or Hunt.

The norm is the 4-2-5.... two LBs are Baun and Campbell... the other guys are DL ...that's the reality of how they function. 4 guys on the DL...2 LBs... and they move DeJean and the SS around.

Im not going to argue technicalities etc. Bottom line that's simple...the new edge rusher is not replacing Hall...via position... regardless of he takes his roster spots.

Young and Ty Robinson are DTs...not ends. They will function as DTs in a front 4. Same as Carter, Davis and Ojomo. The new guy along with Hunt and Smith function as DEs in a front 4.

There will be times when the line will function as a 5 man line... there will be times when Smith and Hunt drop back so that Campbell and Baun can rush ... but lets not overcomplicate the simple.

Not sure what there is in 1. to disagree with. Tank is filling the roster slot vacated by BVS. If he isn’t going into that roster spot, what roster spot is he going into. The only other roster spot that opened up was Hall’s. I agree that you could just as easily say Tank is filling Hall’s roster spot, but it makes logical sense that an Offensive player fills a slot on the Offense and a Defensive player fills a slot on the Defense.

Ojomo is a 3-4 DE much more than he is a 3-4 DT. He doesn’t have enough junk in the trunk and his playing style is much closer to that of a 3-4 DE than a 3-4 DT. The terminology challenge with a Fangio front four is that he only has one DE and one DT in his front four with the two OLBs … or you could say he has no DTs and two DEs when Ojomo and Carter are on the field with the two OLBs. The only true DT he has is Davis, and the slimmed down version of Davis is looking more like a 3-4 DE than a 3-4 NT.

Fangio’s frequency of usage of five man fronts is not very frequent at all.

That is at least an answer. Let’s dig into it a bit. What percentage of the snaps do you think Kelce will be covered by a CB? What percentage covered by either Baun or Campbell?

Those are not tests. Those are performing their assignments. Typically a test comes from the outside, not from within, unless there is a traitor in your midst. You "face” a test. You don’t face doing your job.

Fair enough. I misused the term to describe someone whose actions are limited without the leg specificity. I went to an all boys school and we often talked about having gimpy brains when the master was asking us questions about an assignment and our answers were few and far between.
