Football is not a complicated sport.

If you believe this...then you should never use " genius or brilliant " when describing a coach.

Players win.   Mike  McCarthy won... Manning won with a couple of coaches...who was the second one?   Is Dungee brilliant?   Is Tomlin brilliant?   Who was the last Dallas coach to win?  Was he a genius?

We gotta stop this idea of " brilliant or genius" when it comes to sports.   There are no magic Xs and Os... the coaches need the players more than the other way around.

I'm not saying this was the case, but you know Howie always covers Howie. He will have those WR's locked in and Bark as well even if he has to turn the QB job loose. And we have the start of a very good secondary,so to me the rest of the team should look good no matter and why I think Hurts needs to show his stuff NOW,not 2 years from now

Give it up man. He’s been showing plenty. Freaking fantastic record so far. Took us to the SB already at 25. He can improve. But we are so lucky to have him. Not many guys I’d trade him for.

Hurts, the only guy with character in the last 4 drafts. Good stuff!!! Don't tell Trevor Lawrence ok?

I think our team is chock full of these strong character guys. Really happy to root for these type guys than the thug cowboy types.

I really hope you’re right and I’m wrong. But I don’t know how you are seeing this as reality. We are a weaker team than 2022 and 2023. Teams really don’t like our depth. Got a Oline…and DBs. I think Shipley will work out. But LB is struggling. S depth isn’t there. Both starting S aren’t looking to durable too. I guess Maddox or DeJean maybe can handle things. Get Sidney back at some point. But he has a ways to go to develop. And he’s coming off a major injury which has kept him from doing all the crucial things he needs to be doing to better himself for year tw

So... how are we worse than 2023?

LB depth....you liked it better last year

S depth...you liked it better last year?

RB depth....you liked it better last year?

WRs depth,.. you liked it better last year

QB depth....you liked it better last year

CB depth....you liked it better last year?

Coordinators... you liked it better in 2023?

Schedule.... you think last year's was easier with the logistics all at the end?

He’s a heck of a QB. Best one our franchise has ever had.

At what aspect of playing QB.... reading a defense, throwing,  taking a snap, avoiding mistakes,  handing off, not fumbling, not throwing picks.

Which one of these QB specific skills is Hurts the best we have ever had?

No... I'm saying he is going to have 3 chances at least.     I don't see failure in the sense of " not making the playoffs"

I see we will have a shot to win these upcoming seasons... Hurts will be the guy that gets that opportunity...at least until 2027.

I think Rosie needs to hit speed dial on this roster next season. Wasted two seasons as I see it. Pretty much all Rosie’s fault too.  Roster wasn’t good enough last season. Rosie failed to put together a complete team. He failed badly with the coaching decisions. Now I’ll give him this season to develop and rebuild. Moved on from so older players to look towards opening the window further in the future.

He was good at the QB position because he had the brain game down. Very few mistakes, multiple reads and he got the ball out

As accurate as I’ve ever seen too. I agree on his understanding of the game. Exactly why I point out how he had Sean Payton to coach him. It doesn’t happen under Siri.

Which win is the staple win of Hurts career that you are going to remember as an all time win for the Eagles franchise.   The game you will tell your grandkids about?

Which GM put together a complete team ?   Every season of that GMs career?

What GM has put together a consistently better roster since 2016?

Where is your head? Our team can’t win without him. You just Hurts Hate so hard you looking for any way to tear him down.

Once the Eagles win 10 games ...then you can stop complaining for the rest of the season.

He will have the chances to win ..at least the next 3 seasons.   The team is his....that's where my head is at.   The job of QB for the Eagles will be Hurts the next 3 years...nobody else's.

You disagree?

Apparently Howie studied up on defense this off season(as he should have). Totally went against his history and took TWO secondary players and Jalyz Hunt. He finally felt confident enough to either do it,or listen to those you mentioned. Either way is fine by me

Fangio is in charge of the D. Rosie had to get his guys. But Rosie always covers his own butt. 31st ranked pass D. What GM wouldn’t target DBs? Most draft and FA scouting has been clearly stating S and CB as top needs for a long time now. He at least traded for Slay…a year too late…but he did it. Obvious short coming of Rosie. It took being embarrassed putting the next to worst pass D out there to force his hand.

