I don't doubt any of what you say, but all the weight room time and classroom work in the world doesn't equate to time on the practice field, especially for young players who are projects to begin with. Things like proper footwork and hand placement techniques aren't developed through mental reps and study in classrooms or in weight rooms, but rather through hundreds and thousands of practice reps, especially on the scout team.

Don’t disagree he needs practice reps to help him reach his full development. I would be very surprised if they don’t have him working with somebody on with technique even if it’s not practice field. Imo I don’t think they would send him ut to practice and potentially get injured (more injured?) unless they felt his development had at least come along that he could survive not practicing for months. Same with Hinton and Lampkin.

Do I think he needs to practice reps to reach his full potential? Yes. But they have gotten to work with him since the NFL draft. If you’re gonna tell me from the end of the draft when they drafted him till now he hasn’t made any improvement or they haven’t worked with him at all, I would find it hard to believe. If that’s true it would tell me they’ve done nothing over the course of 8 months that he has been there. I have a hard time believing that. I think the bigger question is how much has he improved over that time. But to say they didn’t get to work with him is frankly kind of BS as he’s in that building every day doing something albeit not practice field

The downside to signing Adomitis -- if it becomes necessary -- is that you can't sign him to the practice squad because he's already on Pittsburgh's. So you'd have to put him on your 53. So you'd be right back where you started from. You wouldn't be gaining the roster spot that you had planned.

That would be idiotic

I just don't see how this risk is worth it. Any team like the Cowboys could decide to claim him just and put another player on IR for one game. Seems like such an unnecessary gamble like Howie getting too cute having to make moves

I've thought almost since the first time I watched him (right after the draft) that Williams might have a future at guard. He looks like a powerful guy who has waistbending issues which can be exploited on the outside. But he's powerful enough to be something at guard, kinda like Becton. (Yes, I know he's not as big as Becton. Almost no one is.)

Tbh that is what my thought was. Why i keep saying OL not OT. I actually thought the same as you that they are going to try to make him into a version of Becton after they saw what stoutland did with Becton. Albeit he’s not as big as Becton like you said. But he is still 6’6 317 with 34 1/2 arm length (Becton 6’7 364 35 5/8 arm length according to mockdraftable at time of draft) at the combine. Working with the eagles training staff he might get stronger and add more to his frame.

I feel this way, if he is able to make the jump in 2026 to being a competent backup to someone like Dickerson/steen and keeps improving i don’t think it’s out of the question he’s competing for the starting RG spot in 2027. Granted i don’t know if the eagles view him more as a OT or OG. Imo think they believe he can be like lesser version of Becton at RG

I would much rather have played this game with AJ Dillon. Howie tried this with Christian Ellis a few years ago and got burned - lost a core special teamer.

I was just about to post that AJ Dillon has no value to this team. Why not cut him?

If you pressure Stafford, he can be rattled (see last night, playoff game last year). The Rams line is good, not great. I think we can pressure him again like we did in the playoffs last year, and that makes him much less effective. We had 5 sacks and 6 QB hits against him in the playoffs last year, and I'd argue out pass rush is better now (Phillips > Sweat, Ojomo > Williams, Davis > Davis, Hunt better this year and JC hopefully healthy). We only sacked him once back in September, but we hit him 7 times -- that game was his lowest QB rating all year before last night (Atlanta sacked him 3 times and hit him 5 times). Our pass rush is significantly better now.

Yup...I have watched Goff, Love, and Allen this year all rattled and sped up this second half of the season. Goff and Love completely gave up looking downfield by the second half in their games. If the Eagles can put pressure with 4 and not needing to send extra they will shutdown Bradford. What Allen really saw beyond the pressure was how well the coverage was. There just are not options for very long against the D, especially with how well the LB's can pick the RB's and TE's.

Yeah I am just sticking to my theory that came up from assigning the Niners-Seahawks game to a Saturday. If the Eagles play the Niners, I definitely see the Niners playing on Saturday and the Eagles with a short week. AlthoughTB/Carolina also falls under the same conditions.

Maybe. I’d have to know how the networks get to pick games. I know Fox is usually nfc and cbs is usually afc. I have a harder time imagining Fox early Saturday game is going to choose sf/eagles. It’s not a great time slot. Feels more like 4/5 nfc. Whereas better time slot for Fox for that sf/eagles game would be late afternoon Sunday. Then again i believe 4-5 nfc game has been the MNF slot since the inception of the MNF game for the postseason.

