My Eagles Mock Draft (4).png

#1 and #3 are beautiful. The other two, meh.

Based on realism, who he picked, and what needs were filled I would give that a C-

-I don't see how a 3rd and 4th in 2027 gets us from 23 to 16. That is extremely wishful thinking.

-There is no chance that Dunker is there at 98.

-I hate that Kacmarek pick. If it was with their last pick and they paired him with a receiving TE I'd be fine with it but at 137 and as the only TE we draft that's FN gross.

-Proctor and Perkins probably don't make it to where he has us taking them.

EMW will be their 1st pick. Whether it's in the 1st round or not. That's my call!

OK @HazletonEagle - this one's for you. Traded back one spot and took McNeil-Warren.

Oh, I've been pointing that out since they made the trade. Cowboys fans on Twitter were fighting me on it, claiming he was under contract...

Dumbest fans get the dumbest owner/GM in the league.

Quinnen Williams? I thought he was under contract through 2027

He helped himself by taking Clark and Proctor a few rounds late which helps. But kacmarek being the only TE and the bustability of Bell and DDS early is not appealing.

Kacmarek is a reach in the 4th round and to only come out of this draft with him at TE and nobody with TE 1 or even TE 2 upside is pretty egregious. I'd be fine with Kacmarek at 178 or 197 and paired with another TE.

Didn't want to choose at TE do doubled up. Feels like Proctor/Freeling/Max is the type of guy they go far - play the upside.

12 out of 10 Howies for the new formation we have to run because of all of the TEs on the roster.

I mean you are practically set. If you put all that cash into crypto though, you could have a pretty penny. That's where it's at - generational wealth. I mean your great grandkids will pass that penny down to their grandkids.

My cousin is pretty savvy about what I would call maximizing consumer benefits, like cash back credit cards and such. One, an online bank IIRC, gave him like $1 in Bitcoin. He cashed it in like the next day and made a few cents. Then he had to answer the digital questions on his tax return. Value of his time likely means he lost money on the deal.

I think the upside for Faulk is extremely high and he is the type of edge rusher we could really use since he brings size and the ability to play the run. I also think Vic would love him because he could use him in a variety of different ways. I'm not sure he will ever be a big time sack guy but neither is Jaelan Phillips and we all saw the impact he had. I would much rather take him than settle for someone like Miller or Lomu on the OL and would consider him a similar if not slightly higher level pick than Iheanachor.

You're using https://www.profootballnetwork.com/mockdraft as many do. I use that one. Question for you and others using it: which Big Board do you use? I keep seeing people post mock drafts where players are available in much later rounds than when I use the default PFSN. I've tried changing a couple other times but usually forget and just leave the default.

For example, you got Delp at #114 in round 4. PFSN board has him ranked #59 overall, so he's always taken in the 2nd round in those simulations.

Which is the better big board to use?

Yeah - guys are reaching. Trade back Howie.

This makes me think that Howie isn't going to pick OL. He's going to see the value in staying put and picking someone who they have ranked higher on their board.

I use consensus

I have ZERO interest in an undersized slot guy who also isn't downright dynamic like a Williams or Burks. If they go WR on day two I'm hoping for a height/weight/speed guy like Brazzell, Bell, Stribling, Hurst, Fields, Lance, etc. I also like Germie Bernard who really seems to be getting underrated which makes sense since he is just so solid all around but in a good way.

Need this guy to continue to be an Eagle.  Slide him inside

I love Bowry, Parker II, Farmer, Bell, and Burke in that 98-137 range and hope they can come away with one of them in addition to a round 1 or 2 option on the OL.

Problem solved.... best part is i got a 2027 third and fifth round picks from the falcons for our # 98 pick.

Yup. You and I said the same exact thing when that trade got made. When you went to go look at his contract, he was going to need an extension. And they’ve just been sitting on it not doing it. They’re gonna have the same problem with him next year. They continuously get themselves into the same problem and have the same issue.

The crazy thing is - if somehow Ioane were on the board at 23, I'd be livid if we passed, and I would generally never want iOL in round 1. But he'll be gone.

