EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

The NFC is so wide open, that we just need the offense to not be this incompetent. Begging for there to be a switch to flip. Maybe Patullo gets the flu.

Stafford had 2 picks on the year and none in 8 games heading to Carolina on November 30th.

He now has 6 in his last 5 including 2 pick sixes.

Detroit has scored 30+ in only 3 of their last 11 games.

Giants, Commies, Rams

If Jacksonville and Houston are hot then LA is ice cold.

For all this talk would be funny if the Eagles just got the 2 seed.

I do think the Niners probably win at home, but the Seahawks definitely could win. That defense is really good and the Niners defense does suck. And Trent Williams hurt his hammy, who knows if he's ready by Saturday.

But either way I don't really care that much. You can make a case for either team as the toughest challenge and I don't think there is any clear answer. The Eagles aren't going to the SB unless the offense turns it around. If it does, they should beat anybody. If not, I'd rather go out early than lose in the NFCCG or something in heartbreaking fashion because they spent an entire half running Barkley into a stacked box and then had Hurts drop back and throw to nobody as a double digit lead slowly melts away.

So GB is locked into the 7 seed, so they'll rest their starters.

If SF wins on Saturday, LAR will be locked into the 6 seed, so they'll rest their starters.

If we play for the 2 seed, regardless of outcome, we'll be playing against a rested team.

Rams went from #1 Seed and winning the Division having a bye and being at Home to a Wild Card on the road in a few weeks. So it's down to Packers Rematch, Rams Rematch or 49ers for our first challenger. I like our chances. As for the #2 Seed. I think the backups can beat Washington. Also will the Bears play their starters? They now know they can't get the #1 Seed so next week will be their only chance for a bye.

McVay said they're playing the starters but he could change his mind.

Not your main point but CMC was hurting w/ a tight back, as well.

Green Bay:

Kraft

Jenkins

Wyatt

Parsons

Fitzpatrick

Riley

Hadden

Will all be resting along with some others during their first round playoff game.

No matter what happens the 2 seed will play a home playoff game in round 2 if they beat the 7th seed.

Its going to be really weird.

The Bears are 1 for their last 13 vs the Packers not counting a BS week 18 game last year where the Packers like 1/4 tried.

They lost to the Packers this year and won an OT game on a miracle onsides kick.

I just don't see them being super excited to play the division rival Packers for a 3rd time.

I get anyone else wanting to play the 7th seed Packers but not the Bears.

The Lions will try to kill them next week to take out their frustration over 2025 on them.

They may want a rematch of the 49ers in their house after last week? They may not care less about the Rams?

Its really hard to say if they will try and if they will win even if they do try.

This is tough…

I agree it's tricky to play a Division Team 3 times. But do you really think the Bears would rather play the 9ers who just put a 40 burger on them or the Rams who can hang with them Offensively over a struggling Packers team. I don't know. Anyways the Lions could want to get one last win to end the season on the high note. As for us, Tanner Mckee should be able to outplay Josh Johnson. I believe we should rest starters, it's been a long year.

To me its 2 of these 3

McCaffrey, Taylor, Cook based on TDs, rushing yards, yards from scrmmage

The last week counts and may decide it.

Robinson could jump into the mix with a 185 yard 3 TD game.

Achane, no way in hell. Henry before Achane.

I believe the Bears think they would beat the 49ers in their house and I believe the Bears think the Lions would try to rough them up this week. I don't think there is a team in the entire NFL that has the slightest worry about this fraudulent Rams team.

The Seahawks D is very good but Darnold in the playoffs is a gift to your D.

I have zero worries about 30 McKee passes and 20+ Tank runs beating the crud out of the DC pathetic losers.

Tbh i might already have Bijan ahead of cook and Taylor. Unfortunately taylor kind of regressed down the stretch because of Qb play when daniel jones got hurt. He’s hasn’t had a game over 4.0 yards per carry in his last 6.

Bijan currently has 1445 rushing yards and 810 receiving yards (2,255 total yards) with a combined 11 tds. Tough to leave cook off as leads the league in rushing but he has 1606 rushing yards and 291 receiving (1897 total yards) with 14 tds. I’d go cmc cause he’s about to have 1000 rushing and he may get 1000 receiving yards if he gets 110 vs. Seattle with 17 tds. Imo up to cook or Bijan. I’d probably go Bijan just due to the receiving aspect being significantly different.

Obviously getting GB would be much better than anyone else. However, if it's a choice between the Rams and 49'ers I will take the Rams all day. The 49'ers are white hot offensively right now and the Rams aren't exactly clicking on all cylinders down the stretch.

Rams play us tougher than anybody. Tough call. I think we match up better vs SF than the Rams WRs with Matt. Plus I'm sure the league wants LA in the SB.

That being said I'd rather Nick rest the starters and play the Rams week 1 at home fresh. If they beat them the hardest team is out of the way. If they lose we are out of our misery quickly.

The Eagles are on a 4 game winning streak against the Rams and Packers. Yes they beat the 9ers in the NFC Title but we haven't played them in a while. We are more familiar with Rams and Packers. I'm not scared of any of them as Rams and 9ers will have to travel on the road from West to East. Packers haven't looked the hottest since Micah went down.

If Jake would have made a FG vs LA we'd be getting the Pack and cruising.

The Broncos, Cowboys and Chargers games were all winnable games. Only the Bears and GMen were outright losses. Despite all that, they can still end up #2 like last year. Rams and 9ers have playoff experience so those will be tough matchups. Packers can be dangerous at times but I believe we just have their number (Same with the Rams).

LA is the 6th seed regardless. Either SF or Seattle will be the 5th seed.

The Rams terrify me. I don't want to meet them until the NFC Championship game should we get there and I'm not interested in ending the misery quickly. Bring on several more weeks of being upset with the performance on O.

As for Sunday, rest the starters and beat Wash with our backups.

Used the playoff generator and this is the outcome I think will happen:

Seahawks - 1 Seed

7 Packers @ 2 Eagles

6 49ers @ 3 Bears

5 Rams @ 4 Panthers

Eagles and Packers rematch, 49ers and Bears Rematch, Rams and Panthers Rematch.

Wash leads the all time series 90-88-6

Wash won the first two games of the series back in 1934 and have led ever since. The Eagles have slowly been catching up since the early 90s and we've never been closer to tying it up as we are now. Eagles are 8-2 over the last 10.

The same thing played out with the Giants until we finally passed them back in 2019 and now lead the series by 7 games.
