lacerated kidney.

yeah, totally forgot about that.  I've been suggesting to trade Ertz since last year and it's a move that's overdue but he's an all-time Eagle who loved/loves being here.  It's just time.  Thanks for SB52, setting franchise records and being a standup dude...Come back to sign your 1-day contract to retire and see you in the ring of honor.  In the meantime, please bring us back at least a 4th.

So incredibly sad. Another great young player ruined by Doug.

What?

The Steelers did it too though. And they rested their guys for the whole game.

If the NFL calls the Eagles, then tell them to F off and go call the Steelers. Their game affected the playoffs too.

The only way I’m the least bit okay with Doug is staying is if he gives up play calling and hires a real OC. I can’t believe I’m even saying this TBH

I also rarely defend the Eagles, but they also got very unlucky here.  A bunch of stars aligned.

Teams tank ALL. THE. TIME. in the NFL...especially for one damn game in week 17...except it happens at 1pm in front of about 5 households on TV.

The Eagles had the completely unprecedented misfortune of doing it on prime time with playoff implications for the largest market in the NFL on the line.

I'm sure the NFL is livid about it.  And I find that hilarious.

Bottom line, there was no reason to put the Eagles on in prime time. They had no incentive to play hard or go all out to help a friggin’ six-win team make the playoffs.

Opened the new Blog.

Also, when you're 6-10, you can't complain about what a 4-win team does.

Wentz probably won’t be here. He is going to compete with some UDFA? Maybe we draft a QB with a late round pick or FA, idk.

We don't know.  But how could the plan at QB possibly be to hand him.the reigns?

This might give Lurie the cover to fire Doug

They need to relax.  Hurts wasn't playing well.  He had a 25 QB rating.  Are they seriously questioning taking him out?

It's just what people do on Twitter.  They complain about anything they can to create drama.

So much butthurt on twitter right now. It's laughable that a bunch of players from and fans of a 6-10 team are whining so much about missing the playoffs as a result of this.

Like the tweet everyone of them should get is of this

he makes that catch they are in the playoffs. How about not blowing a 11 point lead with 6 mins left

"Maybe the Eagles disgraced the NFL's sportsmanlike spirit of competition. Or maybe they made a piece of modern art about how guaranteed playoff spots for division winners reflect the false promises of modern capitalism."

That’s on the NFL for flexing a 4 win team who had nothing to play for into SNF. If this game was at 1pm, no one would have given a crap.

Again, this type of decision comes from above Doug.

I feel like a guaranteed playoff spot for a 6 or 7 win team would be more in line with socialism, but we digress.

Good news.

Those poor corners will be coached to play 15 yards off the receiver, and the offense is going to be boring.

This was a preseason game, and one that strategically you wanted to lose.  I’m 100% on biard with that.  I think it is long last time that owners got on board with ,asking strategic decisions that are to the short and long term benefit of their teams.

The Giants lost this game and the division last year, when they won a worthless and utterly meaningless game against the Redskins and handed them Chase Young.  They can look back to that day and remember how important that win was for their franchise.  As they watch rhthe Skins celebrate a division title and home playoff game this year.

Yep.  They did this to themselves.

Yep.  And this is no doubt being fueled by NY Giants fans/media.

I hate that his performance and effort was garbage this year. Still love him for making one of the biggest plays in eagles history with the td reception and fourth down conversion on that drive. But it really ended poorly due to his own lack of effort

I don’t agree with the effort part nor do I care to debate it right now. Best Eagles TE in their history. Should be in Eagles HOF. Attempted to play with lacerated kidney last year.
Tip of the hat to you Mr. Ertz.

Yep.  I had to look at it twice when I saw that they flexed this game.