I think the play is to swing for the fences with a guy that could develop - to me that's Freeling (will be gone), Proctor or Max.

Can he run outside Zone? Not pretending to know all of this but most places I've read says he would struggle with it. I think him and Dickerson would be less than ideal for that type of offense.

Faulk gives me some Chandler Jones vibes. Similar athletic profiles. After years of having a blindspot for twitchy run-around guys, Jones was the first edge prospect who made me start valuing prospects with the play strength to go through blockers. Shortest distance to the ball carrier is a straight line. Fangio also favors these long, rugged types. I think Faulk would be a total home run of a pick.

My other favorite edge in the draft is actually one of those explosive twitchy guys: R Mason Thomas. This dude is way undersized but man, he doesn't play like it. Major power in his hands and a violent demeanor to go with the kind of speed you'd expect from a smaller guy. See a little bit of Hassan Reddick. Think Thomas probably goes in the no-man's land between the Eagles first and second round picks but could be a trade-back candidate from 23 or maybe a trade-up in the second if they go offense in round 1. If he somehow fell to their second, that would be amazing value. I don't know if Vic would love a guy with this frame but I like him a lot more than guys like Malachi Lawrence, Howell or Mesidor.

I like Thomas as well. I've seen quite a few Oklahoma games ( living down here in Texas ) and Thomas plays like his hair is on fire. Wouldn't mind him in the second if here's still there

I wouldn't hate it at 23 given the upside. Would be a very "meh" pick to me.

He’s in the same tier as Max Iheanachor to me. High upside and raw, wouldn’t normally be a top 25 pick but given how shallow the talent pool is I’d rather gamble on the upside than take a low ceiling player in the first round.

These are pretty much my final thoughts on the first round and how it ties into the rest of the draft:

-First off, unless someone REALLY unexpected falls I would not trade up from 23. The strength of this draft in it's depth and more specifically day two, not with top end talent on night 1. If anything I would like to see them add to their day two haul, not take away from it. If for some odd reasons Downs, Tate, Lemon, Mauigoa, Fanu, or Bain get within range just stay put at 23 or even trade down. I would REALLY like to be able to trade down to the late 20's/early 30's for more day two capital or a high pick in next year's draft.

-Picks I would love at 23 are Sadiq, Proctor, Freeling, and Vega in that order. Sadiq is a stud at a position of need and could be a dynamic weapon that changes the offense. Proctor and Freeling are both a little bit risky but the upside is massive for both. Vega might be "just a guard" but he might be the safest pick in the draft and could be a perennial all-pro at the position. Chances are all four of these will be gone by 23 and I just don't think they are worth trading up for unless it's a very small move that only costs us pick 98.

-Picks I would like at 23 are Faulk, Iheanachor, Boston, Concepcion, and Cooper Jr. Faulk is a chess piece on the DL that Vic would love and would give us some much needed size at edge. Iheanachor scares me but at least there is legit upside there to where I can get behind the pick. Boston, Concepcion, and Cooper Jr. all come with some risk but I can see a scenario which all three end up high level number 2's next to Devonta.

-Picks that would be "meh" for me at 23 are Thieneman, EMW, and Parker. I just can't see drafting a Safety that isn't a special talent in round one, even in this draft, even at 23. Parker just screams decent all around 6-8 sack guy in the NFL which is, well, meh in the first round. Faulk is bigger, more versatile, and I think the upside is higher so I have him a tier above.

-Picks I would hate are Messidor, Miller, and Lomu. Mesidor is 25 and not special so F that. I think some have gone too far with their Miller hate but he is still just an average safe pick who is a mid to late 2nd round pick in my opinion. Lomu does have some upside but his lack of play strength scares me quite a bit.

Yep, I just said the same exact thing. I would be perfectly fine with Faulk or Iheanachor at 23 and feel like they are similar prospects at different positions for the reasons you just stated. I would much rather have a guy like Faulk than a TJ Paker, and Iheanachor over a Miller or Lomu.
