Give me an example of what your moves offensively would have been for this year... if the plan was to keep Siri? I need to hear this genius theory.

The other reasoning being Siri is a coach that can’t ask for any real power so he can be Rosie’s puppet. Maybe it’s time we stop holding the team back with this element. Or I’m at least asking to make a hire of a quality enough coach that this power hierarchy could be challenged in the future. Hire Slowik whom will each season be deserving of more and more control over the football team. So VERY CLEARLY the Lurie/Howie combo ( I love it when you try to give any negative innuendo that it's just Howie... no obvious agenda there) ... very CLEARLY they look at the coach'es idea for coordinators. Very VERY VERY clearly they like the CEO type coach, that manages it all, and they are interested in having good coordinators. So then why do you think they want to bring in an offensive " genius" who would be very hands on with the offense instead of a CEO tyoe head coach that oversees it all.. in a less hands on method? Wouldn't the idea that they got their " puppet: in place...and all they need to do is make sure he has good coordinators? Now you think they want the opposite... the ego of the offensive " genius" who has tunnel vision??? Especially after Chip???? They fired Doug because he wouldn't go outside with getting new assistants... that's CEO type reasons... they didn't fire him because he wasn't an offensive genius. You just described everything why Siri has the job... but now you think it goes the opposite next year? All of a sudden Lurie/Howie change their philosophy????
July 23, 20241 yr If the Eagles make the playoffs this year, then Siri becomes the 6th coach in NFL history to make the playoffs the first 4 seasons of his career. The last coach to do so was John Harbough ..... remind me again... offensive genius? ...oh defensive genius?? Remind me... does he call plays? Hmm... wonder what his job is then? I mean, we can't have that type of coach... obviously that style isn't successful?

You just explained how the Lurie/Howie front office prefers the " hierarchy ... then you suggest the opposite? So you have guests over the house that prefer chocolate ice cream... so you would serve vanilla?
July 23, 20241 yr You want your coach to have more an more power .... why would you think Lurie/ Howie would want that? Especially when you 100 think the Eagles would hire Belicheck except he wants too much power? You don't see the flaw in your logic?
July 23, 20241 yr 1 hour ago, cunninghamtheman said: The players were complaining about how predictable and vanilla Siris O was last season. Siri himself labeled that it got stale. I don’t even see where the debate could be with any of this. Stripped him of power. Brought in Moore. If he succeeds…he should takeover the HC mantle. LOL... so the exact formula of what Lurie/Howie want.... if that works, then you want to change it? Who does Moore bring in as his OC then? You can't grasp the concept that a coach who already didn't call the plays and had success that way... then is forced to take more control of the offense because they don't trust the OC... then he hires an OC he trusts and it works again.... so now they change back? " Siri’s top reasoning to get hired were having Steichen and Gannon in tow" Right... so then Siri brings in another guy and it works again... THE EXACT REASONING WHY LURIE LIKES SIRI ... so then Lurie fires him?
July 23, 20241 yr Your boss tells you that he likes the one thing you do well.... you do it, and so you think he will fire you? For doing exactly what he wants? Exactly what the guy who had your job before you didn't do and was fired for it? I'm not following how this is Lurie's master plan? Lurie's plan? Or even Howie's plan?

Who were the Indy QBS? weren't they former Eagles who can't hold a candle to the current guy? So I don't get why anyone who thinks this current QB is the best ever in team history... so many intangibles... why wouldn't he be able to make this guy better? Constantly spewing how he makes Smith and AJ so good. The logic is never there... too much agenda.

Moore worked with Herbert, who is a better passer with some injured WR's, so AJ and Smith should be a severe upgrade from what he was used to dealing with. Parker was supposed to be that big body in the slot, but when he abruptly quit we got Paris, then drafted Ainias and Johnny. I suspect Johnny hangs around due to his big body,Paris and Ainias will compete. Paris will start due to experience, but I think by years end it will be apparent Paris won't be back or he becomes a BU. So moving forward with 2 young kids who play different styles should be a boon for Hurts. Excited to see how that plays out.

July 23, 20241 yr Author I think Siri will let both him and Fangio pretty much have their way. I'm sure all 3 locked themselves in a room and decided the intricacies and didn't come out until they were all on the same page. At least that is my hope. I see no reason to upset whatever they decided on,now we need to see if it works

I don't care if someone calls Siri a yes man. If it works,it's genius. The players seem quiet, which IMO is a good sign. They seem to like all 3. Siri should have learned alot last year, but I don't see Moore or Fangio allowing a collapse
July 23, 20241 yr Author My dad(GRHS) taught me that there is nothing wrong with failing if you learned what NOT to do in the future. I think Siri learned what not to do. It's important for me that he did so,so we shall see,but Fangio is experienced and Moore is no dummy either,so I'm looking to see a different team than we are used to. Hurts has a big learning curve ahead of him,so I am glad he is working hard because that will either make or break us. I am optimistic it's the former. Should be alot more fun to watch this team
