I think McKee is going to get traded. Either in a deal for a player or another pick to replenish what they lose if they trade up.

I think it depends on whether they draft a QB with decent potential as a back up. That may be the strength of this QB draft. Question is when will they go.

Happy 420. For those who celebrate.

My folks grew up in the Midwest where this guy toured with his polka band. I remember coming home baked on a Sunday evening to my folks watching this on TV and trying like hell to not laugh to loud.

I can't wait to root against the pats this year. F that entire organization.

Anyone like fat running backs?

Derrick Henry is 6'2" (taller than I thought) and 252 lbs. per pro football reference. 5'11" and 245 doesn't seem that fat.

I saw 255 somewhere. Anyway, look at him. Hes a fat RB.

D'Angelo Ponds has risen a fair bit

Not really a Carton fan, but enjoyed this

He only gets moved for a 2027 pick(s) so Howie can be patient for the right opportunity

Jacas being impressive

I love jacas. Kind of think if he’s there with our second and we don’t trade for someone like greenard he’s a very eagles pick

Can't see Howie settling for a 1st in a draft two years away especially when 2027 is supposed to be loaded.

I love NE fans thinking they were getting him for a late 2nd or 3rd. Howie was never dealing him without getting at least a first

I think he ends up getting a 1st but it's not going to be a 1st and 3rd plus more like was being floated around during the start of free agency. That was the price of doing a deal before 6/1. After 6/1, I think that changes things and Howie loses some leverage and comes down on the price.

This is why they should investigate for tampering. If Vrabel was using his hoe side piece to lower the value to a 2nd.

Yeah, but I think the added value of getting a 2027 1st vs. the 31st pick in this draft makes that tradeoff well worth it in our favor. The Pats and the Bears are the 2 most obvious candidates for regression in 2026 - going from last place schedules to 1st place schedules. I think we're likely to be getting a pick in the teens in a better draft next year. I'd trade AJ for their 2027 1st and be happy.

It's really unfortunate they're in a division with the Jets and Dolphins though. That caps the regression potential

I do think there is some merit to speculation that Howie told the Patriots if you want AJ you better give me what I want or I'm gonna really push to have the NFL look into tampering.

But they draw the AFC West and NFC North this year too, along with getting Seattle as their extra NFC opponent.

8-9 seems very plausible.

Sigh,

Russini can't tamper. Vrabel feeding information to any reporter isn't tampering. It's literally what all these GM's and agents do with media. They feed them what they want to be put out there.

It's collusion. It's shady journalism. It's not tampering.

It's hilarious to me so many people think Dianna Russini can somehow use her magic powers to lower leverage or value of trades. As if Howie doesn't have his own sources, his own media members and his own inside information that trumps ANY reporter in the business. Howie isn't going to cower in trade talks because Russini said AJ is worth a 2nd on twitter. He's literally going to point to the Jaylen Waddle and DJ Moore trades and tell the Patriots to offer better.

Just my hunch but I think they ultimately settle on a 2028 first and maybe some type of 2027 swap. Either way, I agree that picks in 2027 or 2028 are ultimately better than getting anything now in 2026. Howie probably preferred that anyway and has the job stability he can make a trade for a 2028 pick and not lose sleep.

Fair. I don't know all the rules about tampering. I now teams and agents feed info to the media to try and create leverage and that's allowed. There are also times in life when something may be legal, but because of the appearance and for PR companies will discipline an employee, or in this case the league could give a slap on the wrist. But it's the Patriots so the league won't.

Any potential tampering people are looking at it from the wrong angle because they're bitter about Russini. Any tampering has always come from Vrabel's side and would be him openly admitting he texts AJ Brown all the time and I can pretty much guarantee those conversations weren't just "What did you eat for dinner?"

The Patriots don't exactly have some amazing established QB, and no Maye is not that, I don't care what kinda season he had in 2025, he's a guy who had one good year and a terrible playoff run, the fact that the Patriots are AJ Brown's #1 preferred team over like the Bills, Chiefs, etc is pretty telling, I can guarantee it's because of Vrabel and I'd bet anything those texts probably played at least a part in it.

If there's any tampering this is all Vrabel. If Russini played a part it's Vrabel using her to push stories, but that's still all Vrabel.

Tampering is essentially contact between any coach/FO member of one team contacting a player under contract on another team when it comes to issues like recruitment or luring them away from the original team. That's why I said the bigger tampering issue and what really should be investigated is what exactly Vrabel is/was texting AJ Brown. If it really was just checking in on a former mentor/player/friend it's fine. But as soon as it crosses the line of something like Vrabel saying "we'd love to have you as a Patriot" or "I'd love to reunite with you" that's tampering.
