Looking at Daniel Jeremiah's final top 150 and it is crazy how all over the place the opinions on some of these players are. The draft is obviously full of surprises every year and the "consensus" always ends up being nonsense in large part but I could see it being even more crazy this year like some guys who were expected to be 5th or 6th round picks going late 3rd/early 4th and vice versa. Tight end in particular which is a postion as Eagles fans we have all spent some looking into could be interesting. I mean, is there really that big of a difference in the quality of prospect you are getting with Klare, Delp, Roush, Joly, Trigg, Raridon, Endries, Royer, Klein, Boerkircher, etc? Teams are going to have different opinions and want different things based on their schemes and needs so the order in which these guys are drafted could be all over the place.

For the 1,458th time................DO NOT DRAFT A WR IN THE FIRST 4 ROUNDS.

None of them are that good.

Trust me. I know a lot about WRs, dogs, and toast (toast has to have grape jelly on it). dope-slap

I know this is a popular take but Sean Mannion will have a total of three years NFL coaching experience at any position I believe. Will Jeffrey sign off on that? Even if next year goes well, Chip Kelly's team looked very good his first year as head coach and I'm sure the Eagles FO remembers that. Chip had way more non NFL coaching experience when taking the big chair than Mannion will have had by the end of next year.

I'll give you a name Lurie did sign off on with little experience.....Andy Reid

So I have to subscribe to Peacock in order to watch the Sixers get blown out tonight? F that.

I have Peacock and might cancel out of spite.

Not a WR I usually target but he fell too far. He's not an AJ replacement but kid has juice. Trying to do some digging into late round OL guys.

I think the calculus between him and Freeling is similar. I don't Freeling is worth a top-10 pick, but if a team is willing to take him in the teens then Max isn't far behind.

Exactly. Both are high upside coin flips. And I’m not sure Proctor or Lomu are going to be tackles instead of guards.

The ‘next year is more talented’ is an eternal goal post moving thing. This year was supposed to be a near generational QB class…if you look at the talk from this time last year. Sure there is ‘weak classes’ and changes year to year, but nothing is a given.

Exactly.

I disagree. Next year’s draft is projected to have elite talent at the top at highly valued positions. I think Howie would trade 23 for any 2027 first round pick from a non expected playoff team because the upside would be so much higher for that pick.

Just this year, the Jets were offered a 2026 1 and a 2027 2 for Quinnen Williams. They countered with the picks being flipped. Why? Because that 2027 class is perceived to be significantly better, particularly at QB, making that first round pick more valuable in their eyes.

This year was projected to be a generational QB class a year ago.

This is football. Nothing is guaranteed and future projections are pretty much worthless.

The is exactly one player eligible next season I am confident will be a first round pick: Jeremiah Smith.

He is as close to can’t miss as you can get. Besides him who knows?

Zhun is nice. He has versatility to play all 5 positions. But he would be best suited as an interior OL. Most people are calling him a center.

Beau Stephens is yet another fun to watch Juan Castillo phone booth road grader at G. Not so much a fit for us, but Im not opposed to taking one of those guys in the later rounds.

Ponds is also not our type of CB but I wouldnt be mad.

Stukes is some peoples pick as the guy to sneak in to round 1. Dont know if that happens, but he wont be there anywhere near pick 98.

I like Stukes, wouldn't mind him a round early. Maybe second. I also think the Safety prospects falls off a fair amount after him. There are interesting guys but he's the last one I'd feel good about possibly starting quickly.

I have a feeling that's going to become a bit of a "new normal"

Exactly. If you’re getting paid big money in college why risk it going pro?

I dont like him, I LOVE him. Id say out of all of the old prospects in this class, he makes me the saddest being already 25 by the time the season starts.

So... I dont know where Id take him. I think some team taking a nearly 25 year old in round 1 is kinda crazy. But, is this gonna be the new norm? Suddenly we have to stop knocking age?

Its very conflicting because I LOVE the player.

Your draft added a ton of excitement, and dawg to the secondary.

Numerous teams are punting at QB this year for next year. The WR class looks much better at the top. The Jets actively declined a first round pick this year for next year. Follow the moves.

Not by anyone I saw. 2027 was always projected to be the next great draft class. Not sure who you’re referring to.

Fortunately, we still have all of these mocks in a database.

Here is the earliest one from a reputable source in CBS. 3 QBs in the first 4 picks, 5 total in the first round, with Mendoza as the 33rd rated prospect still on the board in the second round, dated April 24th, 2025. And this one didn’t even have Manning or Sellars going in the first, both of whom were getting mocked in #1 overall at various points.

Go ahead and look at all of the way too early mock drafts yourself if you want:

People said the exact same thing last year: Allar, Nuissmeier, Manning, Sellers and Beck were all looked at as potential top 5 picks and this class was expected to be GENERATIONAL at QB. How’d that work out?

I’ll say it again, there is exactly one guy I’d bet the farm on for next year and that’s Smith. And even with him you’re still assuming he’ll declare for the draft!

Ok. But I’m literally telling you at least one team agreed with me and actually chose a 2027 first round pick over the 2026 one. I bet Howie would too.
