I’ve got a weird feeling that you’re down on Lemon. Am I correct in assuming that?

I think Lemon could get 90+ targets as a rookie. I’m living at the other end of the spectrum.

Anyone expendable on our roster able to land us a 4th rounder or move up into the 4th round?

Wonder if the Eagles try to flip someone on the roster for a 4th to try and get Kilgore. Don't know who that'd be though.

There are two consensus big boards I keep referencing. Both a little different.

One had Stowers as a +4 pick(consensus 50) and the other had him at 0, consensus right at the Eagles pick of 54.

One had Bell as a -24(consensus 92) and the other had him -49(consensus 117).

Eagles were not the only team with minuses in the consensus, there were lots of teams some with much greater.

They said Bell was a passion pick. Would have liked to have seen a trade back but again we'll see.

He’s very good but far from great, which is why I criticized him all offseason. Howie thinks he’s got a 3 plus change coming in for our departed FA’s this year, so I bet he felt it was dispensable.

Tend to think he is also going to have AJ’s compensation as well so he was more willing to do it. Imo i think we overpaid when he needed a new deal and Minnesota was never giving it to him

Bennett or Ringo.

We couldn’t get Mr Irrelevant for Bennett. Maybe not even Ringo, who is a good gunner.

So is it Stowers at X, Smitty at Y, and Lemon in the slot?

Stowers will take over for Calcaterra as the blocking TE.

I still really like Micah Morris as a Guard prospect as well if we're not really going the outside zone route

If nothing else I think him and Lemon both have pretty good arms if we're thinking trick plays

I don't know if he'll be available in the 5th, but Kaleb Proctor feels like a very Eaglesy pick.

It’s gonna be Wicks X, Smith Y, Lemon slot.

Brown, if he makes the team, will get thrown in for softening the defense downfield periodically.

Stowers is a huge wild card. I’d love for him to be the X. But a pseudo TE rookie isn’t going to just waltz into that role. He’ll get thrown sparingly into packages at first, like Brown (albeit different utilization)….and his role will increase over time if he impresses.

But surely the Eagles, who need an X (and a TE of the future), have to be aware that most of Stowers’ biggest draft fans see him as more X than TE.

This is without a doubt the weirdest draft I have ever watched. There are always draft surprises but tonight was absolutely bonkers. Stuff like Stribling going 33, Boerkircher as the 3rd TE off the board at 56, Klein as the 4th at 59, EMW falling to 58, Carson FN Beck at 65, Will Kacmarek at 87, Pregnon and Chris Bell falling to 88 and 94. Meanwhile you have guys like Jermod McCoy, Keith Abney, Keionte Scott, Connor Lew, Dani Dennis-Sutton, Jalon Kilgore, Kamari Ramsey, Justin Joly, and Garrett Nussmeier who haven't been drafted yet. Insane.

Kacmarek at 87 which is FN insane. Then again Boerkircher at 56 and being the third TE off the board was even more insane.

Wonder if the Eagles intend to convert someone to OG. Have no depth there at all. Sign Becton?

I kind of wonder if they don’t have a handshake arrangement with Becton that gets signed the day comp picks aren’t impacted.

You guys gets way too caught up in this kind of stuff and watching people's head explode because "Stowers isn't quite a WR, but he isn't really a TE" is hilarious. Not saying you specifically, just people. Guess what Stowers is, he's an offensive weapon and they didn't draft him without a plan for how to use him. Sadiq is a definitely a better blocker, more experienced, and better. That being said I find it hilarious that some of the same people who wanted him hate the Stowers pick considering they both play the same role and neither are traditional "Y tight ends" who play inline. Stowers is essentially a far more athletic version of Harold Fannin Jr. and he sure looked pretty good last season in Cleveland. Tight end isn't what it used to be and some people are really slow to catch onto that.

What good kickers can we draft tomorrow
