June 14Jun 14 Just now, cunninghamtheman said:Heck poor rushing teams even jump at the chance to utilize Playaction after they can ever squeeze out a pair of successful rushes. It’s apparent Siri never learned and understood any of these simple most basic football tactics. No need to be HOF NFL football brain for any of this. Inexcusable for even a high school coach to be in charge not even understanding this. Name of the game for success is to keep opponent off balance. Our team has been operating under conditions with a coach believing he’s the O mind: without him ever seeking to consider this most simple basic concept. Ok…overstating with ‘never’…he has switched up the Tush Push with faking it….like maybe a dozen times. Over all these years….laughable number. Our players on O had to produce under Siri without personnel and alignments having multiple possible plays to be run from. O playbook 101: every look has several differing options.
June 14Jun 14 How did we ever get in that/this position? Rosie could have been as high on Gannon as it gets….still doesn’t reason Siri ever being in charge of anybodies O. Just hire Gannon instead of even considering that.
June 14Jun 14 Witnessed coaches make all kinds of bad decisions. Bad playcalling..bad game plans….you name it…but never seen a less qualified coach in charge of their side of the ball. Sticks absolutely that much and obvious. I’d say in the NFL…but trying to recall even a college coach that bad…failing miserably.
June 14Jun 14 I praise Rosie for so many mostly overwhelming great qualities and duties performed. But hiring Siri in charge of our O was really not to be excused. I used Niners Lynch as an example some years back…I still hear about today being way overplayed. Lynch done plenty of things making him a top GM. But so miserably flailing at QB. Money, draft picks…practically every method possible towards finding that QB for Shannahan. Got near winning championships even with Garrapolo even. Gave up picks and overpaid Garrapolo….just acquiring the worst player they always had to overcome.Lynch put together such a great team other than the most important position…they did mostly overcome Garrapolo. Hold up actually was Garrapolo so amazingly consistently made the biggest with boneheaded play at the end and the clutch(exact opposite of what’s required contrary to some here’s philosophical beliefs). Their D routinely turned his flops back around to win…was their normal even. But can’t overcome and do anything when he throws the game away without enough time left to do something about it. Wondering any worse move by a GM than Lynch desperately reaching for ..can’t even think of his name now he’s been so insognicant. Lynch paid a kings ransom for a QB nobody considered near NFL ready…even by those most die hard believers in that kid. Ok…so there has been worse moves by a GM…Deshaun Watson light years beyond. But that trade up by Lynch definitely ranks way up there in all time elite levels of dumbest most terrible GM decisions.

Throw away money and draft picks like crazy towards terrible QBs. Most franchises that would sink. Browns come to mind so easily.
June 14Jun 14 Hurts 172 total TDs is 6th-most in NFL history by a quarterback in his first 82 career starts.
June 14Jun 14 Author IDK I am having thoughts about Wicks. Firstly, I want to know about the stories I heard about Wicks telling others they were "lining up wrong". IDK who elected him as WR room leader. His annual stats are like 400 yards. I mean it's not like he's mopping up defenses here, so how would he know about alignments on a team that has had SB appearances? OK so he worked with Mannion and??? secondly, he's nowhere near the caliber AJ was and Smitty blows his(Wicks) stats off the map. Also he's not really a guy who break tackles, he makes his catches and that's a good attribute(no drops is always nice) but if you are counting on a guy to "break one" he's not that guy. I will assume the baton is being passed to Smitty as the 1 as most have said. In actuality Wicks seems like more of a slot guy(like Wilson), but now we have Lemon apparently manning that space. I'm no pro, but it seems to me putting Smitty and Lemon out with Wicks in the slot would be a better way to use these guys. Maybe we do that or vary it. Possibly Wicks is merely a place holder and I guess if that is true I would feel better. But I just don't see him dictating to other guys who have been here on how to run a route or line up on a team we consistently seem to beat. Maybe he should be TAKING advice rather than giving it? IDK just seems a bit odd to me. I mean if Wicks stats were 1500 yards a year maybe he would have a point. 400 yards is like the janitor at GM telling the VP how to do his job. Most of Wicks "highlights" are vs a weak Vikes zone secondary, so I'm not sure where this is coming from. Although he has experience in Mannion's O, that part should be on Mannion, not a(dare I say it?) 2nd rate WR. Wicks has a ton to prove to me. We have a ton of capable targets and we need to spread the ball around. Sorry, Wicks telling our guys what to do just bugs me a little. I appreciate his enthusiasm and I'll get over it I guess(but it's only a guess LOL). I thought we signed Wicks to a 2 year but I'm seeing it was only 1(prove it). So, I will be anxious to see how we use all these receivers. Lemon should be great right from the start. As Stowers learns and works his way in he will provide a whole new weapon after a little time. I'm going to watch the Canes. We can wrap up the Stanley Cup tonight in Vegas. Both teams are really good so I suspect we will see game 7 in Raleigh. We could use something to cheer about here in NC