It is all about the money and ESPN has the deepest pockets. The Seattle-Niners game no right being on Saturday night. The game for the #1 seed in the NFC should definitely be the Sunday Night game...money is influence unfortunately.

Yeah but then Howie wouldn’t have Dillion to celebrate the Jewish holidays together with.

I could be entirely wrong, but I remember in previous years that Fox (NFC) and CBS (afc) get to choose one of the AFC and NFC games to keep.

I really think the national media has missed the boat on how well our secondary has been playing. Yeah, we've played some bad teams in this stretch, but we've also shut down some good passing attacks with good (or at least media darling) QBs since adding Phillips and moving Adoree to the wide side exclusively.

Love -- 20/36, 176 yards, 4.9 YPA, 0 TD, 0 INT, 68.8 Rating

Goff -- 14/37, 255, 6.9 YPA, 1 TD, 1 INT, 60.1 rating

Dak -- 23/36, 354, 9.8 YPA, 2 TD, 1 INT, 103.2 rating

Caleb - 17/36, 154, 4.3 YPA, 1 TD, 1 INT, 56.9 rating

Herbert - 12/26, 139, 5.3 YPA, 1 TD, 1 INT, 59.6 rating

Allen - 23/35, 266, 7.5 YPA, 0 TD, 0 INT, 88.0 rating

Basically, only Dak played well, and most were terrible. And we won't have to worry about Dak in the playoffs...

Maybe cardi B will make a song about it.

Dak did not play all that well. The refs went Michael Irvin retro day and allowed 8+ push offs by Cowboys WRs and even called DeJean for being pushed. That game was fixed ( and Baun went Jaquiski Tartt mode)

LOL - they really are embracing the white DB thing all the way

yup...I have a feeling the day and times might be rotated from year to year. I would not be surprised if CBS and Fox has a contractual agreement to get a game of their choice, but it sure looks like ESPN was slated into exclusive coverage of the Saturday games and made sure they got a big one. I do not believe the NFL was independent decision makers.

Dak played well cause he also has lamb and Pickens. Only team in the playoff field in the nfc with receivers like that are the eagles and rams if Adams is healthy (we have a better pass rush now and playing better defensively but nacua gave us— really mostly everyone— issues and Adams wasn’t fully acclimated into their offense in week 3 like he’d be now albeit off an injury). It’s why I think defensively we matchup better with SF. Our second can cover their WRs. And our linebackers are good enough to cover a hobbled kittle and slow down cmc. Plus if Williams is hobbled i could see us taking it to purdy and rattling him.

Funny how some folks are saying they aren't afraid of certain teams in the playoffs. With the offense playing like dog crap I'm scared of everyone.

On paper we should be able to beat anyone with the talent we have

Have a feeling the nfl gave espn that Seahawks/niners game (along with money speaking) cause they are very likely winding up with a MNF WC game that may be a 4/5 seed and not have the ratings draw. Like if ravens win then it could be ravens/texans which might be the least sexy out of the 6 games besides possibly the 4/5 game in the nfc.

And as was pointed out, he benefited from some...questionable calls and a dropped pick. But yes, you need 2 elite WRs to give us trouble, but the Rams really struggle in close games on the road and in the cold. And who knows how healthy Adams is. I still think if you hit Stafford you can rattle him.

@vikas83 Thanks for reminding me that Stafford lost the 2021 NFCCG but Tartt literally dropped the ball.

I had been mistaken that Stafford earned a SB legitimately on merit.

Bowels calling the crazy blitz in Tampa with like 20 seconds left felt like it should be investigated for betting crime too. Insane Brady comeback followed by " let’s just give Cupp the middle of the field” Stafford just lobbed it easy.

Add in the free OBJ because he was a scumbag and 2021 was easy button.

As you said if Donald and co are a split second late then Burrow probably hits Chase for the win.

23 points in the SB is nothing special.

The cult of Hurts Hate is the worst religion but Stafford licking is a close second.

I’ve said this before if the eagles can get to 24 every game this postseason they’ll win every game. That said i don’t know if they can do that. They have defended where they should like SF, Chicago and even rams. Not sure if they will