But you admit the hand was forced and the roster improvements were made?  That's the point.

It's 2024 now...nothing else matters.

Who built this roster of easy guys to root for?

Got Slay a year to late...and keeping him at least a year too long.

Howie's mistake... Slay was on the way out if CGJ signed.    We all talked about it... once CGJ wasn't going to get the big money....Howie should have jumped on it... never resigned Bradberry or extended Slay.

We would be in better cap shape and the young CBs could have played more last year.  31st ranked pass D for the non big play guy.

That's a player selection mistake by Howie.... which he does often.

What did Caff cost again? Jacobs is better than Bark? Did SF get LUCKY Purdy worked out for them? Or would they have had to spend on a QB in place of Caff?

They traded a fortune for Trey Lance…if you remember

And wasn't CMC injured a bunch before going to SF?   But they " beat us to the punch"  ?

Rosie bid a third round pick for him. But yes…they outbid us.

See... I've been trying to tell you how Howie needs Hurts to be viewed ...well as you view him.  This was Howie outsmarted everyone.  He needs Hurts to be the guy.

Hurts is the guy. You not realizing going into 2021 I can understand that you just weren’t picking up on things to realize he was the guy yet. But talking about Hurts needing to be the guy is just foolish. He’s clearly the guy.  Now he needs to give him what he needs to bring the parade.

If Hurts was a gold mine he would have gone in round 1. It was a head scratcher for me and everyone on earth-LUCK!!!! Howie got LUCKY!!!! And he spent his first years running gadget plays for something to do

Exactly why he fell because he didn’t have the massive cannon arm and isn’t NFL QB tall. Runner up for the Heisman….so it shouldn’t ever have been a surprise. If teams could redo the draft he’d go much more than just round one.

Total BS….certain coaches win…over decades. Tomlin is a great coach. I see good coaches come up with schemes and playcalls that force bad matchups on the D….even scheming guys open to get them the ball. What was the Philly Special? I’d call that some Magic X and O. Understanding your opponent and calling plays to catch their weak spots is clearly huge. You think just any old coach can do what Stout does with the Oline? How many times have you witnessed a crap playcaller or coordinator get fired….then a decent one comes in and the same team is drastically different? Team under Siri’s playcalling? Crap. Under Steichen? Pretty darn good.

How much did the guy in New England win without Brady.  Some call him the best coach ever.

You absolutely have " good" coaches.   There are no geniuses.  It's  not rocket science,  I'm sorry.

You find me one brilliant or genius coach...I'll wait to see which one was successful without the players?

This is your problem ...you always go to extremes.  Because the extreme makes for a better story...  reality isn't like that.

There is no genius that is going to make Hurts this great passer.  No system or play calling that is going to make Hurts elite.

Those things will help win games... but not going to make him elite.

Yeah,we need last years draft picks to step up their game also. We need a more EFFECTIVE pass rush. There are more schemes than a bull rush. We really don't blitz much and we need to do that more often. DeJean on a safety blitz? Why not? Arm up blocking the passing lane(I have been talking about). We have all new people with new ideas as to how we can attack on both sides of the ball. We are not weaker,we are DIFFERENT. That doesn't make you weak,it allows for more POSSIBILITIES and I'm looking forward to them. We will grow and learn through the year with the YOUNG guys we have been clamoring for for years. By the end of the year.this group should know each others thoughts and react to them and gel. We kept most of these guys on contracts that extend for 1-2 more years after this year. If Hurts shows us some QB skills we can beat anyone anywhere. The GB game will be tough, but we play teams where we can make a few mistakes but still win. I want to iron things out and learn from those games so by years end there is zero question that we go deep into the playoffs. The only way we fail is if the team adopts the attitude you have
