Not really difficult at all to grasp that salaries will be rising along with the cap. How can you not grasp that It will cost more?

But you can't grasp going from 35 to 40 million....the next guy to make a jump as the highest paid non QB?

We got motion on O …AND D coming this year. S been spotted rotating just before the snap fairly regularly. Q played Dime LB again today. Most surprising news so far. We just don’t have a LB that can do it.

Lol....if he isn't going to finish the contract....why does Minnesota prefer to sign him to a longer term?

Explain why....if they redo the deal after 2026.... why would it matter if he his current deal runs through 2028 or 2030?

"Obviously, on their side of it, they always want deal to be shorter: as much money as possible and shorter, and ours, longer,” Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said. "That [wide receiver] position has gotten shorter in terms, which is a unique dynamic in the market.”

Sounds like Kwesi agrees with me on this.

How much cap room does our team have in 2025? 8 mil right now. How about 2026?  Less than 30 mil. Seems and feels like it matters to me.

Ok... so did the NFL come up with official cap numbers for 2025 and 2026?  I didn't see that...where was that official news ?   Because in order to be definitive... and have an absolute amount of cap space...like you just stated, obviously you need that exact cap figure.

But you are intelligent enough to where I don’t have to mention this right?    That's of course before a final carry forward number and any adjustments between now and then.   But you speak with such authority about this definitive number?

What was the jump from Bosa to Jefferson? 34 to 35 mil

?????     I asked for you to explain.

The Vikings redo the deal after 2026... why does it matter if the original deal ( as we all know the bs final numbers) why does it matter if it gets changed after 2026?

Exactly why we must carry over money from this season. That’s what most don’t seem to be understanding here.

Hmmm... let's think.    The market jumped from DE/ Edge.... the higher paid position historically.... to where a WR took over as the highest paid...when have we seen that recently before JJ where the WR was the highest paid non QB?

So when it gets to the next significant move... in reality it's Parsons jumping Bosa.   That's why I'm saying Lamb and Chase aren't the guys to reset anything...they will follow suit as WRs to JJ.  Right around that 35 mil..doesn't matter really if just under or over.  Because the next significant jump us going to be Parsons ... who plays a traditionally higher paid position.

Why difficult for you to grasp?

Thought you said a few mil in future cap didn’t matter just a little bit ago

The dead money 3 years down the road doesn't....if it's a few mil.

Think much of that is what I already stated myself. But five mil jump is significant without anybody being a stepping stone in the middle first. But think you might want to look at these WR contract growth again. Seems you aren’t grasping the WR position pay scale situation league wide. Just had a whole slew of WR grabbing bank this offseason.

The numbers change after tons of signings next offseason if Parsons waits it out all offseason. But his statement was more to start next offseason. So it might get there eventually…by TC or something. But I’m not seeing it to start next offseason.

Again.... JJ $35 mil per as a WR...pretty significant jump.   What was the highest WR before JJ?   Look at that jump.... use the same % for a jump from Bosa and see where it lands near $40 mil.  Now you can imagine the genius Dallas team looking to get a cheap 5th year option from Parsons...what would that be ? In the teens??   So let's say they do his deal starting in 2026... why so difficult to imagine it being around that $40 mil number?

I'm not seeing it to start next offseason either...because Dallas has shown being too stupid to figure out to do it right away.    They seem to like the contract drama....and then eventually set the market anyway.

I absolutely believe Parsons gets his 5th year option exercised before any long term deal is made.  After stating the 40 mil #... you know he will milk Jerry for it.  Why not....Jerry has given in every time.

When Dickerson signed his deal... i remember the contract expert on here making a big deal about it.    I said it at the time no big deal... the Eagles are ahead of the market and it will be a bargain very soon.  They did it early so the cap hits will be low.

Watch how Dallas guys ...because of Jerry waiting... get the huge cap hits.  The kind that handcuff a team...for years at a time...not just 2019.

Btw... no signing should change anything for Parsons... his $40 mil # is his idea for the pay for the best defender in the league...which he feels he is.   So as we both stated before not being able to come up with anyone else to set the market....none of these other deals will matter.  Parsons isn't going to settle..especially after being forced to wait.

See ...you read between the lines one thing...my interpretation was..." Jerry you make me wait, that's ok...because I will make you pay"

Cowboys have  65 mil compared to our 8 mil in cap space in 2025. Cowboys have 181 mil compared to our 27 mil in 2026. So they have much more room to afford to do it than us. We’ll see how it all shakes out in the end.

JJ demanded top of nonQB number. Parsons demanding top of nonQB number. JJ leaped Bosa 34 to 35. So logic would dictate Offering Parsons 36 to leap JJ. Right there in both statements was directly top paid nonQB. That’s to begin next offseason. As I’m not seeing any other players breaking the JJ threshold this season. Believe Chase and Lamb only possible players to do so. Don’t think either breaks 35 mil per.

My reading between the lines is Parsons wanted to wait. You think he wanted to sign before Jefferson? Parsons mindset the whole time is he’s going to make him pay regardless. I actually am not seeing the number change between now and beggining of next offseason. Looks set already to me.

The big number actually was the guaranteed number for Jefferson. That number was the monster. That’s where Parsons and Lamb should be GUARANTEED cashing in.
