I wouldn't hate it at 23 given the upside. Would be a very "meh" pick to me.

Faulk gives me some Chandler Jones vibes. Similar athletic profiles. After years of having a blindspot for twitchy run-around guys, Jones was the first edge prospect who made me start valuing prospects with the play strength to go through blockers. Shortest distance to the ball carrier is a straight line. Fangio also favors these long, rugged types. I think Faulk would be a total home run of a pick.

So we are drafting JJAW and a nickel CB with our first 2 picks? At least we are making up with it by drafting the TE that is the opposite of a Freakbeast late in the draft. 10 out of 10 Howies.

Boston is anything but JJAW. Not sure who came up with that sh!t but this dude is an excellent route runner and can get in and out of breaks. his measurements in 3 cone and shuttle show that unlike JJAW who was brutal

Here is Steve Smith talking about Denzel Boston for you JJAW schmucks

Boom-bust I think. In terms of Freeling, just look at this picture from the article... he's got to clean this up.

Agreed, but if they’re gonna take a 1st round OT this year or next (they almost definitely will), give me the guy with the prototype dimensions.

What a rebound after the bad Proctor pick!

I have to remember not to get too down after round 1 this year if the letdown comes. Day 2 and 3 is where its at in this draft.

Honestly, the 1st round is the hardest pick to make. Kinda feel like Howie is going to trade back - I know the speculation is we trade up for Proctor or Freeling, but in a better draft, they'd both be late 1st round picks. On the board in that mock were Proctor, Miller, Max and Sadiq. Among those 4, I went with the guy with the mammoth physical profile who could be either guard or tackle. Max also has a ton of upside given his limited experience, so that would have been my backup. I want no part of Miller or a 1st round TE.

Basically, at 23 in this draft, I'd think a higher risk/reward play makes sense.

Yeah, it was a couple days ago where somebody here posed the question "what player at 23 would you be angry about if Howie passed on"... which is to me a very short list realistically. Rounds 2-4, different story - much more invested.

Oh Jerry, never change, and please draft Tyson in round 1.

Sure - fortunately we have 1yr of runway (hopefully).

The crazy thing is - if somehow Ioane were on the board at 23, I'd be livid if we passed, and I would generally never want iOL in round 1. But he'll be gone.

I think the play is to swing for the fences with a guy that could develop - to me that's Freeling (will be gone), Proctor or Max.

Yeah - guys are reaching. Trade back Howie.

It doesn't have to be tricky. There are a lot of landmines and potential landmines to avoid but the best players will be McNeil-Warren, or Lawrence.

If Sadiq falls consider him.

Dont worry about safety and TE position value. Dont reach for need and take an iffy prospect. Take the best player without all the question marks. There will be options.

Feel like we can trade back and still get McNeil-Warren. Maybe Arizona comes up for Simpson. Same with Lawrence.

Very good - but from my point of view I might roll the dice on a tackle in the 1st, but beyond that there isn't much reason to bother. Use that 3rd for a TE...

First 3 are GREAT.

Would like Crownover about 2 rounds later. He is going to take some time to be able to play. But hes a former TE. I'll take a shot on the Jason Peters story again, just later.

I can live with that. It was either him or Bell from Miami, but Bell is a career left tackle and I just don't feel comfortable trying to make someone on the left side play on the right. That's one of the reasons I don't like proctor

If Thieneman is gone, which, sounds like top 15 for him, then I would not gamble on trading down in hopes of still getting M-W. Because there's a large drop-off after him.

Whether that be talent drop off, or needing to select a 24 year old Bud Carson or 25 year old Stukes. McNeil-Warren is the last of the tier 1 S prospects. Get him if he's there. Don't get cute.

Bell has no shot.

Crownover has athleticism as the former TE but he has no technique. Too high. And over sets leaving the inside open. Need a lot of polish.

Oh, I've been pointing that out since they made the trade. Cowboys fans on Twitter were fighting me on it, claiming he was under contract...

Dumbest fans get the dumbest owner/GM in the league.
