I'm good where I am, honestly.  I enjoy plenty of things.  For example, I don't need to wager on a game to enjoy watching it.

That’s cool. I never wager on any games.

Baun is the only player in history with 150+ tackles and 5 FFs

Should be DPOY and needs a nice contract

When I was a junior in college, we had an illegal cable box. This was back when PPV showed the same movie all day, and Rounders was on non-stop (and I never went to class). So we decided to learn how to play Texas Hold'em, because it really was just math and probability. By senior year, once I had my job, we would head to AC 4 nights a week to play 2/4, 3/6 and 5/10 hold'em and make like ~$200 a night, which was all the money in the word back then.

My wife’s friend is a manager and helps run one of the high roller poker rooms.  I jokingly said to her "If there’s a backer, I’ll play for 20%”.  She told me she’d let me know, because there are a couple of regulars she gets in there who might take me up on it.  To them, it’s entertainment and she says they’ll bet $10K on a hand as easily as the rest of us will bet $10-20.

On the Friday she let me know a group of 50 or so flew in from Thailand and wanted to play for big money, so they opened the high roller rooms for them.  She cautioned me not to get involved with them, though, as the casinos have had trouble with Asian groups before — apparently some casinos had to make an English-speaking only rule, because they would talk to each other in their languages, clean up, and other players complained they might be signaling each other’s hands.

Putting on my Wallyhorse hat for a second. Here's my stab at the WC schedule

Steelers play this Saturday. They are slated to play the Texans the WC round. This game stinks, so Sat 4:35PM

Sat Night game won't be Vikings since they play SNF the week prior. But they still will want some juice. This could be Eagles - Packers. But last year was both AFC games and the Ravens also play this Saturday. So lets pencil in Ravens - Chargers. The Harbaugh Bowl.

Sunday at 1. This would be prime for Commanders/Rams but because of STUPID SEEDING! and the Rams get the home game, that won't happen. Lets go Bills-Broncos here.

Sunday at 4:35. This is the Commanders/Rams slot.

Sunday 8:30. This feels like Eagles/Packers. Plus it circles back to Week 1 which was on Peacock who are owned by NBC, so the rematch goes to SNF.

Monday 8:30. Vikings or Lions/Bucs or Falcons. Vikings/Lions get the extra day of rest for playing on SNF the week prior and the NFL has a hard on for the Lions so they will pencil this in for either Lions or Vikings.

Don’t think the howie part would happen in a million years nor should he want to work with/for woody Johnson

This article honestly makes me cringe. It’s laughable to think that Howie would ever leave the Eagles for such a trash organization, but when equity is involved, I’m sure he would at least listen.

Similar experience — loved the limit games of hold ‘em and 7 card stud.

The no limit games sucked because of rounders and getting 4 morons calling behind you. In theory you have the best hand but with no one understanding they’re going to lose, cumulatively they would beat you.

Meh.  Rams won 10 games.  Commanders won 10 games, and Bears threw 1.

Commanders already said they think seeding is important and will play starters so they will probably get to 12 wins. Rams can only get to 11.

I found my opportunity to stir the pot and took it.

Commanders can't get to 12.  11* is their max.  The Bears throwing a game makes that one an asterisk.  :P

I do. The pass-rush is...not great. We win with coverage. We're also not a great blitzing team other than "WHIP" (drop an EDGE, send Nakobe). Our 5-6 man blitzes rarely get home.

When you only rush four, almost by definition, you don’t often get home.  That doesn’t mean the QB isn’t feeling pressure.  He definitely is, but the quick throws that Carter and Williams and Sweat and Smith are forcing … quick throws that used to kill us … aren’t killing us because the Back Seven is truly seven bodies.  We very much do win with coverage, coverage by seven really solid players.

True, but Daniel was one of the worst backup QBs I can ever remember.  He must have been a wizard in team meetings, scout team practices, etc., because he couldn’t do a thing if he ever had to play in an actual game.

Chase Daniel having a 13-year NFL career is almost unfathomable.

That's precisely my point though. What percentage of backup QBs are pure garbage but they know every detail about the game? More than we think I'd imagine. Doug Peterson was garbage. He won us a SB. Now, he's questionable as a coach since but to backup Favre and then mentor McNabb, there's a lot to say about that and none of it has to do with what he does under center.

I hate limit for kinda the same reason you hate no limit. It’s almost impossible to get people off their hand and they will just call to the river and end up winning even though they are massively behind the entire time. I much rather have the option to play strong, set traps, bluff or smell out others bluffs. Once you get a good read and have patience, you clean up on no limit.

And a record is a record, unless it takes 17 games, Farve slides down, or whatever other caveat someone can think of.

Heard this on the radio earlier, but apparently Joe Buck mentioned something last night about them doing an interview this weekend in Philly in Independence Hall? They speculated that Philly could have the MNF game because why would Joe Buck fly to Philly this weekend to do an interview when he's prepping to call a playoff game elsewhere and then fly somewhere else immediately after?

I didn't hear Buck mention this, I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the announcing.

If it's Eagles/Wash I could see it being MNF. I don't think the NFL would want Eagles/Packers on it though.

Nah. We could need him given how much Slay gets dinged. Let the young guys play.

Okay.  You are treating him as a starter.  I’m cool with that.

Today I would agree with you.

Back in 2000 when the whole poker craze was in full effect it was unbearable to play at lower stakes no limit tables. At least down in New Orleans where I was at the time.

My wife and I spent Christmas week in Las Vegas, returned home on Sunday night.  I’ve been to Las Vegas twice and haven’t spent one second gambling; I simply don’t see the appeal.  I went with my brother in 2013 on a golf vacation and this past week with my wife we spent our time walking the strip, going to see the Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, Fremont Street, took a ride on the High Roller, etc.  There are many things to do there much more interesting and enjoyable than spending all day and night within a casino.

Las Vegas used to be a cheap date (40 years ago) if you stayed out of the Casinos. Cheap hotels, cheap food,  shows were pretty cheap too as I recall. I haven't been there since.

It is not cheap anymore.
