I love that we drafted two players who can really attack a defense. Bell, I think he could have been had later, so a reach that I hope isn't a reach. Love getting Grennard. Now, we just wait until June.

I think Lemon could get 90+ targets as a rookie. I’m living at the other end of the spectrum.

I think 70-80 is realistic

Wonder if the Eagles intend to convert someone to OG. Have no depth there at all. Sign Becton?

Wasn't it reported the Eagles weren't interested in bringing him back?

Agreed on all, although the draft had gone completely off the rails LONG Before they took Bell at 68 so trying to figure out who was a reach and who was a value pick tonight is damn near impossible. It literally started immediately with Stribling going 33 to the 49'ers. Tonight not only proved yet again that this was a bad draft, but it also proved just how all over the place opinions were on players.

Saw this live, finally saw the video to post.

Nextgen Stats has Stowers as 2nd best value pick of round 2.

Eli Stowers

Vanderbilt · TE · Senior

Philadelphia Eagles

Round 2 · No. 54 overall

  • Production Score: 82

  • Athleticism Score: 86

  • OVERALL DRAFT SCORE: 85

GM Howie Roseman does it again. Less than 24 hours after scooping up receiver Makai Lemon later than expected in Round 1, the Eagles added another value pick to the skill group in Stowers, who looked like one of the stronger Day 2 sleepers entering the draft. A.J. Brown isn't the only pass-catching weapon who might soon need to be replaced in Philly; 31-year-old Dallas Goedert re-signed this offseason on a one-year deal and averaged less than 10 yards per catch for the first time in his career in 2025, while the Eagles' tight end group overall finished with the sixth-lowest total receiving yards in the NFL. Stowers brings plenty of proven production and tons of explosiveness to an offense that needs it.

As we noted earlier this week, the only other tight end in this class to top 80 in the production and athleticism categories was Kenyon Sadiq -- and Roseman managed to nab Stowers 38 picks after the Jets took Sadiq, without compromising his ability to bolster the roster with Lemon or offensive tackle Markel Bell (No. 68 overall).

I saw a tweet earlier that I thought was fake news. It said the 49ers were going to draft Germie Bernard. Someone make a joke about Stribling, and whoever submits the picks turned in the card.

Thought it was fake. But then, theres this.

When Bell comes to town, they need to send him out with Jordan Davis to get a Pelleton.

My wife happened to walk in the room right at that exact moment and said, "who is this dude showing his prison pocket?” Yeah, she’s a keeper.

It’s gonna be Wicks X, Smith Y, Lemon slot.

Brown, if he makes the team, will get thrown in for softening the defense downfield periodically.

Stowers is a huge wild card. I’d love for him to be the X. But a pseudo TE rookie isn’t going to just waltz into that role. He’ll get thrown sparingly into packages at first, like Brown (albeit different utilization)….and his role will increase over time if he impresses.

But surely the Eagles, who need an X (and a TE of the future), have to be aware that most of Stowers’ biggest draft fans see him as more X than TE.

I think his biggest draft fans see him as a big slot. He might have the frame and testing athleticism of an X, but he doesn’t have any of the technical skills. He’s new to TE so he can learn the nuances, but it’s a big stretch to project him to being a real X receiver. It’s the hardest WR position to play.

Stowers will be a part time player Year 1, get him into a weight room and give him a full year to learn the TE position behind Goedert, teach him how to block a little and groom him to be their receiving TE post-Goedert in 2027. His frame can easily get to 245-250 lbs.

To end the night, LOL at WIP and all the Hurts Haters that were collectively hoping and trying to talk into existence the Eagles taking a QB in the first 3 rounds of the draft.

Jalen Hurts will end his career as the longest tenured starting QB for the Eagles in their history.

Vikings fans seem to be mostly upset that they only got two 3rd round picks in return. That speaks highly of Greenard.

Not a surprise with the Mannion connection, but I think best case scenario this offense is a better version of the Packers offense. DeVonta is a better receiver than anyone they have had, Wicks obviously has the GB connection, and Lemon is hopefully a healthier and better Jayden Reed. And the Stowers pick feels like a Tucker Kraft comp if he can add some weight. Kraft was on a tear last year before he got hurt. And then Jacobs is of course the Saquon comp, but ideally this is still a run-oriented offense. We shouldn’t be shocked, but every move on offense has Mannion’s fingerprints on it.

Wonder who if anyone could have value and be traded for picks tomorrow. McKee? Maybe one of the corners? No one probably wants them. Shipley? Cooper?

Maybe just McKee I guess.
