Curious as to who people think is going to be the more sustainable team going forward between the Lions and Vikings. I’d take the lions.  would think on overall talent and quarterback it would be the Lions. But I’m not so sure once Ben Johnson leaves that Dan Campbell is good enough as a coach to make up for that. They would have to find another offensive coordinator that can maximize that talent. Plus, Hutchinson, Gibbs and a couple other guys have to be paid within the next two years.

Looking at Minnesota their head coach a good offensive minded guy. They’re not relying offensively on an offensive coordinator to be really good. O’Connell is the man behind the operation. they likely will worse defensively because I think Brian Flores is gonna wind up getting a head coaching coaching job sometime over the next couple years.

id take the lions but i do it cause Goff behind a good oline has shown he can be consistently good. I’m not sure Sam darnold puts together another year like he has or what his future in Minnesota is with McCarthy there.

I'd actually go with Minnesota, based on the head coach. Dan Campbell is what everyone in the national media thinks Sirianni is -- a buffoon making terrible in game decisions that adds nothing to the team. I feel like if/when Ben Johnson leaves, that team will take a massive step back on the offensive side. I like the talent overall in Detroit more, but Kevin O'Connell is a really good coach and his offense will be sustainable. And Minnesota has by far and away the best player in JJ.

I think the tell that he won’t go for it this week is they immediately shut him down after he crossed 2,000. If the intent is for him to break it, they would have kept him in to make the margin smaller for this week.

Not necessarily. That might have just been an in the moment thing.

There was a lot of fighting in the game, Cowboys were frustrated, don't need them taking cheap shots. Made sense to rest Barkley there. In the moment, sit him. Then evaluate options during the week, which they're doing.

There are a few Amish markets around me that I love to visit. I always assumed the furniture they made would look very basic and just utilitarian. Boy was I wrong. They make some of the most beautiful, well-made and comfortable furniture I've ever sat in. They can make an all-wooden swiveling office chair 1000x times more comfortable than a cushioned one. You'll pay, but it's worth it.

When they put the Tarantula onto Daniel Stern's face in the first movie, his reaction was probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a movie. It still makes me LMAO every single time I see it.

While I think they should sit everyone, and I think they will do so, you are correct that Dallas was taking a ton of cheap shots in that game (garbage organization does garbage things). The hit on Pickett by Osa Odighizuwa was ridiculous -- guy took 3 steps and leveled the QB. He should have been ejected. 100% agreed with getting Barkley out of that game once he hit 2,000 -- Dallas' trash players were looking to hurt someone.

No matter how many times, or how simple this scene is, I still laugh way too hard at it.

Eagles could have to face both. WC weekend if Eagles, Vikings and Commanders win, Eagles vs Vikings is the NFCDG

Well, let's make sure that that doesn't happen then.  :P

And I know you're thinking, how do we have any control over the Commodes... and I'll tell you...

Fun fact, as I'm kind of a Christmas movie nerd. They had to dub in Stern screaming during that as it would have scared the tarantula and potentially cause a bite. During filming, he just laid there pretend screaming.

He's also wearing fake feet the majority of the time he's barefoot.

One scene that makes me laugh way more than it should is when he meets the elf and sees her shoes. Something about his reaction just kills me.

It always reminds me of this (pardon the language)

Daniel Stern makes both of those movies.  When he gets up in the second one after falling through the giant hole in the floor and looking up and saying "WOW.  What a hole!" me and my daughter lose it every time.

I wanted to take Minnesota, but the thing that worries me is Sam Darnold has a regression next year and JJ McCarthy isn’t as good as they thinking. I like O’Connell way more than DC though.

Tbh I really wouldn’t be surprised if Dan Campbell has a Doug Peterson type career after this year. If they don’t win or get to a Super Bowl this year then i could see the lions having a couple playoff years then a big collapse. Then gets fired.

That's a great line too. Home Alone/HA2 and Rookie of the Year he was fantastic.

I think I read somewhere that one of them (Pesci I think) ended up with bad back issues after the one scene where he slipped on the ice and flew back off the stairs.

This matchup between Michigan and Alabama should shut up the whiners about the choices for the playoff.  Alabama should curb stomp Big Blue, if they were a legit playoff contender... but they aren't.

I've seen the second one, but FAR less than the first one. I may have only seen the second one once, actually. I remember it was in NYC, but that's about it.

I still think the light gray or silver should be the alternate color, use a kelly green number with white outline and I think that would be a nice option.

But black is cool.

Facts. Growing up In Pennsyltucky, I do not miss trying to dodge horse $hit on the roads

Skipping way ahead, and following up on some of the conversation about QB salaries and teams maybe no longer paying up, this offseason is going to have 2 really interesting test cases -- Brock Purdy and Sam Darnold. Obviously Darnold's story hasn't been finalized, but Purdy's has. I would like nothing more than for the 49ers to be dumb enough to pay Purdy $55-60mm per year. I thought Dallas made a catastrophic mistake giving Dak $60mm per year with $231mm of the $240mm guaranteed -- guy had a team with 9 all pros and got bounced in the Wild Card round. Add on horrible contracts given to Lawrence and Tua, and if there is ever a time for NFL teams to finally say no, they have plenty of ammo (this ignores the Kirk Cousins insanity as well).

If I'm the 49ers and the Vikings, I'm going to each guy with a Baker Mayfield type offer: 3 years, $100mm, $50mm guaranteed. I'd bump that up to $120mm over 3 years and $60mm guaranteed. When they turn that down, I'd let them hit the market. Both these offenses have shown the ability to win with other QBs, and there are going to be cheaper options. I think someone will be dumb enough to pay Darnold ~$55mm AAV, and the Vikings should get the comp pick, wish him well, and turn it over to McCarthy. The 49ers should see if ANYONE will pay Purdy -- I still believe Dak wouldn't have sniffed that contract on the open market.

If we are ever going to see teams take a stand, it will be this offseason, and these 2 teams, IMO.

EDIT: Keep Purdy on his current contract, let him test market after next year if he doesn't want the Baker deal.

I don't have a ton of faith in Jared Goff without Ben Johnson though. He had McVay and wasn't anything special after 2018.

Vikings seem to have these types of stories regularly.   No one expected them to go 15-1 with Cunningham.  No one expected them to go 12-4 or was it 13-3 with Case Keenum in '17.  This just seems to happen with them, but they struggle to seal the deal.
