If it was Steichen who recommended Anthony Richardson at #4 overall, shame on him.  I suspect, though, it was Irsay and Ballard which means Steichen took the wrong head coaching vacancy.  Very few head coaching candidates actually have their choice of many different openings; you strike the iron that’s hot.

Just like with draft prospects, a lot of the success of first time head coaches are dependent on where they land.  I would give Robert Saleh a chance in another environment, for example.

I keep thinking it would be epic if we lose Kellen to a HC job and the Colts fire Shane so we can bring him back as OC.

Very weak…the best prospect by a large margin (and should be the #1 pick if the Pats stay put) is Will Campbell.  He might be the best LT prospect I’ve seen in quite a few years.

Pats smart they will trade down a few spotd with whomever falls in love with a QB

Mason Graham beside Carter would be the dream scenario

Do you really think this Eagles Defense is vulnerable to a shootout performance by the opposing Offense?  I don’t.

My biggest fear is Daniels and his scrambling/running ability coupled with McLaurin’s skills/ability.  That is a wild card.  Absent wild cards, the Eagles Defense is dominant, and will dominate.

I do. The pass-rush is...not great. We win with coverage. We're also not a great blitzing team other than "WHIP" (drop an EDGE, send Nakobe). Our 5-6 man blitzes rarely get home.

Of course, its also part of why I don't gamble.  The house always wins.

I took some people to Atlantic City when legalized gambling started there. They asked me if I was going to gamble. I pointed toward the sparkling new Casinos and said "They didn't build those by losing money and they don't need mine." If people want to chance beating the odds and can afford it, more power to them. A few people will succeed in beating the house -- temporarily unless they know when to quit for good.

I'd be fine with that but also fine with Kellen staying.  Just give Hurts someone he knows how to work with and no more starting from scratch for a few years.

Treat gambling as any other form of entertainment.  Decide how much you want to spend to have some fun and then stick to that.

That's exactly how my grandfather explained it to me.  During WWII he set $10 a pay aside for playing poker.  He set some other money aside for cigarettes, and the rest he sent home to my grandmother.   If he won playing poker, he could afford other trinkets... but once that $10 was gone... he was done playing.  That takes a lot of discipline.   I know that I don't have that discipline, so I don't even start.

Holy hell Milroe is hot trash

Well, if you can develop a bit more than you can start, enjoy things, and also stop at the right time

:-)

That should read "Tanner McKee’s best friend AJ Brown”

Photo opp, or are they actually playing with the roof open in ATL for the Peach Bowl!

Day drinkers check in!

Gonna do some homemade breaded calamari, homemade fried rice, and green beans and garlic sauce tonight for NYE.

And F Bama!

Saquon is going to play, break the record on some big 60+ yards run and then a ref is going to throw a flag to being it back.

My wife and I spent Christmas week in Las Vegas, returned home on Sunday night.  I’ve been to Las Vegas twice and haven’t spent one second gambling; I simply don’t see the appeal.  I went with my brother in 2013 on a golf vacation and this past week with my wife we spent our time walking the strip, going to see the Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, Fremont Street, took a ride on the High Roller, etc.  There are many things to do there much more interesting and enjoyable than spending all day and night within a casino.

As far as the gambling aspect, my wife met up with a friend/business partner, and she and her husband were gracious enough to tour us around for a couple of days.  She’s worked in the casino industry for more than 30 years and her husband spent almost 20 years as a dealer and working casino surveillance.  They both say the same thing about gambling — the only people who win are the ones with enough sense to get up and leave when they’re on a run.  They both told stories about people who were up more than $30K, sat there and lost it all, left losing more than they could afford.

Quit while you’re ahead is a very uncommon skill.

I do a hybrid version of that. Once I'm up, I'll take some chips off the table and then if I lose back all the remaining winnings, I'll take a break. If I am ever up more than my initial buy in and fall back to even, I take a walk.

Honestly, I've lost my taste for gambling. When I was younger, winning the money meant more -- time to blow it going clubbing. Now I just don't really care.

For those that were hate watching Alabama:

My high stakes gambling experiences were poker games with coworkers after long shifts at Target in my college years.

You either won gas money, beer money,  and a weekend of debauchery or lost half your gas and beer money.

Good times.

Siri says he has no new information about Hurts concussion protocol status and hasn't talked to the medical staff yet. BS, you know they are on top of that constantly.