June 14Jun 14 To Wicks credit he has also gain the praise of Q early on in OTS/camp. Doesn’t mean to much since he has to show he can produce in actual games but it’s a start

June 15Jun 15 "Some close to Hurts feel that the Eagles did not support him enough when some constructively insightful stories came out this postseason about some of his deficiencies on the field, like Eagles teammates did, at the urging of the Eagles, over the constructive criticism Carson Wentz received in January 2019. No one spoke up publicly on Hurts’ behalf as they did Wentz."
June 15Jun 15 Interesting reading about some of the early winners of spring camp. Bell hams new public enemy #1 getting reps with the 1st team Johnathan Jones maybe a forgotten veteran addition to the secondary(curious if he might get S looks)Johnny Wilson- injury derailed him last year but seems to be a guy Hurts trust honestly my dark horse to win the opposite outside job next to Smith Trot jr- making plays in Campbell place and with Campbell injury history we need him to step up Cam/Dickerson- both out their looking healthy is huge for the OLMundt- been mostly the TE2 has made some catches even though he is known as a blocking TE so that nice to hear.Riq Woolen- probably been the best player so far looking like an amazing signing for us Byron Young- adds great depth for us and could honestly be the next guy up on the DL after Ojomo leaves in FA. If Young himself doesn’t get a strong offer in FA since this is his last year as well

Not sure he has the chops for outside routes? IDK I'm not an insider, maybe he does.. I mean we actively went out and got Wicks and spent a round 1 pick(plus) on Lemon. I can't see those guys sitting. But you are right that Hurts was starting to trust Wilson

Bringing in Wicks helps Mannion, it won't help Hurts unless Hurts can get with the program. It won't matter one iota if Wicks gets them lined up right if Hurts can't find them. If Wicks wants to add his 2 cents ok, was only a point for discussion. As I said I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. My main concern is how the O line performs. Unless that happens all other points are moot. I agree though that Bell is not "forced" pick. Howie spent many hours in Miami more than once, so he had to address other needs, but still knew Bell was a nice pick. Certain people can hate him if they want. Worst is a very good BU which is always needed

But if Wilson does end up winning the Wicks drops to WR4 assuming he beats out the other guys.We have quite a few guys playing for the other WR spot Wilson/Wicks/Hollywood none of the are guaranteed that spot could even be another dark horse that wins it. Only two WRs I see as locked in to play are Smitty and Lemon

Wicks has experience in the system you should want him trying to help guys learn it. No matter how you want to look at it Mannion can’t talk to everyone single O player on every single snap all the time not possible there is what 40-50 guys on offense running plays right now.Got the 1s, 2s, 3s practice squad guys it’s a 90 man roster and half those are on O if not more. In the classroom yea Mannion should be discussing everything with everyone but on the field can’t be available to all the players needs everyone helping out he can get

Like where reality is Wicks simply adding his 2 cents... maybe the article embellished and made it sound like Wicks was " telling" " commanding" ...or any other forceful words ...to make it seem like something worth writing about when nothing was really there.
