Smitty is tanking the season he missing practices like AJ last year

4000 yards...lol. 30 passing TDs?

All after losing AJ?

If he wants to prove he is a top 10 QB absolutely. Especially with Ham saying addition by subtraction with AJ not throwing games and not trying last year. Otherwise he proves what we have been saying he is a little above average QB that can manage the team but can't carry them. The D will keep us in most games but Hurts isn't the guy to take over games. We need a QB that can lead not just manage to get by.

Hurts is best at being a game manager(Foles was also). Hurts decision making and field vision has always been lacking, and if he repeats not running like last years debacle it's going to be a rough year. Hurts needs to get the ball out faster to the short throw routes. A guy like Lemon should help this cause IF Hurts can find him. The yards after catch make Hurts passing stats look better. With a hopefully healthier O line, I would like to see the Bark/Tank combo backfield used. Even RB's on routes. Smitty will get a few bombs, but for Hurts a bomb" is 40 yards, not 60. Anxious to see Stowers bloom later in the year for more short route fun. I have no clue what to expect from Wicks

This is what I'm saying we need a QB to lead us not just managing the game.

This would be the logical take but all we will hear if Hurts is bad is because of the HC, the OC is bad, WRs are not good enough etc. everything but Hurts will be the problem lol 😂

Ok, so you aren't saying he is going to get it...just that he should. Makes sense

QB 19/32 needs to break into the top 10 to earn his paycheck

3225 and 25 last year, so 4,000 with 30 isn't out of the question in my view. Hard to know, no stats on what each TD's yardage was. I mean from the GL I'll take all the 2 yard TD passes all day using the running game to get there. Sounds more to me that Mannion is wanting the WC offense where the TD's are 55 yards. Moore tried this and Hurts was tossing so many picks Siri had to stop it. We know Smitty can play and Lemon will come along as the season goes along(or should) Stowers can be a weapon later also along with Goedert. The guy I believe this hinges on is Wicks. He needs to be good enough so teams don't double cover Smitty. He was a "limited use" WR in GB. They like him enough to sign him for a 2 year, but I need to see him in this offense. Seems they feel he is ready to step up after his limited use in GB. Going to be lots of new things. Hollywood seems like a guy that can be used from the backfield like Tyreek Hill was(no he is not on Hills level but we can use him anyhow if he even makes the roster). I am anxious to see all the moving parts we didn't see under Patullo. The O line and running game are HUGE for me. As Joe said that needs to be consistent and at least decent. Tank and Bark can both rock and roll with a decent O line

If he gets 3400 ... I would be pleasantly surprised. I'm assuming teams will play more press man now without AJ. You can put your best CB on WR 2...and double Smith.

We will see if teams blitz more too... more men in the box.

Scheme doesn't make up for talent.

That could leave Lemon open though. He's like JJ in that he's great after the catch. Hurts "passing" yards get a boost with YAC

I feel the WC approach with 3400 would not make Mannion happy

Why it's important for me to see Wicks in this offense. He needs to be a threat, but that is an unknown here

If Wicks is ineffective would they put Lemon out with Wilson in the slot?

Haven't been on in a while so someone may have already posted that last season AJ ranked 135 out of 135 qualifying WRs in route seperation.

Tells me he checked out early.

He had leg issues all year. It was difficult for him to make route breaks. I don't believe they were HUGE issues but enough for LA to pull out of trying to get him

Also hard to give the effort when you know the QB isn’t going to make the throw

They need to run the ball to win...elite level. Passing isn't going to do it.

But yeah Hurts should throw complete 50/50 balls trusting the guy he fell out with…that is attempting to force his way out from being an Eagles.

That’s why he wasn’t getting open all season…sure…it’s Hurts fault AJ wasn’t gaining any separation.

I'm hoping for an increase in both areas

Hurts having issues already. Not hitting crap. I'm give him a "bad day" star, but this has to be better. I know it's early, but he should be hitting the majority of these. The excuse train needs to stop

Goedert said. "I feel like through watching what he wants to happen, there’s a lot of easy touches to the tight end, getting the ball in space, scheming ways to get us open. So I’m excited for that.
