The cult of Hurts Hate is the worst religion but Stafford licking is a close second.

I usually don't get caught up in this boob for tat game....but....Stafford with time missed a wide open WR by almost 10 yards in the final minute of last night's game...wide open for the TD and it is pretty much crickets and tumbleweeds. I don't look for individual fault on any given play because stuff just happens all the time with human beings...I look for patterns. But if I were into that critical, negative, reactive thinking, that throw would be the first play I would start this morning.

The downside to signing Adomitis -- if it becomes necessary -- is that you can't sign him to the practice squad because he's already on Pittsburgh's. So you'd have to put him on your 53. So you'd be right back where you started from. You wouldn't be gaining the roster spot that you had planned.

100% true, but it's a risk they're clearly willing to take.

And as was pointed out, he benefited from some...questionable calls and a dropped pick. But yes, you need 2 elite WRs to give us trouble, but the Rams really struggle in close games on the road and in the cold. And who knows how healthy Adams is. I still think if you hit Stafford you can rattle him.

true. However sf has been bad outside of the division against better teams (Tampa at the time was very good). They lost to the jags, Texans and Bucs. Beat the bears and gave up 38. Struggled with Carolina. So 2-3 (also struggled with Atlanta, saints and first time cardinals). Playing much better now offensively but defensively i think they are worse than they were at that point due to injuries

I’ve said this before if the eagles can get to 24 every game this postseason they’ll win every game. That said i don’t know if they can do that. They have defended where they should like SF, Chicago and even rams. Not sure if they will

Time to take off the bubble wrap.

I just don't see how this risk is worth it. Any team like the Cowboys could decide to claim him just and put another player on IR for one game. Seems like such an unnecessary gamble like Howie getting too cute having to make moves

Problem with that is that they'd have to cut a guy. At this point teams out of they playoffs are more interested in signing guys to their 53 man from other teams PS's that they've had their eyes on all year and want to steal to have a leg up on to keeping around and trying to develop over this offseason. The last thing they're looking to do is sign a 30+ YO long snapper just to screw over a rival.

This will end well

In the playoffs against really good offenses it is all about not settling for field goals. Those are just moral victories. The Eagles must be adaptive, creative and aggressive in order to win. In the playoffs it really is about outscoring the opponents rather than holding the other team back...of course I am confident the Eagles D will definitely show up.

On paper we should be able to beat anyone with the talent we have

On paper they should put up 24+ points a game like EAGLES talked about. On paper they have better offensive weapons than Chicago and the 49ers who scored 30+ the other day. On paper they have better receivers than the Rams who make it look easy moving up and down the field. The problem is KP and Nick are trash and it's criminal what they are doing wasting that talent. I can't remember seeing two NFL coaches wast this much offensive talent.

This is such a ridiculous, old man way of thinking. Keep being you, Jerry.

Eh, it's easy to say it's race, but it's really that a lot of "analysts" will never move off their draft takes no matter what, combined with they are all entertainers as opposed to analysts. Stafford was the number one overall pick and the media narrative is that Detroit wasted his talent (he did have a top 10 all time WR, but whatever) and he has exceled with McVay. So he'll never get dumped on because guys like Orlovsky and Cowherd will defend him to the death. Meanwhile, Hurts was a 2nd round pick that experts thought would never be a starting QB, so anytime he struggles it is validation of their opinion. The guy could win the next 2 Super Bowl MVPs, and Dan Orlovsky will be on TV saying he sucks the second he misses a throw.

The entire sports media landscape has devolved into First Take style hot takes and idiocy, and guys simply have their shticks/opinions and never change them. Stephen A hates Dallas, Cowherd loves LA, Nick Wright loves KC and hates Philly. They are all just playing characters at this point to try and drive engagement. And crapping on Hurts drives engagement.

I think based on the graphic that was put up yesterday, that the eagles offense goes 3&out at a rate of 3-4x more often than the other playoff teams. We have to extend these drives to muster a few more points, balance out the ToP and give our defense a chance to close in the 4thQ.

I'm in this weird position with the offense where I have little confidence in them maintaining a two-score lead but at the same time, if they go down two scores I have confidence that they'll be able to get back into it like they did in the second half of the Rams game. I don't know if it's a mental thing. I don't know if Nick/KP open it up more when they're down. And I don't know if the opposing defense play softer.

When we are trailing, they take the straight jacket off and let them play. When we have a lead, we turtle up completely.

lol Top secret stuff with LS

I didn’t read these but the entire premise of both articles seems both obvious and idiotic

Can Michael Clay long snap?

For all the talk about the Eagles resting their starters is there any guarantee the Bears play theirs? I think they will, but not sure it's already been confirmed or not,

I believe Dan Campbell said the Lions are playing their starters, which isn't surprising. It's idiotic, but not surprising.

Clearly it’s going to be Calcaterra so he can add to the resume he can catch, run block and long snap….

Maybe stop calling the same predictable run play on 1st down every time. This guy is completely clueless.

He could be lying, or change his mind, but as of now they say starters are playing:

Don’t disagree he needs practice reps to help him reach his full development. I would be very surprised if they don’t have him working with somebody on with technique even if it’s not practice field. Imo I don’t think they would send him ut to practice and potentially get injured (more injured?) unless they felt his development had at least come along that he could survive not practicing for months. Same with Hinton and Lampkin.

Do I think he needs to practice reps to reach his full potential? Yes. But they have gotten to work with him since the NFL draft. If you’re gonna tell me from the end of the draft when they drafted him till now he hasn’t made any improvement or they haven’t worked with him at all, I would find it hard to believe. If that’s true it would tell me they’ve done nothing over the course of 8 months that he has been there. I have a hard time believing that. I think the bigger question is how much has he improved over that time. But to say they didn’t get to work with him is frankly kind of BS as he’s in that building every day doing something albeit not practice field

I'm fairly certain that working with him (or any other player) on things like you are talking about (i.e. technique/football drills) off the field while on IR is strictly forbidden by the CBA. If the team were doing things like that, the NFLPA would file an immediate grievance.

Looking at Goff’s contract, 2026 might be his last year there if things unravel more. Tbh he like Dallas with Dak, i also think should look to deal him to a team in desperate need of Qb. Cash out and go draft and develop a Qb. Lions and cowboys won’t do it but i don’t see either winning big when it’s the biggest moment
