Green_Guinness Posted August 6, 2021 Share Posted August 6, 2021 Just finished watching The Suicide Squad. I didn't see the first one from 2016 so can't make a comparison. This was pretty good. A bit over the top and campy at times, but had funny moments throughout the film and the pace was right out of the gate and never stopped until the end. I always liked the first 2 episodes more after watching more of the show, because you have so much familiarity with the main trio and Carl. But the first 2 episodes brand new are such a weird/bizarre adjustment that it wasn't until episode 3 that the show pulled me in. Similarly, South Park (tbf I was in middle school) didn't "hook" me until Cartman made a welfare joke about Kenny with regards to buying him a toy for Cartman's birthday party. It's pretty easy to just scroll by a post IMO. Even if you are being heavily trolled its usually mildly amusing at worst. It works for Guardians of the Galaxy, but to me it comes off as just cheap humor in both of these movies. Agreed with all that and then there’s The scene of bloodsport and peacemaker going side by side killing guys which was a direct rip off of the scene in fast and furious where Hobbs and Shaw ran the gauntlet.
